Unfortunately the quote was so high at the other stop that we were thinking about just purchasing new chairs instead of repairing our old ones. We decided to check with Arnold's Upholstery before giving up and we are sure glad we did! We found nearly an exact match of the material among the hundreds of rolls of material he had in stock. I was nervous whether he could match the decorative seam on the front of each chair, as well as the sewn in seam material around the seat edge and back, but he said he could do it no problem. His price quote was significantly lower than the first shop, so we decided to have the chairs recovered rather than search for new ones. We dropped the chairs off on Friday afternoon and he called to let me know they were ready on the following Monday morning. Unbelievably fast service and we couldn't be happier with the craftsmanship. Excellent work at an affordable price. Highly recommend this shop.

He was able to store the repaired barstool for a couple weeks for me as he completed the repair while I was out of town. Once I returned, he stopped by the very next day to deliver the repaired barstool. While the repair was on the expensive side, Mark does quality work and is a real craftsman.

I went to Richard upon a friend's recommendation. Boy, was she right!…read more Richard's show room is pretty dusty as are his fabric samples, but don't let that put you off. Bring your piece, choose your fabric, and watch Richard figure out an estimate on a notepad. I gave Richard a channel backed, asymmetrical chair that I bought for $5 at the Alameda Flea Market thirty years ago. Since then, I've hauled around this mouse nest of a chair thinking that some day I'd get it re-stuffed and re-upholstered. I told Richard there was no hurry and I still got my chair back in less than three weeks. It is just gorgeous! He did a beautiful job on the channels, and for a very reasonable price. Not cheap, but reasonable. I highly recommend this very un-prepossessing business man and his work shop. I will be bringing him a recliner to re-upholster and a two tier claw footed table to refinish.

I hired Juan to restore/replace the interior of a 1977 camero - upholstery, carpet, dash-pad,…read moreconsole, door panels, carpet, seatbelts, door weather stripping, etc... I purchased all required parts. The job was supposed to take 4 weeks, but took 7. The first attempt to pick it up, I noticed immediately that the instrument cluster in dash came loose when he changed the dash-pad. The speedometer was literally tilted forward and down. The headlight knob was dangling and the lights would not turn off. I ended up having to leave it another day. When I picked it up the next day, I noticed a couple small things, like how he monkey rigged the glove box to stay in place, as it was broken and hanging from the dash. At this point, I decided to get the car out of there - I did not want him to touch anything else. Once I got it out of his dimly lit shop, OMG! The upholstery work was acceptable - a couple loose areas and messed up stitching in a couple spots. Almost everything else was terrible! There are so many issues that I have to have fixed, it's hard to believe this guy does this for a living! I texted Juan and Juan Jr. the below, when I got home. No response from them! 1. Window moldings not replaced 2. The ac will only blow at feet. The duct was broken or removed when doing dash pad. 3. Window switches pop right out of the nasty hole cut in console. 4. Front seats are loose 5. Bottom of back seats are not even connected. 6. Both plastic seatbelt guides were broken during installation 7. Not sure what the bracket contraption is under glove box, but it's hanging and obviously broken 8. Driver window only rolls half way because it's binding on something due to door panel installation9. Door handles still broken. I'm surprised they were not repaired with a screw when panel was off, or you didn't tell me I needed new ones. - I'm sure there is more. You ripped me off. There is no way you didn't know all this

I went in to buy a sewing machine and not really knowing what I wanted, there were a least 7 machines set up to look at and try. He explained all of them to me of what each one would do. I ended up buying Elena 580. When I purchased my machine he told me that I could come in for lessons on how to use my sewing machine. After, using my machine for a project I started another project but the thread started doing odd things. I phoned him and he walked me thru to troubleshoot the problem. Yesterday I went into learn different things the Elna 580 does, so excited to play with my machine this morning. I was so excited last evening that I could barely sleep. I had owned 2 singer sewing machine in the past and after they both needed repair which cost me over $100.00 they didn't work right.
