It seems like these days buying a car is more complicated then ever because big dealers, small dealers, and medium dealers all have and sell the same inventory. After visiting and trying to purchase a vehicle at well known name dealerships I found the best deal at Del Toro. What I also learned was that all dealerships buy their inventory from the same auctions so really it is all about the deal, which in my experience is much better in a smaller dealership. Beware buying a vehicle from this dealership,unless you have it inspected. They sell "as is" unless you want to cough up for a warrantee. My 2016 Town and Country is now having it's rotators, struts and steering linkages replaced. I'd noticed some flutter while driving it home and had it checked at the local Les Schwabb. Seems the dealership had replaced the brake pads, but left the rest for the unfortunate buyer - me - to deal with. While leaving a SAFETY check sticker on the windshield. I bought my car in Auburn. I can't remember the dealer it was almost two years ago. It started falling apart within a few days of bringing it home. The door frame on both sides and different parts of the inside. Most importantly the rubber on the passenger door in the back. it leaks and get totally watered down on that side. it only took a few days for it to be a huge disappointment. Dealer told me if I had any problems they would help me fix them. When I called about a week after bringing it home, they told me it was an as is sale and that they couldn't help. I thought about writing a review and then didn't want to take the time to do it. I've been thinking about it a lot lately because my son is looking for a used car. He wanted to go to Del toro. I told him about my car and after that discussion, I thought I'd better let others know so that they don't get scammed like I did. Yes I declared bankruptcy in oct after my ex destroyed his life in 2020 and stopped helping with any financial support for our two kids. Not that this matters with how I should be treated but I have had a professional job with the same company for over 10 years, have paid my mortgage on time for 8years and have never been late on a car payment. I have been approved for financing from westlake financial even in my current status. I also have a cosigner. Westlake financial gave me a website to their cars they can finance. Del toro had a car I inquired about late last night through WESTLAKE website. This morning a woman from del toro called me. I explained my situation and she told me they wouldnt finance during a bankruptcy. I then asked their auto shop name so I could check it off the list and when they told me Del Toro I pulled up Westlake financial to confirm their dealership was listed and verify they wouldn't take Westlake who had approved financing. They just said they dont work with them anymore. I asked when they stopped because im literally looking at Westlake right now and it's still listed. I asked if they were going to update their website and make sure they aren't false advertising their car on Westlake and I was told hold on let me check on that. Then a gentleman answered out of nowhere and I asked im sorry can I get your name. At which point he says "what do you want?". Again, Very nicely I said "excuse me, why are you talking to me this way, I was put on hold and you came and answered and I was shocked so can I please get your name". Ive talked 5o so many sales reps the past couple of weeks. He says "how about this" and hangs up. I was totally shocked because up until that time our conversations had been professional and courteous. I called back and the person who hung up on me answered. I asked to speak to a supervisor at which point he told me he was (still wouldnt give me his name) and asked again "what do you want" super aggressively. I told him they cold called me after I inquired from Westlake and I dont deserve to be talked to or treated this way. He starts yelling at me that ive been threatening their sales rep and have been rude amd harassing. He continues to yell at me that they didn't cold call me and I didnt find them on Westlake (see pictures). At which point i said he was completely out of line with how he was talking to me and I would never do business with their dealership and hung up. Please do not go here. I recently just purchased a Range Rover from here. At first the experience was great. Rico talked a good game. I even went on his behalf and made a good review. While expecting the car I noticed a stain(appeared to be oil spot). Was able to get them to jack the car up took a look and was told that the oil filter was right above. So I shrugged it off like yep that makes sense. Mind you the mechanic told me it was a supercharge Range Rover-- it was not. Should tell you how much their Master tech knows but I knew and still wanted the vehicle. Not two days later I started having some issues with the vehicle. It seemed to be electrical. The gauge cluster went out. I texted Rico... not a single word till this day. (Update) it's been 3 weeks since I've called Rico and texted him... today (06/5) is when he called to ask about the title.. Did he even bother asking how our Range Rover was doing? Of course he didn't. Cause they knew what was wrong and they couldn't be transparent about it. They actually ended up buying my car... I still have the title. My BMW had a check engine light on and began running rough. I took it to the BMW dealer and they gave me an estimate for almost $3500 and they couldn't assure me it would fix the problem. A friend of mine recommended I take my car to Nuno at Del Toro. He was able to correctly diagnose the problem and fix the car for just under $1500. I have always been reluctant to have anybody but a dealer work on my cars but I was super impressed with the work they did and will be bringing my car back for any future work that needs to be done. read more

