Empenadas
Josh W.

We decided to do something a little different for dinner one night here when we happened upon this spot. It definitely had us at empenadas AND pasta. We had a feeling it was gonna be great and we were right. Reservations are recommended because this place gets busy at night. We lucked up and got seats at the bar. Emily, the bartender, was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The ambiance was upscale but relaxed at the same time. -Baked beef empanada -Baked spinach empanada -Baked chicken empanada -Homemade lamb empanada -Fried shrimp empanada -Butternut squash soup -Creature Comforts Bono Pilsner -Piedra Negra Reserve Malbec -Khalua cake w/ vanilla ice cream -New Holland Dragon's Milk We thought we were gonna start with the empenadas and order a pasta dish afterwards. However, the empenadas were so good and filling that we only had room for dessert. Those empenadas were all awesome too. And trust me, the Khalua cake paired with a pint of Dragon's Milk is a perfect pairing. We'll absolutely be coming back here next visit.

What a perfect little place for dinner. We have been here with my family several times when we are in town visiting our son. The staff is always inviting and provides the perfect amount of attention. The menu does not have a huge selection of options but they have perfected everything they offer. Consistency and value are what set Del Sur apart from other restaurants. My personal favorite is the salmon with the skirt steak a close second. It has become one of our favorite restaurants.

We wanted to take a break from eating seafood since we ate a substantial amount since we got there. I saw this on the way and thought we check it out. We all agreed that they had us on Argentinian empanadas. Since we didn't make reservations, (spontaneous visit) there would be a wait or we can sit at the bar. We opted for the bar. They had plenty of seating. Which was comfortable. The inside is small yet inviting Emily was our server/bartender. She was very attentive and great to talk to. If you come here, It's a must you try their homemade Empanadas. It was hard to choose that we ordered all on the menu. They also serve pasta, appetizers, entrees and steak. We ordered: Dinner: -Baked beef empanada -Baked spinach empanada -Baked chicken empanada -Homemade lamb empanada -Fried shrimp empanada (daily special) Drinks: -Creature Comforts Bono Pilsner -Piedra Negra Reserve Malbec -New Holland Dragon's Milk Dessert: -Khalua cake w/ vanilla ice cream We didn't have to wait long for our meals. They were out right away. All of us really enjoyed the Empanadas. My favorite was the chicken, lamb and beef. My fiancée REALLY loved the shrimp. My mom fell in love with her soup and Empanadas as well. I thought we would have room for some pasta, but what we had really filled us up. We had a little room for dessert. Oh my! That hit the spot! I highly recommend you check them out. This place is amazing and has great service!

Burrata caprese salad with prosciutto

Waiter was so accommodating. Restaurant stopped serving at 9pm, but some friends were nearby and wanted dinner. We were already starting on our entrees, but our waiter told us to tell them to come, pulled a table over so we could be a four top, and happily took their order. Salmon and rib eye were good. Coarse salad with prosciutto was the perfect starter - light and flavorful. Didn't like the risotto as much -- a little gummy, but the roasted vegetables were excellent. I could have ordered roasted vegetables and only ate that and been satisfied.

Wow! Absolutely everything we ordered here was superb! This time around we were in Georgia to visit my brother and my sister in law. Boy oh boy! I recommend going to eat here! Better to make a reservation though. Highly recommend it. If not you get be there when it opens. Since we didn't make a reservation that's exactly what we did, we were there when they opened and got to sit outside. Fortunately the weather was gorgeous out! While waiting we enjoyed a beautiful sunny day with a cool gentle breeze. We ordered after a few minutes. Everything started coming out little by little and with every plate that came to the table each and our mouths started to water. As we all tried eachothers food (because it is a must lol) we eagerly waited for the rest of the food to arrive. Everything and when I say everything, I mean everything was delicious! The service was great as well! So we will return! We live in Orlando but it's worth the stop when in the area!

Was able to make reservations the same day on a Friday. My husband and I came for an impromptu date night. It was our first of many times going to this restaurant. Our waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu and was able to help us narrow down some selections to try. We also met one of the owners. He was very friendly and made sure we enjoyed the meal. Beef Empanada - 1000/10 I'm not big on bread but the breading on the empanada had a nice crisp to it. The beef was well seasoned and delicious. Skirt Steak - 1000/10 The steak is shipped in from Argentina and it was obvious why. It was a very tender cut and paired perfectly with the house made chimichurri. Mashed Potatoes - 1000/10 Very smooth and creamy just how I like it. Lamb Chops - 1000/10 Very tender and came with spinach/pickled red onions and fingerling potatoes. Everything amazing complemented so much flavor. This has easily become one of my favorite restaurants! We loved the authenticity and the diversity of the menu.

Shrimp Risotto

I decided to find a quaint place to have dinner and found Del Sur. The weather was pleasant and they had tables outside . I had the Fig Negroni to start . Appetizer, Black Truffle Burrata Salad , Divine ! Full of flavor . My entree was Shrimp Risotto. The sauce, mushrooms, and shrimp on a bed of risotto was delicious. I closed my eyes with every bite and savored the layers of flavor . I felt like I was in Italy .Thank you to my server Krisann for your hospitality and service . Your exceptional service does not go unnoticed. Thank you .

