UPDATE:
Within a day of our payment being due, this company cashed our check, which they received almost three weeks in advance of the due date. I find it odd that the check POSTED the day after our payment was due yet they were unable to verify they had possession of it 24 hours earlier. That just doesn't add up for me.
Also, because they won't take my call and we are forced to go through our agent, I had to have them reach out to find out when I'd receive reimbursement.
They told our agent it will be at least 20 business days before they will send a check out. My question is...why? Why will it take them at least 20 business days to mail the check? The only reasonable answer I can think of is that they want the interest for holding it in their account.
Now when I think about the volume of people they are treating like me, I can only guess that this is some twisted concept by which the company operates to make a small addition profit and it's disgusting to me.
They should have cashed my check in a timely manner. Period.
So, again, I'd avoid these folks if you can. See my original review below.
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
I'd avoid this company if you can.
Our agent stuck us with them and during the two years we've been covered by them, we've had nothing but problems.
First, on two consecutive years, they received our full payment for the policy AT LEAST THREE WEEKS IN ADVANCE. Both years, however, we were forced to submit a last minute payment because they refused to process the checks in a timely manner.
Mind you both checks were sent through Wells Fargo Bill Pay service, so these were not personal checks requiring a hold. They simply didn't process them.
It took two full months for me to get reimbursed last year. Can't wait to see how long it will take this year.
But that isn't all.
Last year, they forced us to replace a perfectly good and serviceable roof to the tune of $40k plus the expense of having our solar panels removed and replaced. That was an additional $11k.
It's not like moss or other material had infiltrated the roof either. It was in excellent condition and had just passed county inspection for the initial installation of the solar panels.
So, if you end up going with this company for your insurance needs, you will face challenges that you won't with other companies. If they were simply more strict, that wouldn't be an issue for me as that would improve my trust in them. But, I actually expect them to delay and deny any future claim we might have based on their actions to this point. Especially because they blamed the requirement to replace the roof on us being in a high-fire area...we aren't. That was simply their way of justifying the requirement when we questioned them about it.
In the end, I simply don't trust this company and we are looking for an alternative now. Save yourself the hassle and don't insure with them in the first place. read more
