I found Jason through my realtor, when my own loan guy fell through. My realtor said, "Give Jason a call. He's great." Boy, she wasn't kidding! I am self-employed (ie, difficult to get a loan for) with different amounts deposited randomly (banks hate that), and part of my down payment coming from an account shared by other members of my family (banks hate that, too). In short, my situation isn't ideal! Jason stuck with me, compiling info and answering questions over the ten months it took to find a house. When we did find it, I said, "So... how fast can we have this done? I want to move in last week!" Jason said, "I'll get things done as fast as I can!" And he was true to his word. Because of the above bank-hated problems, issues kept popping up. Through it all Jason was on top of it, letting me know exactly what I needed and why, always there to answer my questions, and never sounding frustrated or exasperated. First yelp review I have written from my NEW HOUSE, woohoo! I actually talked to a few really nice and patient brokers who were happy to explain everything about the mortgage/loan process before we finally started the pre-approval proceedings. Why did we choose Jason over the others? His Yelp reviews! Thank you Yelp for helping me make the EXCELLENT decision we did- Jason was phenomenal. And I liked his voice on the phone. Yes, I judge such things, what? Jason got our pre-approval done in a reasonable time - we had told him we weren't in a hurry, we were going out with our Realtor a week later. Then, when we wanted to make an offer, my Realtor gave him a call and he sent out a different letter in literally 10 minutes flat. Twice! Jason was ready to meet with us even at night to go over the loan documents, but our schedule just didn't permit it. He was great at INSISTING he go over certain key points on the phone with me, even though I promised I would read every page (I did read them too, I swear!). I'm glad he made me take those 10 minutes though, I understood what I reading much better for it. Fast forward, three weeks into our 45 day escrow, we find out that the sellers' Realtor had given our team incorrect information, and the house was not eligible to be purchased under a standard FHA loan. The loan was denied, not through our fault or Jason's- he even called the seller directly to check on the information we needed! He rallied, found a different lender that could do the loan we needed, and even after we accepted the new terms and higher interest rate, continued negotiating them down so our new loan had an equal interest rate. We didn't even ask him to, he just went to bat for us anyway. Jason managed to close our FHA loan in under 3 weeks - my Realtor was impressed, as were we. We didn't even have to change our move-in date! I didn't find out until later just how hard he had to work to get us in the house, he just made everything run so smoothly - definitely what I needed as a first-time home buyer. If you are a first-time buyer, I recommend watching Jason's crash course video of 'the 6 most common questions'. It's a short, informative video. Had me so intrigued that I reached out to him the same night for additional information and so began our journey with Jason. My husband and I had already been pre-approved for a loan through another reputable mortgage broker, but we ultimately decided to go with Jason because he came across as a genuine, straight forward person, who would always have his clients' best interests at heart. Of course, it helps that he is extremely knowledgeable in his field - on the brokerage side as well as the real estate side. In our case, he handled the financing and represented us as our real estate agent. It took some time for us to find a home, mostly due to timing and lack of inventory. My husband and I just starting looking for homes the middle of this past week. Knowing we would need a lender, we gave Jason a call. 1 Star - Jason answered right away. He was not at his desk, so he asked if he could call me back in 5-10 minutes when he could focus all his attention on me - and that is what he actually did. This was a pleasant surprise considering the other lender I called did not answer and still has not returned my call. 2 Stars - As a total newbie to this process, Jason spent a solid 30 - 40 minutes speaking with me. He answered all of my questions and then some. It was refreshing to work speak with someone who was forthright and honest. 3 Stars - My husband and I attended 9 open houses over the weekend and most of the listing agents we spoke with knew him and all those who did spoke very highly of him. This was comforting, as it is such a good feeling to know that we were in good hands. 4 Stars - Jason had sent me an email listing what he would require in order to get us a pre-approved. We had gathered everything for him, but not yet sent it out, as we intended to look for a little while before making an offer on anything and thus, were in no hurry. This all changed Sunday afternoon when we come across a place we had to have. So there we were, wanting to put in an offer by the next morning, but we did not have a pre-approval letter. I gave Jason a call and he got back to us in less than an hour. He told us to send everything over and he would do everything he could to get us a pre-approval letter by the time bids were due the next morning. Not only was he able to obtain the pre-approval, but he sent it to us Sunday night. I was very impressed. 5 Stars - Fast forward to 7:30 this morning. My husband and I met our agent at 7:30am to write-up our offer. It turned out the property we were looking to purchase was not FHA approved and we had asked Jason for an FHA loan (we are first-time home buyers and felt that an FHA loan would best fit our situation). OH NO! In a complete state of disarray, I emailed and texted Jason to see if he could review the documents we sent him and possibly pre-approve us for a conventional loan. Mind you, bids were requested by 10am. Jason responded in a timely manner, reviewed everything and was able to get a letter to our realtor in time for us to submit a bid! WOW!