Rigatoni bolognese

The rigatoni bolognese was amazing. The baked beef empanada was also so good. Service was 10/10 and the atmosphere was so genuine. I recommend for a nice dinner.

Stopped here as it's a DDD. The empanadas here are amazing, even when you take leftovers and eat them cold lol.

Absolutely a hole in the wall on St.Simons Island, but totally worth it…read more It smelled amazing as we went inside. Seating is a bit tight, but thats ok when the food is so good. We ordered cheesy bread sticks and the sauce tasted like nostalgia and Pizza Hut. We also ordered a deep dish everything pizza that was delicious as heck.

We made an online order for two pizzas to be charged separately . when we arrived to pick up the pizzas, they rang both orders on the same card and the second order charged for two pizzas. So essentially we paid for three pizzas on one card. We didn't realize this until we got home with our pizza. We called immediatel, but they couldn't find where they had charged our card. What?! so the next day we went there with our receipt and they still didn't understand what we were trying to explain and couldn't find the order on their computer. They wouldn't give us the overcharged amount but instead gave us a card on which they wrote Free large pizza. The overcharge was for the amount of a specialty pizza., $27.--. Tonight we ordered online once more and ordered our 'free' pizza. we ordered a specialty pizza like before. When we picked it up and gave them our free pizza card they said it was only good for a cheese pizza and charged us extra for each of the toppings that were included in the specialty pizza which came to $12.95. So not only did we get overcharged the first time but we got cheated again the second time. Needless to say we won't be back. This is not customer service.

Dinner: Dinner was amazing! The Cresta de Gallo is absolutely incredible with the mushrooms and Parmesan. Highly recommend! They also had a killer Cesar salad with anchovies. We ordered espresso martinis and sazeracs at the Tavola bar and they were perfect. The bartender, Parker, is just the BEST and she even remembered us from our visit last year. Dinner food and drinks and Parker were 5-stars for sure!! Breakfast: The Tavola breakfast experience is different from the dinner experience. Our friend ordered a $14 "fruit smoothie" off the menu and they brought out a glass of Bolthouse Farms Berry Boost Juice in a glass. The same one you get at Walmart for $2.50. The waitress was kind and polite and brought him a replacement which was Bolthouse farms green juice, but certainly not a smoothie. The eggs, sausage, and coffee were all pretty good and the grits were great! If you come for breakfast, get the grits and coffee! They have a breakfast buffet on the weekends, but we were there during the week and ordered off the a la carte menu. Service is always exceptional here and we appreciated the staff's kindness and attentiveness to our requests.

Garibaldi's Cafe - Crispy Diamond Scored Flounder

We used to love Garibaldi's so much, as we would drive 3 hours from Columbia SC to Savannah GA, and…read moreback just to enjoy the scored flounder. So, after moving to GA recently, we decided to go back for my birthday. We enjoyed the atmosphere of the old Italian look of this place. We could not have asked for a better table location as we were all the way in the back and tucked away in the corner, very private and romantic. The only issue is the circular coach seating was worn out, and I knew with bad back I might in for an uncomfortable night. The service itself was professional, but not very friendly. While most staff members seemed to smile and appeared to be enjoying themselves, our waiter acted like he did not want to be there. As for the food, it just did not measure up to the past, as there was 1 great dish, 1 OK dish, 1 not so good and 1 just bad. We started out strong with Denver Lamb Ribs with a sweet Ginger soy sauce glaze. Easily the best rib dish we ever had. We debated on our next dish between the Lobster Cocktail or Stone Crab Claw and unfortunately went for the Crab as it had years since we had some. We both agreed the Crab meat did not seem fresh as it was mushy and the sauce lacked the tang of a traditional Stone Crab sauce. We both ordered the Crispy Scored Flounder as that is the reason we came here in the 1st place. The dish is a Flounder, that is scored on both sides into easy chunks to eat, with and Apricot Shallot Sauce. Overall, it was an OK dish, but not as good as either of us remembered as it could have used more sauce on top of the fish. We finished up with a poorly executed Bourbon Pecan pie. This dish looked (see picture) and tasted not much different than a Little Debbie pie you buy in boxes of 10 at the grocery store. This small round piece of pie had zero Bourbon sauce or flavor whatsoever. The dish seemed so out of place both looking and tasting, that I went to see what others posted on yelp, and what we were served didn't even come close to previous dinners experiences. Not a great way to end my birthday dinner.

Was expecting that same experience tonight but that was not the case. We orders drinks, no problem. Apps and salad were a little slower than usual but all good no worries. Then they forgot my soup, not a big deal, I'll be quiet it's busy, I'll just wait for my ribeye. One hour later, no steak. 20 more minutes nothing. My mom is falling asleep at the table at this point, almost 10pm now. I ask the manager to just close my tab, no steaks in sight. The manager comp'd our food but we still had a $100 tab and like i said I was still pretty hungry. Dunno what's going on there but not happy about it.
