As I explained multiple times, I am very aware of the contraindications associated with brow lamination services and did not use any acids, retinoids, or other products that would have compromised my skin before or after my appointment. What I find concerning is that your conclusion appears to be based on speculation rather than any medical evaluation. The fact remains that I developed redness, irritation, and scabbing in the exact areas where the chemical products were applied within 24 hours of the service. Delayed skin reactions following cosmetic chemical treatments are well documented and do not need to be visible immediately after a procedure to be related to it. I also find it disappointing that throughout this process the focus has been on defending the service and assigning fault to the client rather than acknowledging that adverse reactions can occur even when procedures are performed by experienced professionals. At this point, I am not interested in a redo of the service. My concern is not the appearance of my brows, but the reaction that occurred and the lack of accountability shown in response to it. I came in for a consultation regarding eyebrow lamination and tint, and I made it very clear upfront that I had concerns due to prior chemotherapy and radiation treatments. I was left standing there feeling dismissed and unheard. There was no effort to answer my questions, guide me through the process, or make me feel comfortable. To make matters worse, I was simply told to "book online" if I wanted to proceed. Without any real consultation or support. That is not what I would expect from a business that provides personal care services, especially when a client is expressing legitimate health concerns. This experience left me feeling even more anxious than when I walked in. Compassion and basic customer care go a long way, and sadly, neither was present here. I want to start by saying that my technician, Carmen, does excellent work. She's professional, fun to talk to, talented, and the quality of the lashes themselves was consistently good. The salon is clean, well lit, and the atmosphere is relaxing. That said, the membership structure and billing practices are confusing and not customer-friendly, and that ultimately led me to cancel. The salon offers a monthly membership that includes two refills per billing cycle. In practice, if you go every two weeks (which is a very common refill schedule), your appointments will occasionally fall just before the billing reset. When that happens, you're told you either need to pay out of pocket for the visit or move your billing date forward and pay the full monthly fee early. There is no proactive warning when booking that a visit will fall outside your available credits. Nothing about this was clearly explained up front. I had to ask multiple questions to understand why I suddenly "didn't have credits" despite being on a paid membership and coming regularly. Once explained, the math may technically work -- but the structure almost guarantees periodic extra charges for clients who come every two weeks. This isn't about the technician (again, Carmen is great). It's about a membership model that relies on billing-cycle timing rather than real-world client schedules, which creates avoidable confusion and unexpected costs. If you're considering the membership, I strongly recommend asking very specific questions about billing dates, credit resets, and how often you plan to come so there are no surprises. Also, I was drawn in by an advertisement for a $99 offer for my first set of lashes. Wonder how many people actually leave paying less than $200. read more

Listen. I am generally a reasonable person and have worked service jobs for years so I get people make mistakes and I tried really hard to remain level headed about this situation but I'm shocked by how this business handled my complaint. I got a lash lift with Anyra on Saturday at 5pm for $150. I've gotten lash lifts before without a reaction. My right eye was fine. Left eye little watery and blurry but I thought that was par for the course and let it rock. Two hours later it is way blurrier and red enough to land me in urgent care on a Saturday night. I explained the situation and the doctor diagnosed it as conjunctivitis/ eye irritation and gave me an ointment. The visit itself as well as the prescription cost even more time and money. Next day even with the ointment decreasing the redness my eye still crazy blurry and inflamed. Manager calls and says they do not do refunds but if I wait until my eye heals they'd do another lash lift with a more experienced tech for free. Anya is a master tech, respectfully again I know everyone can make mistakes but I do not have ANOTHER urgent care and ointment in my budget so I asked for my money back. They said they'd talk to their other manager. Monday morning my eye is watering and still painful enough that I had to take off work bc it'd be a hazard to drive folks (I am a social worker working with unhoused individuals) around with this eye issue. I sent them my after care paperwork and get a call from the management team saying that they are free and clear bc the notes say I have conjunctivitis and that I had it before the service. That is where I reallllllly must highlight the lack of accountability bc I had no symptoms of eye irritation beforehand. The urgent care visit was late at night on a Saturday. The notes explain this is due to the service. To blame it on me is reallly really lame but also doesn't make sense... is this insinuating they'd complete a service on someone who already had eye irritation? Hypothetical as I 100% did not have any symptoms before the service but still devoid of accountability. I wasn't even trying to blow this up seriously I'm just trying to get the money for the service that landed me in urgent care back. Never mind the money and time it took to get medical care and take off of work bc of the service. Based on some of the other reviews seems this really is a business about their money and not thoughtful customer service. Salon is immaculate with comfortable tables and a calm atmosphere. I was greeted warmly