Otter Creek has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I'm 28 now and have been coming here since I was a kid. Even though we're from Virginia, whenever we're in Patterson, it's a must-visit--some things never change, and this place is one of them. I had the Surf & Turf with a 10 oz ribeye and fried shrimp, along with green beans. The steak was tender and flavorful, and the shrimp were golden, crispy, and fresh. We also had the Stuffed Flounder, served with cheese grits, a baked sweet potato, and coleslaw--a true Southern plate, made from scratch and full of comfort. The meal started with a warm dinner roll and a fresh side salad with thousand island dressing, and we finished it off with two incredible desserts: Chocolate Meringue Pie and Strawberry Shortcake. Both were rich, homemade, and absolutely worth saving room for. They're only open Fridays and Saturdays right now, so make sure to plan ahead. Been driving past here for a year and read all the reviews. All I can figure is someone is writing rave reviews for them. Started off by making reservations through the app. Get there and they state that they don't take reservations for two. I show them the confirmation and they say well it's not right. Made us feel extremely unwelcome from the jump. Seat us at a table for six. A table for four comes open and they have us move to that one. Wait 30 minutes for someone to come take our drink order. Wait another 20 minutes for someone to take our order. At the one hour and 15 minute mark, we get our salads. The tomato in the salad is rotten and molded. Bring it to the server's attention and the manager walks over and states that's how they come off the truck every Thursday. I'm sorry, the server makes the salad and can clearly see when produce is rotten. At the one hour 30 minute mark, we finally get our food. I order the stuffed crabs - biggest mistake ever. I received three frozen crabs that were 100% gummy stuffing mix with some onions and peppers - no crab at all. The baked potatoes were ice cold and the butter wouldn't even melt. The steak my husband ordered was a worn out shoe. The majority was fat and was left on the plate. I couldn't even eat my dinner it was so disgusting. The servers and owners never once checked on us, talked to us or made any attempt to make us feel welcome. The reviews claimed that the desserts were homemade yet the sign under them showed Cheesecake Factory. Please save yourself the time and trouble and avoid this place. What a nice surprise to find this hidden gem. Enjoyed grilled Mahi-mahi with a nice salad and great bread. Baked sweet potato was piping hot with cinnamon and sugar on the side with butter. An amazing little gem hidden deep inside Blackshear. This is the best restaurant we have eaten at since we moved to Waycross over a year ago and we are foodies! The prices are reasonable and the family service is top-notch outstanding. The Surf&Turf is a great choice and be sure to try the homemade Coconut Cream Pie. We found this restaurant while visiting Waycross. The location and ambiance is wonderful and very low country. The interior is very dated, but also what gives this place it's charm. I ordered the seafood platter. It was very good and plenty of food but was a little heavy on the salt. My wife ordered the steak tips. They were a little over cooked and came with onions and peppers. My wife despises onions and was fortunately able to pick them off. It wasn't a big deal but the menu nor the server mentioned anything about onions. Definitely order tea if you're thirsty as soft drinks are offered in a can only. All in all I would eat here again but would try some other local eateries first. read more

I have driven by the sign leading to this place for years. Finally some friends introduced us to this place. It is off the beaten path. Located on on a creek in the country. We had a wonderful experience. I ordered their largest ribeye (14 oz). The steak was cooked perfectly and the flavor was surprising! I believe they marinate their steak; one of the best I have had from a restaurant in a long time. The homemade, twice baked potatoes are great. Oh, and did I mention the homemade desserts? My wife had their chocolate pie, and it was delicious. Servers made us feel right at home like they knew us forever even though it was our first time dining here. Be sure to save some bread to feed the fish from the dock on your way out! My kids loved it. We will definitely be back. Well worth the trip to find this place!!! read more
