Whether you're after a wee snacky delicacy for a dinner starter (or dessert!), that essential but hard-to-find exotic ingredient that you simply must-have for a recipe, a designer beer or three, or even a quality malt whisky, Peckhams is the place that you're likely to find it. I usually visit here when my eye is caught by a fancy malt whisky in the window (cunningly displayed right beside their cash machine, the cads!), or when I'm seeking margaritas mix for what has become a Christmas cocktails tradition with us. The West End would be a poorer place without Peckhams. Long may they continue.

I love Peckhams. I'm probably there far too often. They pride themselves on being able to cater to your foodie needs all day long, with pastries and rolls in the morning, a wide range of lunch options and even their own range of freshly made ready meals for dinner. Then of course they have offers for coffee and cake, should you need anything else in between. As far as I'm concerned, this is what delis should be like. They would get five stars out of five too, but the service can be just a little bit on the slow side. I don't mean when they're struggling with the lunchtime rush because that's fair enough. I mean, it can take them a few minutes to realise that you haven't been served, and in serving you some things they can be very slow (don't bother getting butter on your roll in the morning, unless you've got plenty of time on your hands). It's easy to forgive them because they're friendly and helpful and because everything is delicious but if they were just a tiny bit more efficient Peckhams would be perfect.

Let's start from the beggining, the restaurant deco is similar to my favourite restaurants in Madrid, modern, a little dark at night and full of typical products (cheese, wine, garlic, ham's leg). We were invited to wait at the bar to wait for a better table , and a super nice Spanish guy gave us recommendations about the wine and the ham. Just 5 minutes later we had our table ready. We ordered a verdejo wine, d.o rueda, a porron pot. As starter we ordered the Presa de lomo iberico and bread with olive oil. All of them was amaZing, the wine was perfect and the lomo was super tasty!! After that we ordered the tapas, difficult choice! The selection was: black rice with alioli, aubergine with honey, chorizo lolipops with alioli and ham croquetas. I can't say which one was the best, absolutely incredible, but the croquetas was same as the best in Spain!! Even the rice... To be honest it was like beign in Spain! Furthermore the Staff invited us to try the 3 hams selections and cheese with mojama. No words!! After that for sure it was dessert time: tarta de la abuela (chocolate, crumble...) another 5* The staff and service was excellent as well. To be honest, and not because I'm Spanish is the best restaurant I've tried in Glasgow! And the price was only £52 !!!! I want to go every single month!!!!!!!!

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share this experience due to serious food…read moresafety concerns. We ordered from Celino's on August 19th, and one of the dishes -- the Allo Scoglio Pasta -- contained spoiled crayfish. The smell was unmistakable and completely inedible. We didn't eat anything else in the order out of caution, as the risk of food poisoning was too high. I grew up in Greece and know seafood -- this was clearly off. Given that my mother was previously sick for weeks due to bad crayfish, we weren't willing to take any chances and threw out the entire meal. I contacted the restaurant immediately. The manager acknowledged the issue and initially offered a replacement meal for collection only, which felt dismissive considering the seriousness of the situation. I was told I'd be called the next day by the area manager -- that call never came. Eventually, someone called around 7pm and all they did was refund one meal and insinuate that we didn't know what we were talking about. It was condescending and disappointing. Expecting us to collect a free meal from the same kitchen that nearly served us spoiled seafood is not a solution -- it's a lack of accountability. Pointing us toward Uber Eats to resolve the issue just felt like passing the buck. Food safety should be a top priority, and the lack of proper follow-up or genuine concern from the team is alarming. I hope no one else has to experience this.

Followed by the biggest strawberry tart I've had! OMG, I can safely say the food was the best Italian food I have eaten in Scotland. whatever ingredients they use are simply wow! our waiter Alex was so attentive, had fabulous "patter" and he just completed our experience. From start to finish, we had an amazing day, and it's now my new favourite restaurant! if you want authentic Italian food with fabulous service and a very reasonable price, then Celino's is the place to go!

Warning: this review contains gratuitous cheese references…read more Deli Zola recently opened in the place of Deli 1901 and after reading Debs M's review I just knew I had to get along there, quick smart. The boards outside show a few interesting specials to tempt you inside - rose lamb hotpot with garlic bread, vegetable stew as well as some breakfast-type options of scrambled eggs. Inside it's nicely decorated - not too over the top with the Frenchness but there's a lovely chandelier, loads of seating, and a generally pretty cosy vibe. There's a deli section which has a chilled stacked with cheeses and meat, as well as pre-made croissants and baguettes. There's also a shelf of jarred French delights like marinated garlic, truffled mushrooms, terrine, goose fat etc, plus fresh breads, quiches and Christmas hampers. As you can probably tell, they've managed to pack a lot into this deli! I was keen to try the Croque Monsieur so asked to get one takeaway. They offered to heat it up for me but seeing as I wasn't going straight home I got it cold. They wrapped it in foil for me and gave me heating instructions which was handy. While I was waiting for my sandwich I gave into the temptation on the counter and grabbed a couple of pastries for £1.50 each (pastel de nata). Now - confession time - I did actually buy two of these and one was meant to be for my husband, but I ate them both. Woops. They were just divine, the crispy caramelised top was too much for me to resist. And I don't even have a sweet tooth. I also got a wedge of Gruyere (who can resist a cheese counter?) which wasn't bad value at £19/kg, and off I went on my way. I warmed up my sandwich in the oven when I got home and can confirm that it was just as delicious as it looks - cheesy, creamy, crispy and delicious. Yum. I want another one right now actually.

