I got some new sights for my G19 recently. I had no issues installing the front using a Glock sight tool but, ran into issues getting the rear all the way into the dovetail (I don't have a sight pusher). I have installed rear sights on my 34 without a pusher in the past. Took it into Del Valle's and the gentleman behind the counter got it squared away in a couple of minutes. I wasn't expecting to pay much but, definitely something. I was pleasantly surprised to not be charged anything. He also gave me his process for installing rear sights on Glocks so I shouldn't have the issue again. Top notch service, thank you very much. read more

This Shop is a rarity in California. It's like gun shops use to be ; they have firearms of interest. Many older antiques , even muzzleloaders. Military rifles and a selection of modern and antique pistols and revolvers. Totally stoked place. They also have what nobody has in this area. People whom really know firearms; several employees are Gunsmiths I believe. I know the old guy is. He's very knowledgeable too. read more

Do not come here. This place did nothing for our gun and had terrible customer service. Our rifle had an issue with its safety, and we brought it here for repair. Gunsmith devoted 4-5 mins looking at it and said it "might need some machining" and that "safety repair can be kind of tricky." We followed-up for approximately nine months and was given the same "call back in a week or two" every single time. Eventually we had enough and picked-up rifle, unrepaired. Gunsmith said nothing other than "Here you go." No apologies or comments, just "Here you go." We took the rifle to Perry's Sporting Goods in Scotts Valley, and it was repaired within 3 mins. Gunsmith there went even further to retorque some screws and some other unrelated maintenance issues he found. You're much better off going here or anywhere else. Good luck. read more

Avoid. Incredibly bad customer service. I brought in a pistol to have new sights installed, and was told it would take "a couple" of weeks. Over a month later, having received no calls, I thought I had better check on things. I was told that the sights hadn't even been ordered, they were still looking for some as they required a proprietary wedge shape for my Wilson Combat pistol. Me: well, if it's proprietary, did you try checking on the Wilson Combat website? Them: (long pause) uh...yeah, I didn't see any... ... which is hilarious, since I was bringing up the website on my phone as I was talking, and found the sights in approximately 6 seconds. The truth is that they just stuck my pistol on a back shelf and forgot about it. I just went and picked it up to take it elsewhere at that point. read more

Ray is an amazing gunsmith. Fixes everything and is honest with his opinions of what could or should be done. Really reasonable rates, work is top notch and I feel welcomed like family when I walk in the door. I have never once experienced the "eye roll....oh dang, its a girl" which has happened on a regular basis at other gun stores. don't do it. had a shot gun go babeyond what I could fix myself. brought it to him he diagnosed the problem no problem "call you when its fixed" after three months i went in "couldn't get the parts delays in shipping" month later I ordered the parts got it in 4 days. Walked in he said " you got the parts?" Yes come back next Friday. Come back that Friday he never touched it. He said come back in 30 minutes I made it 45 mins. He comes out and says he broke a punch I'll call you when it's fixed. Then he adds "I hate working on benellis" I knew then I'm 6 months in to this and it won't be fixed for bird season. So I go back a month later pick up my gun and all the parts are in a zip lock. He said I can get the parts for 300.00. I said I'll think about it. It's a disorganized mess however I'm sure it works out for some but I won't be going back. read more

I needed a feed latch re-staked on my Remington 1100. I called up Ray and he agreed to do the work on the same day (Saturday!) about 30 minutes before closing. He took apart the shotgun, re-staked the feed latch , reassembled the shotgun, and tightened the recoil pad in less than ten minutes while I waited with my son. What more could I ask for? I strive to support local businesses, and remain courteous in my interactions. I was told the simple coating work proposed would take two weeks. After two months, my item was not touched. Two wasted trips and several phone calls. Excuses were far ranging, including high humidity, being told how busy they are over and over, as well as being shown all the many repair and work tickets backed up. The high humidity excuse was particularly irking, given the weather and weeks of high pressure with no rain. I don't like being BSed. They get two stars for at least being an open gun shop in Northern California. read more

I found del valle while looking for an FFL to take and transfer my online gun purchase. Before purchasing the pistol I went in to talk to Joe... this man will take all the time to answer any questions about any fire arm you have. Purchased the pistol online, they received it, Mary called me with a pick up date and time. It can't possibly be any easier. I have yet to meet Ray, but belive me from reading what others have to say when I need ANY work done with my fire arms I'll be taking them to Ray. Just because a gun smith tells you he doesn't deal with " borderline" (ar15 pistols) fire arms doesn't mean they deserve 1 star that tells me they have the knowledge and skill set to be around for a very long time. I followed the owner in when he opened his shop. An old couple had a old Winchester that needed repairs. It was only a couple minutes before his posted opening time. I was 5 feet behind him. He did not turn around to lock the door. As I passed the entryway, he turned around and demanded to know what I wanted. Stated in such a ruded and loud manner I knew I was not wanted in his shop.