Run far away. I bought a 2011 BMW in May and had to put new tires, brakes, starter and had transmission service 2 weeks after owning it. I told them 2 weeks after my purchase that they sold me a car that was not drivable. Ron told me it's buyer beware and it's my fault I bought the car. But if I towed it there they could 'look at it for free' but I would have to pay them to fix it. Now they won't stop calling and trolling me. I've purchased 5 cars and 3 motorcycles in my life and I've never had such a horrible experience anywhere. DO NOT buy a car here. We've taken the car to the dealer many times since July for this issue and here we are in December. They want to charge her $3300 for the brakes that was not a listed issue when bought. If she knew that she wouldn't have bought the car that is a safety hazard on wheels. No option to look at other cars they just want her to be stuck with this car. "We're just a family owned business" Well you shouldn't be a business if you're going to rip off people there's no excuse for that. Really nice to know this company has a history of doing this. I was happy when I FIRST bought my car, but then the first thing happened, I didnt realize they didnt have a spare key so I had to spend over $300 for that...after telling me they would get me one. Next w/in a week I had to get oil change, another $200 because it was giving warning sign AFTER I bought the car. It was not really an issue but the next issue is what really made it all just terrible & why I decided to put up the review. I am 2 weeks into purchasing car and have to get new brakes & roters which are costing me another $675. I was told if I had any issues when I bought this car they would be there for any issues, so far 3 times out of 3 requests on the TWO WEEKS I've had this car, they have been anything BUT helpful. If you are looking for a car don't let their charm FOOL YOU, I'm just disgusted with the service. Don't get me wrong, I love my car but had I known the issues they covered up just so they could sell this car until it was too late, I would have went somewhere else. My husband bought a camaro from a place down the road & I wish I would've went there, they have been so helpful with him. DO NOT GO HERE - HEARTLESS SCAMMERS I've been looking for a mini cooper for a about a year when I came across a super cute 2006 mini cooper at Del Toro that was going for 7450. I set up an appointment for the following weekend to go look at it. When I tried to ask about negotiations and trade in estimations, I was told negotiations and estimates could only be given in person. That wasn't a problem for me, as reading Google reviews all said they were friendly and helpful. I was wrong. I brought my dad along with me to see the cooper. When I arrived, a 16 year old kid was out front waiting for us. He took us to the mini cooper and asked if I wanting the key. Everything was super quick, as if they wanted us in & out in a snap. The kid opened the car for me, and I got in. He then proceeded to tell me he knew nothing about the car, didn't know what the buttons were for, and was figuring it out at the same time as me. What kind of a salesman is that? Still, I loved how cute the car was and didn't mind if I needed to figure it out myself. However, the guy pulled it up front so we could give it a test run. When he went inside to get paperwork, My dad noticed there was a puddle where the car had been and where it was moved to. My dad popped the lid, checked under the car, and realized the radiator fluid was leaking, meaning it would most likely need to be replaced, the entire radiator. The guy (boy) came back, and we took it for a short test drive. When we got back, My dad brought up the fluid. The boy immediately said, before even checking where it was leaking, oh yeah its something small probably its not going to be a big deal the shop guys are the 'best' and can fix it super quick. He proceeded to tell us just 'not to worry about anything because they put a 'safety OK' sticker on the car. Apparently, the sticker means everythig on the car checked out. How is that for assurance? Still, I loved the car and was hoping the fluid might not be the worst case scenario. I then asked how much my car, a 2014 Ford Focus with 74k miles would get for trade in value, something I mentioned I wanted to do in an email. The boy took a pics of the car and went inside to ask his 'boss' for the numbers. They said they would give me $700 for the my car. INSANE. They wouldn't budget on the number either. The wheels I just got put on the car costed more than $700 alone. After I said no about the number, the 'boss' came out mad and said they are particular about their car selection and actually just don't want mine. ? Still, I wanted the mini