Then when I discovered they sell one of my favourite French dishes ever, the humble Croque Monsieur, I knew I had to get myself down there. Popped in for a flying visit today and I definitely wasn't disappointed - it was bigger than I was expecting and was definitely a nice, cosy place to come into out of the cold! It was pretty busy considering it was about 3pm on a Sunday and had such a lovely atmosphere, really chilled out and just seemed like a good place to relax. I went up to the counter to place my order (to take away) and was told it'd be 4 minutes, nice and specific! I had a wee nosey while I was waiting and all the produce looks so very tasty. They had French cheeses and saucissons, as well as quiches, pastries, bread...among other things - mmm! The staff were very attentive and friendly, can't fault the service at all. The Croque Monsieur itself was totally delicious! I was determined to make it home before I ate it but I ended up scoffing half of it when I got in my car cause it smelled so good!! They also had the Moulin Rouge soundtrack playing when I was in which I loved, that's a plus for me! Definitely going to go back (hopefully sooner rather than later!) so I'll write an update on what the sit-in service is like too - can't imagine it'll be bad though!

As I was just popping in for a quick visit, I just grabbed some baked goods to go. Today is their first day of opening and my gosh, they look like a very slick operation already. I'm not sure who is behind the business but they certainly know their stuff - the place looks amazing, the food is drool-worthy and the staff were all super friendly and chatty. I couldn't resist the lure of a couple of donuts which are plain and sugar coated. I noticed some very delicious looking stuffed-brioche and got those two - plain, caramalised onion or feta and spinach filled. The total for two donuts and two brioche £10 which I thought was pretty pricey (and the only reason this is 4 rather than 5 star) - maybe they'll be the best damn brioche I've ever eaten though so I might update this review in a couple of hours. [Edited: after I posted this, I got a message from the owner to say that I should have been charged around £7.50 so there must have been a mistake at the till. I really appreciated that, so have updated the score to the full 5 stars as it was so nice of them to get in touch about it! The donut and brioche were both absolutely delicious too, by the way.] They have an epic brunch menu which I'll have to come back for - brioche French toast, eggs benny, pancakes, waffles. Everything is made fresh and they certainly know how to make you drool over the food. If you're in for lunch, there's sandwiches (made on baked in-house bread), hot dishes and salads. Seb & Mili are opening another store in the next couple of weeks in Finnieston, by Old Salty's (the blue store currently being done up) - apparently that space is amazing, so I look forward to visiting there too.

I'm giving this place a 3 star because it's quite nice, the space and all but to be perfectly…read morehonest, the food and drinks aren't all that! The staff members are lovely though! The first time I tried Seb & Mili was with Queen B herself. We went over for some lunch and chit chat! I ordered from their brunch menu a plate of waffles and bacon, a combination that can't go wrong. However, my plate weren't as impressive as I'd hoped. The waffles themselves, though tasted fine, were SO SO SO thin! Aren't waffles suppose to be fluffy and crunchy on the outside but chewy on the inside? And the bacon, well ... I dunno ... weren't even crunchy? They were so pale, it was a tad questionable! I think Bri's special dish of chicken and corn was probably much better than what I got! The second time I went, I brought my friend over for coffee. She made the mistake of ordering a soy latte because boy was it baaaaadddd! They're obviously not the place to have a cuppa! They don't know how to make proper coffee at all, and add the bad management of soy milk, yikes! Her soy milk was curdling so bad that it looked like tofu. There's a certain method to making soy lattes/cappucinos, if you don't know it, don't serve it. Also, the coffee was burnt. Mine was as bitter as a car tyre. Added like 3 teaspoons of sugar to try and save it. Conclusion, don't order coffee from here. They have homemade cakes though, which are pretty ok I guess. We tried the muffins and brownies! Muffins are pretty decent but brownies were far too sweet for my liking. Perhaps a super sweet tooth would love it? Again, the space is lovely! Green and very comfy. The staff members are sweethearts too! They kinda save it for me. But they really need to reevaluate what they're serving their customers! The food can be so much better!
