A Fast Food Experience So Competent I Felt Obligated to Report It People usually only review fast food places when their order is wrong, their fries are cold, or somebody forgot they asked for "NO SOUR CREAM" like it was a legally binding contract. So I like leaving reviews when a place actually does its job well, because honestly, that's the real experience most people are going to have. I stopped at this Del Taco while driving from Phoenix to LA. I needed three things: food, speed, and a restroom that didn't look like the set of a crime documentary. This place delivered on all three. You order from a kiosk, but the employees were all friendly and helpful. The restaurant itself was surprisingly clean for a middle-of-nowhere highway Del Taco. Even the bathrooms were solid, they're outside and locked for customers only, which is honestly fair considering highway traffic can turn restrooms into humanitarian disasters. The food actually looked like the pictures on the menu, which already puts this location in the Fast Food Hall of Respectability. Fries were fresh, the fry container was actually filled up instead of being 40% existential disappointment, and the soda had carbonation instead of tasting like sad brown water. Best of all, we got in and out quickly and back on the road with zero issues. Sometimes the highest compliment you can give a road trip fast food stop is: "Everything worked exactly like it was supposed to." This Del Taco nailed it. read more

As good as any fast food Americanized taco chain store gets. The grilled chicken was soggy and less than appetizing but still edible. The beef Del Tacos were exactly what I'd imagined - no different than Taco Bell's standard beef crunchy taco except I will say, Del Taco is far more generous with the toppings. Terrible experience, eat at any location but this one. Went through the drive thru and the person taking the order got it all wrong. We repeated ourselves many times, and he didn't know how to correctly charge things (2 for 7$ burritos) specifically said no sauce on the burger etc Get to the pickup window and not only does it take longer than normal but when we get to the parking lot to check everything it's cold and wrong. Cold fries, burger completely wrong and no fork.. I walk in to the restaurant lobby to have this fixed and not one of the workers even addressed me. The shift manager Daniel Lopez just eyeballed me. The person who took the order started to argue with me/got combative. I eventually just asked for my money back and the name of the person who took the order as he had no name tag and I planned on calling corporate. All focus is on getting the drive-through taken care of before a walk in. I did have the chicken Carbon taco and it tasted fantastic. I would highly recommend this taco to anyone. I was completely shocked when I found out that I was only allowed ONE salsa packet PER taco!!!! How this business is still open is beyond me?!?! I asked again because I couldn't believe my ears and the lady behind the counter just pointed to a sign where this was protocol. Normally I would have argued on how this was possible, but after seeing many videos of people arguing at fast food restaurants I just walked away and left my food there even though I had already paid for it, refusing to eat the way THEY wanted me too. Hit this Del up a couple months ago. I swung by the drive thru scene and grabbed some avocado beyond tacos to-go. Which by the way is prolly not the easiest thing to eat while driving in the car lol My food came out quick and I was on the freeway in no time. This location is pretty convenient because it is right off the freeway. My tacos were made well and they did soft tacos instead of hard like I requested. I am a big Del Taco fan and I am always stopping at different locations when I am traveling for work. I just finish having lunch and the food just tasted better and fresher at this location! We were traveling through after Christmas and saw this Del Taco. Sometimes when we're on the road I get hungry for some greens. I ordered their taco salad. It was delicious. The greens were crunchy and even the avocados fresh. The staff was super friendly and the place clean. There was a little goof with getting my order together. The salad was done but the other part of it not seen so there was a little longer wait than expected but all was good. We would definitely return. read more

DANIEL, the "manager" would not replace my messed up order from the day before. This is because someone didn't do they're job and write my name down on the manager Desk. Daniel the manger first agreed to compensate my order with a refund as discussed. Then when I pulled up for 2) $1 bean and cheese burritos, and 2) chocolate shakes. He said I owed him $12 dollars. It sure seems like I've been eating at a lot of fast food places lately. Always in a hurry and don't have time to stop for a longer break. Well, if that's the case and you're headed from LA to Phoenix, this is a good place to stop for a Double Del or some soft chicken tacos. Why only 3 stars? Well, for a place that's almost in the middle of nothing (for that part of town, right off of Bob Hope and across the highway from a casino), there seems to be a number of homeless people wondering around the businesses here. Note that it's not just a Del Taco issue, it's the other places at this exit. Don't get me wrong, I'm not heartless but I think it can discourage families from stopping in if they don't feel comfortable. Hence, they lose a star more so for the outside environment than the restaurant. That being said, the bathrooms are outside and you need a token to use at least one of them. That lost another star. If it's 110 in the summer and I need to stop somewhere to eat and use the restroom, I'd like a bathroom inside the restaurant. But, the food is on point for a Del Taco, the staff is friendly and seem to get along which I believe helps to make better food. So, if it's not raining, not 110 outside and you're in the mood for something from the Del Taco menu, give it a shot. Enjoy! read more

