I wish I'd gotten his name The music was good but it was a little too loud I couldn't hear the other people at my table, and they are not quiet ladies. The walk to the bathroom was an experience though. It felt like you were entering catacombs so weird. Otherwise everyone working there was nice, all 3 of us love our food, the starter portions were more than enough for one person to have as an entree. Sharing between 2 people would be a good portion but idk the size of entrees because we only got starters. Seemed nice and clean too Enjoyed our time here, we will be back

After today's experience, I'll never be back. It's unfortunate, because I've been to this place…read moremany times, and their food is very good. Although their prices are high, $16 for a torta, it's usually worth it, because their portions are quite generous. Earlier today, I ordered a torta to go, and I ended up extremely disappointed when I got home. It had literally half the meat, half the beans, and half the cheese that it normally does. This was the first time I'd been disappointed with their food, but I decided to call and express my dissatisfaction. I was passed to the manager who handled the situation in the most unprofessional way. I explained the issue to him, and he insisted that my torta today had the same amount of meat, beans, and cheese as always. I disagreed with him, and he responded angrily, "Everybody makes mistakes!" He raised his voice and repeated it a couple of times. It was completely bizarre that he chose to speak to me as if I was the one who'd done something wrong. It's very childish to do a subpar job and then get upset and frustrated when you're called on it. An adult apologizes and pledges to not blow it again. Anyhow, I don't tolerate disrespectful people so I'm done. I won't spend another penny there.

The beans were hearty and cheesy, the red rice tasted like home, and the tacos were delicious. I like the green salsa better than the red because that ones too spicy for my personal preference. The carne asada fries are always a hit and they have a half order if you don't fill like eating that much. The horchata was fire and they have Arizona Ice Tea. This restaurant is always clean and friendly when I come. I always receive a welcome and a smile. The cashier let's us practice our Spanish with no judgement. I appreciate the small things. COCKROACH Believe me!…read more Never thought it would happen to me. First, the host took long and never brought the menu. The waiter brought it, okay. The host brought the tortilla chips. I found a hair in the chips. It was underneath some chips and the rest sticking out. Okay, a hair, asked for new chips from the host since he was passing by and brought the first. I asked for some fresh ones and told him there was a hair in it. Didn't say anything but looked at the chips to see what I was talking about. I got through part of my burrito and felt something oddly crunchy. I was like, wtf, I took it out of my mouth and it was dark and flaky. Part of it looked red and part just too dark. Since I saw what was reddish, I thought it was a roasted pepper , that didn't seem right though. I thought I was a pepper, kept eating. Had some a third of the burrito left and was getting ready to ask for a box. As the waiter was passing, I started looking at the crunchy thing I took out of my mouth and took a closer look. It became more apparent that it was a ROACH . Yes, I unfortunately ate part of it if not most of it. I had been there a few times and never had an issue. I was still in disbelief but asked him what it was. I placed it in his hand. He said it looked like shrimp, that it turns dark when it's cooked, but it still shouldn't be there he said. I was just tripping on it and was like, no, but then was like it has to be. What else could it be? There's no way shrimp gets like that, I don't eat shrimp. I don't know what it turns out looking like... They didn't charge me for the meal. Marco's first reaction though when I told him was like ugh, you're going to put me through this and went off looking back at me. Yes, I put him through it. His service was mediocre but still gave him a decent tip. You tell me what it looks like. I was nauseous and disgusted all night and to this day. UNBELIEVABLE!

They are too good for me to try other things, so it has been all tacos. I like the combo, al pastor, asada, guisada, and they are great. The rice and especially the beans are very tasty. The Guisada taco was the only meat with any flavor, it was good, but where they messed up is in the tortillas; they were dry and tough...yes, tough. They were not properly heated and should have been brushed with a little bit of oil. 5/10 The asada and al pastor literally had the same flavor. They were bland, needed some additional spice and seasoning. You can taste a bit of the marinade that was used, but it's very subtle. 3/10 "Fish" taco had a good, homemade corn tortilla, soft and pliable, but that's about the best I can say about it. The 3 miniature, skinny filets of fish were a joke. I'm sure the cooks were laughing as they made it. When I opened up the container, my first thought was that they forgot the fish. I had to dig up under all the cabbage to find the minuscule pieces. They should be ashamed. Again, this was very bland just like everything else. 2/10 Salsas: Red-only heat, no flavor. Green-watered down, no flavor, the limes had more flavor than the green salsa. Pineapple-bland, but was the only one that had a bit of flavor. I liked that it wasn't too sweet. This place will go on my NEVER AGAIN list, which is sad because I love to support small businesses, especially vegan/vegetarian ones.

A colleague spoke very highly of Taco Shack and after a close examination of the menu, I was in shock to see a California Burrito on their menu. I had to try it. The result? PERFECTION! The staff working the day I came in were kind, patient, and quick with orders. The establishment itself is a counter service type of spot. I'm thrilled to have found Taco Shack and will definitely be stopping by again to try more items off of their menu. I usually order items with shrimp, and it seems like there is rarely much shrimp in them. The biggest concern for us, though, has been the cleanliness. When we came today, we watched an employee wipe down all of the outside tables using the same rag. At one point she unfolded/extended the rag and it was literally black from how dirty it was. Seeing that same rag being used from table to table honestly made us uncomfortable and didn't seem hygienic at all. We like coming here, so hopefully they can pay a little more attention to cleanliness and consistency with the food because those small things really do make a difference.
