They worked around my tight schedule and within the same week I was able to leave with a style that suited me and made me feel confident. A serious caution before booking at Dellaria Wellesley. Last week, I booked the "$175 new client special" with Amanda. What followed was the single worst salon experience I've ever had--and ended up costing me $415 (before tip), with no prior explanation or consent about the massive upcharges. I walked in with previously well-blended brunette highlights and asked Amanda to eliminate brassiness, brighten the tone, and cover my greys. I left with blotchy copper hair, visible bleach spots around my hairline, and grey roots still showing. Amanda was kind, but it quickly became clear she either didn't understand what I was asking for or didn't have the skill to execute it. The color application was heavy handed in some spots and uneven in others. Meanwhile, the receptionist/manager loudly carried on a personal speakerphone call in the middle of the salon, making it an actively stressful and unprofessional environment. When I raised concerns about the obvious spotting around my hairline--Amanda "toned" the spots and I was brushed off by the receptionist, told it looked great at the end, and then hit with a bill that more than doubled the advertised special. None of the upcharges were disclosed in advance. I followed up with corporate and provided photos and a detailed account. The response I received was defensive, condescending, and riddled with false claims. They implied that I asked for services I never requested (like a caramel color or additional toner), and blamed me for my dissatisfaction. I was stunned by the lack of accountability and the dismissive attitude from their corporate team. Not only did they fail to take ownership, they demonstrated zero understanding of basic customer service. I have respectfully asked for a refund and they stated they will only "redo" my hair to which I declined - no way would I step foot in there again. This entire experience has been infuriating and costly--I had to go to my regular colorist to fix the damage, spending another $300. The service was bad from start to finish. The male hairdresser never introduced himself, he told me to follow him, to sit, he put a cape on me and then I reminded him i was only there for a blowout. He ripped the cape off and said follow me, brought me to the sink, stuffed a towel around my neck, no cape, and proceeded to wash my hair, face and arms. Yes, he seriously sprayed straight in my face which splashed on my arms. He never asked me how I wanted it blown out and I have a bob. He was drying it straight. I had a HORRIBLE experience at this salon getting highlights. Instead of highlights, the "Master Color Expert" instructed a stylist to highlight my hair with 20 foils, all in the front. They left me under a heat lamp for 45 minutes with highlights, checking to make sure that I was completely blonde. No "highlights" in the back (e.g., I had all blonde in front and all dark brown in the back). To make things worse, the owner blamed me...she was extremely rude and inappropriate. This is the "Master Color Expert". What a mess. Jessica did a good job getting rid of the blond. I was supposed to have auburn highlights in the end but it didn't work .At least I'm not blonde. I LOVE DELLARIA Salon in Wellesley! First of all, Hind, who is the owner and manager, is super fabulous and she is super cool. She makes everyone feel special. I truly feel like a rock star when I walk in. They get me at hello. The place is immaculate, which lets' face it, that makes a big difference, AND ALL the stylists and colorists are top-notch. They have a great reputation and can work with any hair types. I think it's a perfect ten in the salon industry. But the best part is this: Every time I walk out I look and feel like a million bucks. With Dellaria Wellesley you can actually like how your hair looks. They really know what they are doing, and at this point in my life, my hair needs to be styled and colored by professionals of this caliber. There is just no other way. I think the salon is totally over pricing their services I go to a very respectable salon I pay like $130 for a wash cut blow dry and a color and they charged my daughter for a wash cut blow dry $190 I think it's gouging and disgusting and when I tried to talk to the manager, she was not very nice Just because you're in the town of Wellesley doesn't mean that you can gouge people on prices. We all work hard for our money and I think your website is listed as one price and you go in and you get another while the guy did do a good job on our hair. I won't doubt that he didn't listen. ASK 4 THE PRICE BEFORE YOU GO IN!!!!!! Online the business listed that a haircut and blow dry is $60+ (which the business later confessed that it's $60 if it's done by a hairstylist "WITH NO EXPERIENCE"). During my visit at the salon, I was never once communicated about the level of expertise of my hairstylist, nor was I told about the price (I also didn't ask, thinking it would be $60 because I didn't request any treatment or special service). I asked for the price at checkout, and my jaw was on the floor when the lady went, "$125, standard pricing." I later called the business to ask about the price difference between online listing and the actual charge - it was an unpleasant conversation, the receptionist kept threatening to report me as slander if I posted reviews anywhere. For the record, and in case she tries to put words in my mouth, I never once said "if you don't give me my money back I'll leave you a bad yelp review". I don't think the business deserves a bad yelp review - my hairstylist is very nice and good at what he does, and I tipped him well for he deserves it - but I think my fellow customers deserve to be informed of the price and not be misled by the information the business has posted online. read more

