Macho fries

I finally had a chance to come to this Del Taco near my work. I really love Del Taco fries when it's done right. I brought my lunch for work which was just carne asada and chicken but I wanted fries with it. So I decided to come to this Del Taco to get fries and a drink. I was deciding if I should order from the app but I figured they won't be busy. This Del Taco is right off the freeway and I pass it so many times. I found parking easily since they were not busy and when I went inside they only had 1 guest waiting. The lady working did take a while to come take my order but when she did it was quick. I got a macho fries and a large drink, I went with the cherry coke since they still have the soda machine here. My fries were out quick and I took it back to the office to eat it. My friends were not seasoned at all but good thing I had salt and black pepper in the office. It helped along with the ketchup but it tasted to me like they overcooked the fries or the oil was not quite ready because it was just okay but not like other Del Tacos.

We love Del Taco!! We don't have very many Del Taco's in Northern California. We happened to be in this area for a wedding and were jumping for joy to see a 24 HOUR Del Taco nearby! We actually stopped by here 3 times in 2 days to grab food. Not sure what the bad reviews are all about. We enjoy Del Taco when we're in Southern CA as their food taste more fresh than Taco Bell. Their sauces are highly addictive as well!! My favorite is the black packaged sauce!! My favorite items to eat at a Del Taco are either the chicken roll ups and chicken tacos or the breakfast items. My husband enjoys the bean and cheese burritos the best. Service for us was pretty quick each time we stopped by!

This specific location is a hit or miss. They are either really good or bad, there's no in between. Sometimes I get everything I order and other times I am missing things, because the cashier didn't input it on my receipt. I do notice that that anyone working the drive thru doesn't seem to listen and I have to repeat myself once more. Inside is a little better, but service is slow even when there's no one in dining in.

SLOWEST SERVICE EVER - took over 15 minutes to make two Breakfast Crunch Burritos. In addition, several other orders were being prepared for the drive thru that came 5, 10, even up to the 15 minutes before my order was completed. Ignored the dining room customers who were there first to attend to the Drive Thru who kept coming thru after. As well, toasted?!? The wrap was barley toasted/grilled. Staff properly, just one more person, and they would be set.

The gentleman gave us 36 packets of ketchup and hot sauce for TWO meals!!! WTF

Terrible, absolutely terrible. Went for a quick breakfast meal in the drive thru line. The gentleman taking the order totally screwed it up. It started with ordering a number 15, substitute fries for the potatoes and a coke with no ice. Well we got CHARGED the full amount for the fries, not the normal.70 cents and the coke was WRONG flavor and had ice in it. Second Order was a number 16 meal with coffee. Simple right? The gentleman taking the order reaffirmed that we wanted a number 16 4 times by saying, "what number?" And a "number 16,Right" By the time it took to order, I figured the gentleman wasn't a good listener and didn't give two shits. NEVER GOING BACK. Hire someone who has a brain.

The drive through worker was awful to us he didn't repeat the order he didn't respond and he came up to the mic and left and took his sweet time to come back to help us. very rude man he also started arguing with another customer in the drive through over churros he needs some new training or to find a new job and he cursed at us as we where leaving when we asked for his name

They prepare the food fast and the place is clean. Dislike the flying moths / flies flying around.

If you're looking for tacos, burritos, or nachos in Simi Valley, this is definitely a place to check out. I do have a couple of suggestions. Both times I've ordered a burrito, it was filled with a lot of rice. I understand keeping costs down, but I'd like to see a better balance of ingredients. I also think the service could be more attentive and welcoming. When you walk in, it isn't clear whether you should seat yourself, and the staff are often in the back. A friendly greeting and a little more attention would make the experience better. Overall, I had a good experience, and I hope the owners and management take this feedback in the spirit it's intended. There's a lot to like here, and a few small improvements could make it even better.

They had Thursday…read moreNight Football on, which meant that we could stay and eat our dinner until half time, then head home. When we arrived, about 6 p.m., we were the only ones in the place. The young cashier at the register immediately sprang to duty when we walked in. He greeted us and offered to answer any questions we had about the established menu items, or the daily specials. His friendliness was probably the best part of the visit. The dining room is clean and bright; not really decorated in any particular style, which is too laissez faire for my taste. In thinking about why I didn't enjoy it more, I reflect on Snapper Jack's Taco Shack in T.O., for an example of what an inviting, fun atmosphere can be. Urban Taco's ambiance is bland, very vanilla. The food turned out to be only okay. We didn't know how big the tacos would be, or if anything came on the side. After we ordered one taco apiece, the cashier suggested that most people got for at least two tacos, as they aren't that large. I decided to order a gyro for us to split, as it was more than double the price of a taco, so I figured it would be more substantial. My salmon taco with mango salsa was just so-so. The salmon was dried out and didn't have much flavor to add to the mix. The gyro which DH and I split was more satisfying, taste-wise. The cucumber sauce upped the flavor profile. The meat, while tasty, and tender, was lacking in quantity. Unlike the aforementioned Snapper Jack's, which offers either a side of rice & beans, or a handful of chips, plus a generous salsa bar with accompaniments as part of each order, Urban Taco just gives you a taco, or a gyro. No sides at all. That was disappointing. A few chips and some salsa would have been appropriate. I wasn't interested in any of their beverage options to purchase, so we went with complimentary water flavored with lemon and cucumber. Overall, not the best value in town. Not "expensive", but for only the listed items and no sides, lacking in satisfaction. I don't think we'll be rushing back.

