The more we visit here, the better we like it. If you've never tried the beignets, you are missing out. Paired with their butter, they will melt in your mouth. The biscuits and sausage are just delicious. The service here is better than most places we frequent. Very happy customers! read more

I've been a regular customer to this restaurant since shortly after they opened. My best friend and I loved to eat here. Unfortunately, this past Saturday I ended up with food poisoning after eating breakfast here. I contacted the restaurant because I felt the owner should know. I hate to not leave a glowing 5 star review because I wanted this outing to be a stellar experience like other reviews I have read. I ordered the King salad which was a really tasty combination of flavors except for the fried chicken breast. The chicken was so tough I had a hard time cutting it up. The first piece I tried wasn't edible it was so hard. After moving the other pieces to the side of the salad I noticed the batter had fallen off and the meat was very gray looking. It looked like it had been microwaved then cooked. I should have sent it back but the salad was fine without it. Everyone else's food was fine and enjoyed. My mother did say her waffle wasn't hot because her butter was not melting. The biscuits were delicious. I will give DBC another chance! read more

Just ate at this wonderful little jewel of a place. I had a Nola Bowl which is shrimp and grits, tasso ham and a soft poached egg that oozes over the top. And did I mention that the grits have creamy gouda? Hubby had the Sardou Benedict. It was equally as luscious and tasty. So sad we do not live near here so we could come all the time! Everything was fantastic! We had a reservation that we had to cancel when some of our party got stuck in the mud. We went to this restaurant for lunch because I had read FB posts talking about how good it was. The building was beautiful on the outside and the decor was nice. However, the crowd noise was a bit high and our table had pop up leaves on the edges that were very unstable. We were near the kitchen door which wouldn't have been bad, except that it banged loudly every time it was used. (A rubber stopper could have solved this problem.) Our waitress was prompt but didn't keep our water glasses filled. The food was okay, but when I go somewhere with "biscuit" in the name, I expect exceptional biscuits! They were very dense and not very good. The table next to us ordered a basket of biscuits and ended up sending them back. We started out with beignets which were excellent!! They were fresh made and delicious. However, I had cafe aulait which was barely warm. For our meal I had Eggs Benedict which was good but it was on the biscuit that was sub par. I did really like the mixed greens with a very tasty vinaigrette dressing. My husband had chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and gravy along with corn. The chicken fried steak was okay and there wasn't enough gravy. The corn was really good, though. My dad had a grilled chicken sandwich which was juicy and good. The sides of green beans and potato salad was good. I felt the pricing for the items was fair. Overall, I was expecting much better and was disappointed. read more

Had to write this review because after being nearly persuaded to leave by an unhappy customer while we were waiting outside for a table.. I'm glad we stayed! Food is so subjective so it's hard to judge a place based on someone else's experience but overall we had a great brunch! We started with the mess of biscuits because obviously we had to try to biscuits on their own, we both loved them! I would say they aren't the light soft fluffy type of biscuits, they are big dense buttery southern biscuits! They were delicious on their own, didn't even need the cane sugar butter. I got the raspberry Bellini and a pineapple mimosa, my sister got the loopy sour and all were great cocktails! I ordered the sardou benedict (even though I typically don't love Tasso) with the side of duck fat hashbrowns (omg those hashbrowns), it was all soooo yummy the only complaint I had was one of my eggs was overcooked, the yolk was hard but the other one was the perfect poached egg. My sister got the Bayou Macon omelet which I tried and it was also so good (cheesy and smoky) with a side of the Gouda grits which we were both hype to try because we love Gouda but unfortunately they were extremely bland and flavorless, just tasted like plain grits. But honestly overall I would say this was a really great brunch, our server was super sweet, and I would definitely stop in again! Glad we stayed! read more

So I've been here twice now. My biggest complaint is if you're going to be a biscuit company then you need to have amazing biscuits. They're too dry and crumbly. On my first visit, I ordered the pork belly sliders and biscuits were like rocks. On my second visit, I ordered a breakfast meal and my biscuit wasn't a rock but it wasn't fluffy either. It was meh...The service has always been great. read more

Whilst increased wait times may deter you, the bottomless mimosas and savory dishes make this brunch stop so worth it! I wish I had more pictures to share, but our plates were devoured before we even thought of documenting!
