I've been a regular customer here over the past five years. At my last visit all of the employees looked busy so I grabbed a smaller cup that looked the same as what I had been handed in the past when I asked for a water cup and filled it with water only. Someone who I can only assume is a manager came and flagged me down, rudely demanding that I pay for a normal drink. Despite explaining the situation and years of patronage, they still insisted that I pay for a drink, so I obliged to avoid confrontation. And get this, they took the plastic cup I had and threw it away and gave me a medium paper cup instead which completely invalidates the claim that they care about me taking a cup that's supposedly not for water. What a scam. That took it from annoying to downright insulting. I will not be returning and I suggest anyone who reads this also avoids this location. read more

I came from Big 5 with my 92 year old grandpa who needed to use the restroom. He has dementia and doesn't speak English. They would not let him unless we ordered something, apparently because of people breaking into the bathroom on the side of the building. I asked if I could give them $1. The workers/manager said no I have to buy something. So I asked what was the cheapest item. He said something for a dollar and change. I gave him $2. He tried to start ringing me up, and I said please just keep it and open the bathroom quickly for my grandpa who was about to have an accident at this point. Will never visit Del Taco again. This used to be my favorite Del Taco. The food was more consistent than it is these days. I'm finding the sauce lacking in flavor, but worse, my fried food has come out lukewarm and stale lately. It almost tastes as though they're making it in batches and throwing it together when an order comes in. I'm talking about the crispy chicken tacos and fish tacos, which are good when fresh. I love Del Taco but they always mess up the order when i come at the drive-through. The food isn't hot either most times. Looks like they renovated the inside with clean new seats and tables. Fountain drinks are well carbonated. My tacos were pleasantly beefy, cheesy, and tasty fresh! Bean n cheese burrito was awesome! You can tell they upkeep this del taco. Will recommend and visit more often. Oh yea, the del taco double cheeseburger has the original buns! Rolled thru the drive thru on Tuesday night and had no idea they had a taco Tuesday deal. 3 tacos for $1.49? Okay! Bad Del Taco. A fanchised store with an owner that is notoriously cheap. The tacos tend to be greasy. The food isn't up to the normal standards set by Del Taco. The worst part, is the staff. Rude, unhelpful, antagonistic, dismissive, and criminally negligent are a few adjectives that readily popped in my head. I've eaten at MANY Del Taco restaurants. I used to manage several, so I know a bit about how they should be run, and this store is not run how they should be run. The issue with the staff is inexcusable. Somebody was having a medical issue one evening, an elderly man was having some trouble breathing, and the staff yelled at him, without giving him the food he ordered and paid for, to GET OUT! I'd say I don't know what sort of sick person would behave like that, but I do, and they work at this Del Taco. Or perhaps, worked. I haven't visited this restaurant since that one incident (and I'd visited this restaurant a few times before, as it's one of the few restaurants in the area open relatively late), so I'm not sure if that person(s) still work here. Management may have corrected that problem, but I'll never know, because the incident I witnessed was just cruel. read more

Pros: + Reasonably efficient drive thru + They make the menu items well and don't skimp on portions like some restaurants do. + Friendly staff - I've only come here via mobile order and drive thru since Coronavirus started. Cons: - Mobile orders still confuse them, but it's likely the computer's fault. I've received the wrong order once and they try to charge me for other people's orders routinely when I have a mobile order. - Parking lot has three ways to enter the drive thru so there can be some traffic congestion as people may try to enter from different directions. read more

I ordered a Double Del Cheeseburger deluxe meal with chili cheese fries and no onions. This has to be one of the best Del Tacos in the country. I was gonna give this Del Taco 4 stars, because strangely I actually enjoy their beer battered fish tacos, and crave it quite often. However... lack of customer service kind of kills one star. == FOOD == - Beer battered fish tacos: This is my #1 choice here. The tortilla they use is below average; a bit too soft and feels kind of mushy when you bite it. But, if you add BOTH the medium spicy sauce AND the hot sauce, it all comes together into a strangely delicious combination. Not as good as Rubios' fish tacos, but does the job. - Carne asada tacos: #2 choice. My boyfriend doesn't like them, but I do. The guacamole paired with asada is decent. And when I get Del Taco, sometimes I don't want JUST fish tacos... ya know? Sure, the asada isn't that great (a bit too chewy), but what do you expect for a fast food chain? - Fries: Hmmmm. I used to think only McDonalds could do their fries edible. But in the recent visits, Del Taco served their fries piping hot, and I'm happy to say its crispy and not too thick. I hate thick fries - too healthy! The shape is in zig-zags; not my preference but will do. - Churros: Not a big fan of churros, but my boyfriend says they're decenttttt. == SERVICE == Auuuugh. This is where it goes DOWNHILL. The beer battered fish tacos are supposed to come with a lime for each taco. More than half the time, they forget to include the lime -- which actually makes a difference. Once, they even forgot to give me my medium Coke!! Time for an update. This location is about two blocks from home and as such makes for convenient fare. Also it is a drive-through which helps the decision process on the way home. That being said i do go there for the food. The epic burritos are great, and I admit to being a big fan of their fries and deluxe cheeseburgers. Another item i like is their "Platos" which give you a full meal-in-one. The fries are the best fast-food fries extant at the present time-they are completely peeled with not a trace of potato skin on them, the way it should be. Most fast food places keep the skins on when they are cut and the skin negatively affects the taste. That's just wrong! Del Taco fries are cooked just right and are soft and tasty. This in comparison to McDonalds fries which are typically overcooked, or Everest or Wendy's or Carly Jr. who leave the dammed skins on and ruin the fries. Overall the food quality is consistently fresh and tasty. I will probably go to Del Taco again tomorrow! read more

I've been coming to this restaurant for decades and the staff is always really nice. The shift manager tonight must have been having a bad night because he argued with me over the intercom when I was trying to place my order. I asked for cheese fries and he said "how am I supposed to make that". Really dude, you're a shift manager and can't put cheese on fries? It's not hard and you don't need to have a condescending attitude about it either. I'm really shocked at my experience there tonight. I've never dealt with such rudeness. Recently purchased a home in tujunga with my wife and we are remodeling our kitchen. Between that and both of us working, we really do not always have the time to cook. My wife and I have been here at least 5 times over the last month and not once have they gotten our order correct. I am not complaining to the point of wanting any serious repercussions for the employees. I understand we may come off as demanding customers to them, but I think it is fair to expect that they at least try and apply at least minimal effort. Perhaps we have caught them on bad days or perhaps they just got chewed out by a manager or a customer. Moving forward if we are in the need for something quick we will pass on getting anything from this location. I read an article a few weeks ago about Del Taco's alleged "Secret Menu." Apparently, no one at corporate has clued in the employees at this location about the secret menu. I have gone 4 times in a row, and no one at this location can seem to accommodate a simple request. My understanding is that Del Taco can make any burrito "wet;" that is, add sauce and cheese on top. The first time I asked, someone said that they can only do it for the Epic burritos. The thing is, I don't want an epic burrito; I don't want french fries in my burrito. In any case, if you can do it for the Epic, then do it for the Del Beef. Worse still, the following 3 times I tried placing an order for a wet burrito, the staff acted like they never heard of the concept and could not honor my request. The last guy even insisted that he could give me the sauce on the side (It is not the same - 1. they don't give you enough sauce, 2. they don't include cheese). At this point, I'm calling "bullshit," and the secret menu does not exist. read more