Disgusting! They have customers ordering inside with their restrooms closed! People pulling in off the freeway on the way to the river and stop to go potty and grab a bite. Last evening while sitting in the parking lot eating my In & Out a truck with 4 passengers pulls up next to me. They all hop out and go to the door, signs say no public restrooms! So guess what they did, walked around back behind some bushes next to the drive thru and did their business! They then went inside and got food! Touched the doorknobs, ordered and paid. No hand-washing! How could they? No public restroom! This is disgraceful and you should be shut down or at least given a hefty fine. Next message will be to the health department! read more

Received empty tacos. Return and explained to manager. Manager says "we'll what's the problem!" Very rudely. At that point I told her to look at the tacos, she didn't even look at them and explain they gave me the wrong order. She knew she gave me the wrong order and still acted like she had no clue why returned. At that point I politely said I just give me a refund. Then had to repeat that to her multiple times until she gave me my refund. She Handed me my card and receipt. She shut the window and walked away. No have a nice day, no sorry or anything. Just a cold shoulder after recovering the wrong food. Had to read my receipt to verify I was a return since the person helping me walked away. This Del Taco is within walking distance to my home. What a mistake to come here for early dinner in 11/17/19 at 2:15 P. This is the THIRD time we have gone for Double Del Cheeseburgers. All THREE times the buns have been chokingly DRY! Dryer than the sand the restaurants sit on. I didn't eat at the facility. I brought the burgers home. They were bought with a coupon. No fries. No drinks. I understand this is a taco place, but if you can't serve up FRESH buns for an item on your menu, why bother to advertise them? If you can't keep the buns fresh how about buttering them and throw them on the flat top? No wonder I never see very many people's cars in the parking lot, even though you are in the 10 freeway. Del Taco - 5 Stars Doordash, Grubhub and Postmates - 0 Stars Del Taco's always great! I used to sneak out of my jr high school to go to lunch at the Del Taco on 40th St in San Bernardino in 1970! I'll bet that if they tested me they'd find out that I'm about 60-75% del Taco. Love their original tacos, mild sauce and burritos with green sauce. Now with this coronavirus I try ordering delivery to my house which is about 1 mile from del Taco. I get the order confirmation, "Thank You!" "We're making your food!" "Door Dash or Posemates" or whomever "are gonna deliver your order!" But they rarely do. Del Tacos doing their job! I bet Del Taco is getting sick of making delivery orders just to have them "system cancelled" because there's no delivery people available. And all the while Im getting smoke blown up my tata with all these text messages, "Oh so- n-so, your GrubHub driver is on his way to the restaurant!" and "Oh so-n-so your Postmates driver is picking up your food now and double checking....blah blah blah!" Bullllllsheeee-it! Cuz after I been out to the end of the driveway to look up and down the street trying to see if there's a car driving around real slow, looking lost because my food is 20 minutes later that what THEY specified, my phone receives a "You Del Taco order has been cancelled" text! Are you flippin SERIOUS??? Then what were all those status reports from Grub Hub for? How much food is Del Taco having to throw in the dumpster because of these lame delivery services? I usually spend $4 or $5 at del Taco and Postmates and Doordash are cancelling $25 orders I've placed! Sometimes 2 in a row! If they don't have any drivers available why dont they let the restaurants know so customers aren't wasting time placing orders they'll never get? Because they're greedy bastids that's why and they MIGHT have a driver when the order is ready and Grubub does't give a flip about what del Taco or I am going through. Then I still have to go get my money back! Doordash likes to reply with, "Sorry we can't compensate for that" when I call to tell them that half my order was missing. Postmates sticks a sticker sealing the bags closed that claim "Double checked for freshness and accuracy!" When the delivery is over an hour since I placed the order and I know del Taco can prepare any sized order in like a minute an a half! I've been to this location twice. Both times the beans in my burrito had a weird taste to them. Both times, I was asked to pull around to the front and wait for my food. I've been coming to this Del Taco for years, usually just through the drive through. Today, we went inside because we had a larger group. The manager immediately told us there was a 30 minute time limit. He was very rude and didn't give any explanation. We were trying to have a fun lunch for my nephew's birthday, but we ended up feeling rushed. I have never heard of a restaurant giving customers a time limit. This is hands down thee best Del Taco in the Coachella Valley!!! The food is made very well in very big portions, I was extremely pleased with the accuracy and time my order was made in. The staff is very friendly and are more than happy to help you with anything you ask for/about. The Drive-Thru is very easy to hear and understand from both ends.The dinner tables were all clean, the floors were spotless, sauce packets always stacked, fountain drink station well organized, and the menu was close up enough to see. Haven't seen a better Del Taco in the Coachella Valley coming from someone who practically only eats there. 10/10 read more
