Hai fixed our front yard and backyard. We asked other contractors for estimates and Hai was cheapest of them all. He is very flexible, we added a few more stuff along the way and each time he gave us a cheaper quote compared to others. He also gave us advice on picking out plants and trees to put and when the rocks we picked didn't worked out, he added small rocks for free to even it out and even added a concrete for free. Delta Construction and Landscape Service is a company we have used over the past several years for various projects at our home. Hai is always busy because he and his crew do great work. Examples of work done at our home include; replacing sod, sprinklers, drip irrigation, and a few concrete projects in our backyard. Quality work on all projects. In the front yard Hai replaced our drip system, in the side yard they graded/installed a rock walkway with drip irrigation. The list of projects is long and will continue in the upcoming months. Hai just aerated the back yard sod and we discussed some other projects. We talked about replacing a retaining wall and some additional work in the front yard. Beware - Delta Construction abandoned the project unfinished and kept the money we have paid. The garden is a mess and they seemed very unprofessional with the work that has been done and everything took three times as long. They have been untidy leaving trash everywhere and broke many things along the way (e.g. lamps, water pipes for sprinklers). On many days no one showed up for work at all with no warning. Did not meet deadlines and finally stopped showing up at all. The last time we saw them they took some of the stone we have already paid for saying they will replace it with more suitable pieces. Never saw them again... Terrible and expensive experience that left us with a destroyed garden for the summer. read more

We wanted to landscape the lawn area in front of our house and to the side of our house by laying rock and border. I mentioned to Hai that we had a water drainage problem in our back yard and to the side of our house as well. After walking through our property, Hai carefully assessed our drainage and landscape needs and quickly came up with a very workable plan and ultimately successful solution to our drainage problem that was born out by the record rainfall recently. Kudos to Hai for solving a decades old flooding and drainage issue! As a last parting comment: "Good things come to those who are patient." Hai has completed work in our front and back yards, as well as my mother's and son's yards. He is very efficient. He and his assistants are hard workers. Hai removed and replaced lawn/sod, replaced and rerouted sprinklers, added drain pipes, decomposed granite, and a rock border. Before u believe other reviews, look to see if they only did a couple. Hai seems like a nice guy. Two stars No stars for my experience. I had Hai come over to do an estimate to replace a big driveway that I have and some landscaping in my front yard. First he came by and he did the estimate on the driveway and measured it wrong. Then he said he would have me an estimate the next day and I got no communication. I waited two more days no communication. Then I had to call him and ask him a couple times for the estimate and he gave it to me a day later. He told me his printer was broken and so he couldn't give me an estimate. But why didn't even call me or even communicate? Do I really want to hire a company that can't afford $100 computer printer? I asked him for an estimate for the landscaping on my front yard and gave him pictures and he couldn't come by Within two weeks to get an estimate and set it up. Hai sent me a text and told me to remind him to go to the estimate that day. Remind you?!?! Can't you schedule and appointment and show up? Forget it I went through sending this guy pics and everything but he gave me nothing. Caution: before you use him, simple things are an indicator of work quality. I cancelled everything and will go with someone that charges more. I'm pissed that something as simple as first respect of estimate and words spoken wasn't respected. read more

This was by far my best experience with a contractor of any kind! Don't let the owners accent on the phone lead you to believe anything other than he is a proffessional. He calls, shows up and delivers what is expected. His team showed up at 8 am and before my wife came home a 4 pm, the excavated, formed, poured, and completed my driveway 13 x 19 and a 33 ft mow strip. The finished product was outstanding. You could barely tell what they added was not part of the original driveway. If you need a large concrete area poured, use this company. The price was very competative (I called around). read more

It looks so bad we are thinking of tearing it out and doing again only at the cost of 6 more grand so we are not happy. For what it's worth, my review is based on the use of Hai and Delta Landscaping on at least 6 major landscape jobs over the years from my first home until my home. Hai is a super nice guy and very professional. As mentioned, in a prior review, he does have an accent but he completely understands your requests and gets the job done properly. He is super busy so depending on workload, he has been booked out at least a month. Hai's employees are very efficient and they have taken care of our homes tremendously well. We have had concrete patios, sidewalks, drip systems, drainage systems, sod, bark, re-bark, tree removal, landscape lighting, and rock rivers installed by Hai and his crew. We have never been disappointed. My experience with Hai has been over the last 24 years with various projects and I will always go back to him for any landscape install needs. read more

I found Hai here on Yelp and I am glad I did! Hai extended our driveway to allow another vehicle to park in front of our house. He relocated the sprinklers as part of the project and was able to work with the existing utilities access points. Hai also created a custom pad in our backyard that is circular and has cutout to go around our trees. The crew was fast and efficient and cleaned up after themselves. Have used Hai on 2 separate occasions. First time he did cement and sod in our backyard and the results were positive and his crew took their time. This review is for the second job he performed for us. Our grass had died due to hot summers and water restrictions. We called Hai back up and requested he return to do sod in the front of the house and back of the house that would withstand the heat better than the original sod laid. He was given a list of other small things to complete to dress up the backyard as well. This time his crew came in and rushed the job 100%. They spaced the sod so far apart in an attempt to use less of it to keep money in his pocket that it didn't grow together and there are obvious outlines for the sod. They also did not lay a top layer of soil and just used the dirt they tilled to do the grading which has caused the sod to die over 50% of the backyard and 35% of the front. We also have city access ports in our front lawn and they just threw sod over these concrete panels which obviously died immediately. The small jobs in the backyard were also not completed and seemed as if he forgot about them completely. Tried to contact Hai about the issues and no attention was paid to us even though we were a repeat customer. Will not recommend this company. Suggest you spend a little more to get a quality company. Will be worth it in the long run as we have learned. read more

Returned Wednesday, moved some dirt around, broke sprinklers and again thought that would be good enough, wrong. He did not fulfill the quote he signed and things he agreed to do. Delta Construction is so good at what they are doing. They supported me very well as a remote home owner by email, text, etc. I live in San Jose and my property is in Elk Grove. I wanted to lay concrete in my backyard for a patio and side walk. Delta went there to do an estimation and gave me a very competitive rate by email. They also drew and emailed me a professional sketch for the concrete plan. I only made one trip to the property during their actual work day. Delta was flexible when I changed or added more area for concrete during the work. Their job is very professional with high quality and warranty. They even provided me with following up service by sending a worker there a few days later to grade the concrete edges. After that Delta emailed me the pictures of the final look while I am already back in San Jose. Delta worked very well with remote home owners like me and I am very happy for their service.