cooper. So I asked the lowest price they would take for it. They then said the online price I saw when I made the appointment 74500, was no longer available and it had to go at the selling original price, 7900, but that they would give me a $500 discount at the most??? They acted like it was my privilege to buy one of their cars. They are scamming people left and right, low balling everyone too. I'm so glad I did not buy the mini cooper because looking at other reviews, people's cars also break down as soon as they leave the lot, so I know that fluid coming out was definitely a bigger deal then they let on. These people are so cocky, and just out to make money. I drove 8 hours to get my car, I wanted it so bad, but they were nothing but rude to me and wanted to make me look bad. I had been looking for an early 90s Toyota pickup with a 22re engine and an extended cab for over 6 months on craigslist and just about every car lot within 50 miles of my home in Everett. I was close to giving up and getting a single cab when I stumbled across the truck I had been searching for on Del Toro's website. Sleek grey, body in great shape for a 93, matching canopy and only 168,000 miles (this kind of truck is well known for lasting to 300,000). I will admit that I had hoped to buy my truck from a private owner. I can't stand dealing with pushy sales people, and I wasn't in the mood to haggle back and forth. However, these guys had the exact truck I had been looking for. I called ahead and spoke with Mike, one of the salesmen. I told him I was on my way to have a look at the truck, and what I would be willing to pay. Mike was rather pleasant to talk to and told me my offer was reasonable and to come down to Auburn and have a look. When I got to the lot the receptionist was able to get Mike for me right away. We jumped right in the truck and took it for a test drive. The truck ran well, and was 100% exactly what I was looking for. During our drive, I told Mike that I would pay the amount I had offered in cash, and that I didn't want to haggle. He told me that he had already spoken to his manager, and that he could come close but that the lowest they could offer on a cash deal was about $500 more than I wanted to pay. To make up for it he would take the brand new 11.5 wide tires off of a trade in they were going to scrap and put them on my truck, since the original tires only had about 50% tred. I shook his hand and drove my new truck home. All in all my experience with Mike and Del Toro was completely different than I had been expecting. They were quick and to the point, down to business, and plainly stated what the price would be without a bunch of nonsense. I am so disappointed, bought the car from this place on December and just now got my title because they wrote my name wrong on the paper . Also within the first month , the engine light (2 different codes) was on and I called the manager (Ron) but never take care that problem (just ignore me ). (I guess all the deals are that , after you paid and walked out the door. That's your own problem) The car also have a oil leak. I didn't know that until I opened the plastic cover on the bottom while I change my oil. Not done yet. I went there ask them to fill out the certificate form to correct my name so I can get my title. While that lady doing that and there's a guy walked out and asking me how's my car doing and I told him my engine light is on and he took me to his car ( who knows that is his own car or customers ) , he said see the engine light is on now and had been on for 4years he told me. And said just ignore the engine light from the car because newer cars does like that. Lol. Are you kidding me ??? Also we had a deal walk out the door price and after the license plate and tab came they said they only cover 100 dollars for that and I have to pay the rest. Lol. What is walk out the door price mean? Then the manager "Ron" said you don't have to pick it up now. You can wait til you have the money to pay the tab . This business was my third stop after two days of searching. Everywhere else I went was also a smaller locally owned business. I have to say that this one looked the most professional, had the cleanest cars, most respectful employees, and a very nice mechanic shop to boot. I had found the car I purchased on craigslist. Went in a few hours before my appointment just wanting to look and the car and possibly take it for a test drive. The salesman I worked with (Adrian Avena) was very helpful and not pushy for the most part. Most dealers want to get you inside and show you numbers before you even get to drive the car. Not these guys. Spent about 3 hours in total here going back and forth in my mind about whether this $8,500 investment was actually worth it, especially from a small family owned dealer. After the lead (CJ) came out and talked to me a little further and put the vehicle onto the car lift to show me the undercarriage of the vehicle. Explained to me the few things they had taken care of upon receiving the vehicle and I could see for myself clear as day! After some discussion about money and how I was going to pay, I was able to come away happy and satisfied with the team down at Del Toro. I will be recommending this place to friends and plan to come back here for my next vehicle in the future! read more
