Another girl comes over and asks if we've been helped and I said "i don't know she asked how many and then just walked away." The original girl walked over and said "I'm taking care of it." She then grabs the menus and walks over to our table and tells us to stay over by the door. We were confused but whatever, she then starts throwing the tables together and slamming things down on the tables. She finally tells us we can go over there and doesn't speak to us again. We later see her walk out the door. Hopefully that was her last shift because good grief. This happened 3-18-2026 around 4:45-5:00 so whoever was our host with the space bun hairstyle who looked at us like we had zebra prostate on our face, I hope you had a better day because your sour attitude nearly ruined ours. As I mentioned, we chose to come to The Standard specifically because they had actual food (vs just snack food like many breweries). Unfortunately, we arrived when the kitchen had closed to prep for the aforementioned private party. This meant a significant wait to even place an order for food. We tried to wait, but this was going to be a deal breaker for me; I was starting to feel ill from no food and beer tasting on empty stomach. Fortunately someone (owner? manager? or their best, kindest employee, I don't know), helped me out. I am so grateful. We stayed, and once the kitchen opened back up, my husband and son also ordered food -- the chicken and waffles were awesome. Sadly, the Chicago dog was not that great, but OMG the Theta Burger which I couldn't even finish was the best thing I've had in years!! If I ever come back it will be for the Theta Burger.
