They help me navigate through the long, involved process of purchasing a suppressor. I would…read morerecommend these folks to anyone serious about firearms and shooting.

10-06-2026 Invoice #: SO43245…read more Customer #: A4470 I ordered a firearm from guns.com because it was out of stock everywhere else I looked. Modern Kinetic Research (hereinafter referred to as "MKR") is a local gun dealer in GigHarbor and has an FFL on file with guns.com. Accordingly, I purchased the firearm online with guns.com and had it transferred to MKR. On 10-06-2026,MKR called reporting that they had received the firearm that I purchased on guns.com. Accordingly, I visited MKR in Gig Harbor and filled out a Background Check Form. I also paid $33 for the background check and unwittingly paid the $150 transfer fee that Modern Kinetic Research assessed. Almost every gun store only charges $50 for a transfer fee. When I later examined the invoice, I observed that the transfer fee assessed was $150, and I honestly thought that it must be a typo. Accordingly, I called MKR, and asked about the exhorbitent transfer fee. I was transferred to "Mason" who asked whether I had ever purchased any guns from MKR before. I responded that I purchased three firearms directly from MKR in the past. Mason then said that he would reduce the transfer fee to $75 per firearm. I informed Mason that I purchased a second identical firearm from guns.com and arranged for it to be transferred to MKR as well. Mason said that he would only charge $75 for the transfer fee of the second firearm as well. On 10-13-26. MKR called and said that they had received the second firearm from guns.com and that I could come in and fill out another background check form for it. I went to MKR and reminded them that Mason promised to only charge $75.00 per firearm for the transfer fee since I was a repeat customer who had purchased three firearms directly from MKR in the past. Mason then told his coworkers that he had no recollection of making such a promise. Mason then refused to transfer the second firearm to me at all. He said that MKR would send it back to guns.com. (out of spite) Mason had his manager call me and condemn me for buying firearms from third parties instead of buying directly them from MKR. He said that he personally raised the transfer fees to $150 per firearm to discourage customers from transferring firearms from third party dealers. Had I known MKR was going to gouge me like this, I never would have done business with them in the first place. I definitely will not be doing any business with MKR in the future!