I ended up ordering their Cookie Butter Latte and it was so delightful. So far, all their drinks are spectacular but I think it's the Maui milk that just hits every time. Now the interesting part was that they advertise cooking with Beef Tallow which I found disappointing. Unfortunately it seems like Makenna fell for the MAHA nutrition misinformation and nonsense and think cooking their food with beef tallow is healthier for you than cooking with seed oils. *Sigh As someone who has an education in nutrition and health, I have to say this was disappointing to see especially after looking forward to ordering their food. FYI beef tallow is not healthier to cook with than seed oils. Seed oils in isolation is not inherently bad for you. In fact, there's an abundance of evidence that shows seed oils aka polyunsaturated fats reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and LDL cholesterol. The part that gets misunderstood (especially if you're relying on social media and influencers for health advice) is seed oils are usually used to cook ultra processed food which is a COMBINATION of high fat content, refined carbs, excess sodium and added sugars. So it's not the seed oils alone that's unhealthy. Polyunsaturated fats are a healthier alternative to saturated fats like beef tallow which is silly to consider for cooking because you're just adding more saturated fats which raises LDL cholesterol and increase the risk of heart health. So yeah thanks for coming to my TED talk. But in all seriousness just felt the need to spread the word. Really wish Makenna can just go back to cooking without beef tallow and then I can try their breakfast burrito and all the other deliciousness! Everything else was chill though. I'll still be coming back for their amazing drinks.

My friends and I came here for dinner the other night and I was absolutely blown away by this spot…read more Visually, it's a stunning place and they've done a fabulous job with the aesthetic as it's the kind of place that feels like a party. Neon lights, cute signage, and overall they just did a really great job with the design and execution. There's a lot going on but it doesn't feel cheap. Ambiance is definitely A+. For dinner on a weeknight we found this spot wasn't too busy but we also came after happy hour. It was a relaxed vibe. Service was overall pretty good. I felt like all of the gals working were very very sweet and nice. Also, anytime we stopped them to ask for refills and such we got what we asked for. That's my only upgrade as since it wasn't super busy, it would have been nice for the staff to catch the refills on water or salsa on their own/more proactively but hey, it was again a relaxed lowkey night and the staff couldn't have been lovelier. I'm just curious how the service would be if they were super busy? Now on to the food and drinks. The menu was very impressive! Solid cocktail and drinks menu. I'm bummed I didn't get a cocktail but my party doesn't drink so it was more fun to get an agua Fresca with them. The guava one was good and served nicely chilled. However, next time I'll definitely get a cocktail because their drinks looked fun and beautiful. The food was definitely the standout for me. I ordered the cheese enchiladas Suizas and they were a 10/10. Not comparable to most enchiladas I've had but the sauce was fantastic and unique. I really loved these enchiladas and I'd honestly get them again. Solid flavor in the rice and beans as well. My friends also enjoyed their meal and it seemed like everyone was happy. The pricing is a little steep for Mexican food but also the ambiance and presentation make sense to me why it'd be a little more. For the three of us the bill was over $100. And that's for three mains and three non-alcoholic drinks. Normally at $33-ish a person I'd hope for at least a beer with my enchiladas, so keep that in mind. As a special occasion place or a spot to celebrate this spot is truly fantastic. I honestly loved my meal so much that even with the price point I'd rush back and bring more friends because this spot is vibey. Nice staff and a cute spot to diner, 5 stars in my books given the quality, taste of the food and the overall experience.

I also saw they had a taco flight. I knew I had to try those as well. I wanted to try all the different meat options to find the flavors I like. The Birria taco was my favorite flavor. Some of the meats were a little dry. I wish they had a little more flavor to them. They gave me two different salsas to add and that helped. But I would definitely like to see the flavors of the tacos improve. I always crave sushi. That was a must try for me. I thought I would try the fiesta mariachi roll for the first trip here. It was delicious. I'm craving more! I think next time I will have to try some of the other sushi options since this one was so good. Also since they basically have flights for everything..... I would love to have a sushi platter flight... with my margarita flight! I will definitely go back. I can't wait to try more menu items. The staff was all very attentive and friendly.