at the door by my technician Carmen who made the check in process very easy. She explained the options clearly providing easy to understand visual examples and gave good advice. This isn't my first time trying a deka lash studio but it was my first time trying one in the dmv area. First and foremost, everyone is super friendly and I love the decor. They offer you blankets during your sessions and you can even opt for some under eye gel pads for an additional fee. They still require face masks and you cannot be serviced if you don't have one. Sometimes they have some on hand for $1. I originally signed up for a service because it comes with two fills a month which is a great money saver but I wasn't prepared to have to pay full price for my first service and then have to pay again for the actual membership. I did get the opportunity to try three different lash artists and I had three entirely different experiences with each. My first experience was a little disappointing because upon completion, I had lashes fall out and the next morning I had an unusual amount of lashes fall out but customer service was amazing and they told me to come on in and that they'd fix it free of charge. I met my next lash artist which kept me coming for a while but I was still experiencing lash retention issues, I'd have lashes falling after the appointment instantly and overnight. It's for that reason I opted to try a new lash artist. I didn't even know they had master lash artists! Which is super cool. I found out when I was searching for available appointments and I just have to say, Gisele is amazing. I definitely can tell the difference from having a master lash artist versus another one. I didn't have a single lash fall off since my visit and she was so attentive during and after my appointment. I had cancel my subscription because I was traveling too much and couldn't handle the traveling and maintenance but if you're looking for a girl boss place that has lashes and fills included, check them out and definitely check out Giselle! read more

I've been going here for roughly six months now. Prior to getting my first set, I use to apply my own lashes with glue and false lashes off Amazon. I figured I wouldn't pay the $$$ price to have them professionally done. However, after trying one time, I was changed! It's sooo much better! They're natural looking, saves me like 10-25 minutes getting ready in the morning (waiting for the glue to dry at perfect time, then applying myself). Far as pricing, Deka Lash is the best pricing in the area, all the ladies are state certified Estheticians, the environment of the business is clean, they put in a nice touch of giving it an "upscale spa feel" with offering a clean blanket as you get your lashes. The restroom is always clean and has nice added touches of a "home environment" (all natural soap, lotion, cute decorations). I've been seeing Giselle, and cannot say anything better than the fact she's top notch, truly listens to your requests, very friendly and professional, and her work is very good (many compliments from friends and strangers on my lashes). Far as the owner, I have interacted with her once, and she was extremely friendly, and got on my request right away even when I could hear she was off work. Update 6/4/2020 My positive review for Karen remains 5 stars. This updated review is based on my membership cancellation. Issue at hand- Not returning during COVID and dekalash is charging me the full 219.00 even though I will not be going to the studio. 1. I understand small business were affected but so were families, I don't feel like I have to justify my reason other than it was a financial decision. 2. Yes, they froze the membership when they were closed but can't believe after all this they want to charge a full month cancellation. I don't want to use the 2 lash fills for the month because I will have no lashes again(like none) when these fall off. It's been since April and feel like they still haven't grown back. (This could be different for each person, I don't know) 3. Again, The lash service is Great so this is not a negative reflection on Karen just felt like my concern was brushed off when I requested they not charge me for the cancellation. 4. Side note- i've now seen what happens to lashes once my extensions fell off and I won't be getting extensions again. (My personal choice) I wish this business would re-consider not charging the full 219.00 for a service I will not be using. I signed up to be their lash model (where you work with their new trainer for a discounted price) and unfortunately had a poor experience. The session was super relaxing, but once I left the shop my eyelids were sticky and individual lashes kept falling into my eye. The next morning, I had about 50% of the new lashes left. I decided to call the shop to unenroll myself as a lash model and was met with a super cold receptionist. She was really rude with me and acted as if I owed her something. Not once did she apologize or try to comfort me. I understand that this is a new esthetician and she needs practice - but they had stated that she was a top graduate from her cosmetology school. My first appointment was great and I bought the classics membership, but the lashes didn't last passed a week so I contacted the manager and she gave me credits because this was my first time which I really appreciated. I booked my second appointment with Ashley and she was AMAZING. She always took care of me and made my lashes fit my face/eyes. Paid extra to get an appointment with Giselle since she is a master lash stylist and I wanted a natural look. Although she was so nice and made sure to ask me lots of questions, the end results were not flattering. When she first showed the lashes to me after she was done my first thought was - "Wow... They are really long". But I thought that's just because I wasn't used to having anything on my eyes and decided not to think anything of it. Later in the day, when I met up with my sister and mother they immediately commented on how unflattering the lashes were to my eye shape. I also saw my friends that night who said the lashes made me look "trashy".
