That is until last Friday July 17th when I went to grab a drink, and check out the overall vibe. When I arrived I paid the cover, and then went to go get a drink. It was a bit too crowded for my liking so I paid for my drink, and decided to head out after maybe about 20 minutes total. Right as I got to the front door this woman named Jessie Grabbed me by the shoulder, and started yelling in my face telling me I am 86'd from the bar. Not only did she assault me, but became very irate when I was explaining to her I was leaving anyways so I wasn't sure what the issue was. She the continue by calling me Tristan which mind you my name is not Tristan, and I was so confused by all of this. I know most of the bartenders, and they have told me there is no problem for me to be in there since, and that Jessie is a bartender there herself. She was not working and also like I said assaulted me, a paying patron on The Palace Bar. I want this to come to whoever's attention is most necessary as I did not feel welcome or respected at all in that moment. I ended up leaving, and she tried following me out of the bar while still yelling profanities at me. This behavior is very unacceptable, and I can move forward with any action if need be in the future. This is a great establishment, but again that behavior from an off duty bartender who didn't even have the right person is not ok in any way. I hope this can shed some light on a bigger issue in which she has created. Thank you!

There was not running water or a bathroom in the cabins but a communal bathhouse which was also clean and had toilets, sinks and showers, was within easy walking distance of all cabins/camping sites. Great thing about this location is it is located 5 minutes from the west entrance to Glacier National Park. Management provided 2 chips for free drinks at the Dew Drop Inn that is located at the front of the property. After we got settled we headed to the bar. It was cozy and welcoming. We sat at the bar and bartender was friendly and knowkedgable. He was making shots for other patrons and we opted for the alien brain hemorrhage, which had peach schnapps, Baileys, grenadine and blue curacao. It was pretty tasty but drink it quick as the Baileys curdles. They had a pool table, friendly patrons and a neighborhood bar atmosphere. Food is served until 9 but we were there later than that so just had drinks and walked back to our cabin.

My husband is very picky About his food and after the first bite, he said it was absolutely one of the best burger he's ever had. The same owners (the curly hair cougar and friendly older gentleman) have owned/run this place for years and have kept the vintage "ski feel"... The moment you walk in, it's like going back in time to the 80s. Hellroaring has solid gastropub fare (nachos, soups, sandwiches, salads, etc) for lunch and Apres Ski, along with more high-end fare for dinner. It was actually excellent. There are a lot of fancy adjectives in that description right there. I'm not sure if it tasted exactly like all those adjectives suggest, but it was mighty tasty and plenty lamby. Nice pork belly covered in their kale-forward power slaw. Pickled red onion for some tang, a spicy aioli, I was really surprised by how much effort this little place put into their menu. And of course, of course I had to end my meal with a slice of their Montana staple huckleberry pie. Warm, huckley, with an ooegy gooey crust and a huge scoop of vanilla ice cream. Just a wow way to end the meal. Overall, for what I was thinking was the mental equivalent of an overpriced, underperforming eatery in the middle of Walt Disney World, I was surprised at the ambiance, the service, and the food at this place.