I purchased the 5 blow dry package for $99 and had one blow dry remaining. Hind was at the register and refused to honor the blow dry package and even told me there was nothing in her computer to confirm my claim. I told her it was indeed in her computer and after a while she said this package was no longer available and had expired 3 months after purchase. I told her that I had purchased many of the packages and no one ever told me that they expired and none were ever used within 3 months. All were previously honored. Hind refused to provide me with her last name and charged me $60 for this blow dry and applied the $19 left on her computer which she finally found and applied an $11 credit that remained on a gift card. Hind charged me triple for something that I had paid for previously. The worst place I have ever been. Walked in and the receptionist ignored me for 20 min and then said it was because she thought I must be related to the only other person of color in the salon who was already there. Had Barbara for my appointment and she constantly raked her nails across my face, jabbed me by the eye with a clip and was extremely rough with combing. After the blowout she just picked up my gown and left me with a towel and robe in my hands and walked away without a word. As I left and explained what happened to the receptionist she makes more comments about my ethnicity ("Where are you REALLY from?") instead of the situation. She then tells me not to take offense. I've come to Dellaria before with different stylists and always had a good experience. I love coming back to this salon because the atmosphere is so cozy and inviting and always so pleasant. Today was our first time getting a balayage so I called to book our appointments and asked the manager who would be a good stylist for a balayage. The manager was super knowledgeable and friendly and booked me and my sister with Esmerelda. She did a great job on our hair and listened to us and understood exactly what we wanted. Coming to this salon was an emotional rollercoaster I'd happily reverse if I could. A few years ago I won a voucher for a free haircut and dry here during the Wellesley Wonderful Weekend event organized by the town. I barely go to the hair salon but I had a great first experience, and returned three more over the years. The fourth time I returned will be the LAST. A wash and blow dry is listed at starting at $40 on their website where I booked the appointment. The hairstylist gave me some layers as requested and sat me under the dryer for a while rather than asking how I'd like it blown out as normal. No big deal. When checking out I thanked everyone numerous times and the store manager rang me out. She didn't tell me my total and gave no receipt, but my previous haircut experiences never totaled more than $75. Given my previous experiences, I had good faith in the amount charged, and tipped in cash as normal. A week later I see I was charged $130!! Nearly double my previous experiences and most definitely far higher priced than the haircut and experience I got. When calling the salon to calmly explain my frustration in what seemed to be a dishonest transaction, the store manager began to call me a "stupid fucking bitch" along with other derogatory slurs. I couldn't get a straight explanation of why the charge was so high, why she didn't tell me, and why there was no receipt. In complete disbelief in the way she blew up out of nowhere, I noted I recognized her voice asked if she was the store manager. She confirmed and proceeded to accuse me of discriminating against her. As the daughter and granddaughter of Soviet Union refugees, I am well aware of the discrimination immigrants and their descendants have to face daily from first hand experience. This was not one of these moments by a long shot. Left completely distraught and disgusted, I had to hang up the phone because of the managers abusive comments. After reaching out to corporate, I received a refund which will absolutely NEVER make up for the traumatic experience I had here. Needless to say there's so reason I'd come back here. When I moved to Boston from South Florida I had a really hard time finding someone who truly understands how to handle blondes the way I like until I found Byrne. Recently I got married and she did both my color and my chignon updo. I got tons of compliments and everyone asked me "Who did your hair?" My daughter was quoted a price for a service and left spending $130 over that the quoted estimated cost. She was never offered a color consult. When I went into share the experience, and to request that the $130 difference be refunded, I was told that 1) I was wrong 2) there are no refunds. I was not offered even an apology. BEWARE of this place! 1. The prices on their website ARE NOT what they charge. Those prices are to simply lure you in, and they will up-charge you without informing you. It's a total scam. Their website says a single process starts at $70, but they charged me $170 for a VERY simple root touch up - no cut and no blow-dry. I complained to the receptionist who had booked me, and she claimed it was bc she gave me a "master stylist" even though I notified her prior to the appointment that I was a new client (the "new client" special advertised was a single process, blow-dry and cut for $99). Really? A "master stylist" costs $100 more? Please. All this, and they did a horrible job. The color was flat, too dark and didn't match. They also didn't shampoo all the color out so my hair at the nape of my neck was sticky and I had stains from the color on my forehead, ears and neck. So unprofessional. They claim corporate increased the pricing and notified clients, but I never got the email and have been going their every 3 weeks for 3 years. Finally after seven years i found a salon with a variety of stylists who understand ethnic hair ! My babysitter called out sick the last minute , i had to take my baby girl with me the first time to this salon , i thought she maybe crying while i am having my hair done . The staff is humble and so amazing here ! They were accommodating , they offered their unique out side gazebo for my daughter and I , we felt at home here . We had a pleasant experience, Terrific hair stylists , really friendly and knowledgeable. I have a thick hair and the blowout I received finally was a bomb ! My stylists here always do an amazing job and understand ethnic hair like no one else I've been to in other salons . I have frizzy , puffy curly hair and the stylists worked my hair over with out damaging it . I like how they are able to get my hair looking silky smooth using the salon products that contain no harmful animal tested product according to my stylists who are always educating me about hair products. I don't agree with the negative reviews I read here except for the one about the Bundle That I missed (i used to have my blow out few times a week ) nevertheless if you are looking for someone who is going to invest in the health and care of your hair with expertise, this salon is the place to go to .
