For years, I have seen Greg Lartilleux's & Avenir Mortgage Planner's information in flyer coming from a realtor to all homes in our neighborhood. I thought that one day I will call him to look into refinancing our home. I kept putting off that call year after year. That was until about a month ago, when I heard on the radio that mortgage rates went to lows not seen since the 2008/09 crash. So, I decided to call Greg. We made an appointment and met at his office, in Pleasant Hill. Prior to meeting, I provided Greg with all the necessary information regarding our current mortgage, payments, income, etc, in order to allow Greg to research and find the best refi options for our home. We met in COVID 19 compliant conditions, masks, social distancing, etc. Greg was very well prepared, knew inside out the details of our mortgage, had our credit history run, and, based on all the information, had prepared two mortgage refi proposals. Both of them had an exceptional low rate. After carefully reviewing with me all the details of both offers, we picked one that best suited our current situation. Then, Greg explained how the entire process will work out. The refi choice selected will save us significant money on a monthly basis, and over the life of the loan. By all means, this is probably the last loan that we'll ever need until the home is paid in full. The following day, and over the next 3-4 weeks we have worked with Brent, one of the Loan Managers with Avenir Mortgage. Brent guided us through the various steps that we needed to complete (e.g online approvals for documentation with our new lender), and the organized the signing of the document with Old Republic Title Company. Given the current COVID situation, we agreed to have the signing at our home, in the backyard. Ana, the Old Republic notary contacted the day prior, and on the day of signing, arrived promptly at the agreed upon time. She went over the paperwork, and within 20 mins or so, the entire process was completed. A few days later, when the loan closed, we received the final notification that the loan as closed from Lisa, the Loan Partner for Avenir MP. I cannot speak highly enough for the professionalism of everyone at Avenir MP, from the moment I picked up the phone to call Greg, to the last email received from Lisa, informing us of the loan closure. I needed to refinance my home in a relatively short time frame last spring. I also have a unique income situation with a mix of short term employment and independent contractor work. After spending time searching through tons of online mortgage brokers, starting paperwork, giving up when I got to the income verification section, and receiving annoying sales calls, I finally started looking for a local broker.
