The Ragu on home made tagliatelle was so beautiful, not to rich like some other you night have had, but able to taste all the flavor in the dish. A special if you can get it they were trying out here was the Chewapchichi (Cevapi), a form of Kofta / Meatball made in Chef Anton's Croatian style. That is not the Meatball that is on the menu in a soft tomato sauce!!! Our party was seated on the outdoor deck/patio and the views were astonishing - to the side & behind restaurant, the lush greenery & architecture of the Belton hotel set a dreamy "Disneyland adjacent" scenery, while the front patio enjoys beautiful mountain/hills/tree views, with the addition of a train making welcomed appearances beneath the gorgeous landscape. Our server, Juliet, was a true delight - friendly, personable, and a stellar conversationalist with charisma to spare. For appetizers, we got the Alpine skillet (potatoes in sauce) and Shishito peppers. Each was so flavorful: the Shishito peppers were drizzled in a sweet chili sauce - a nice touch that I haven't seen before but which I really enjoyed - and the potatoes, though comparatively moderate, had an irresistible white sauce which carried them to the finish line. For entrees, we got their Red Thai Curry (a special), the Steelhead Trout (filet perched atop beautiful roasted carrots), and the Pappardelle with Elk sausage. Each entree was executed very well: the Thai curry sauce was vibrant without being overpowering; the trout was intentionally seasoned to be vibrant but unmolested by salt or sauce so that its delightful MILD fish flavor was able to hold stage; finally, the Pappardelle was a "ratatouille" moment for my sister and me as it was executed (quite well) like a traditional German beef stroganoff -- a dish we were served religiously as children by our German grandmother. For dessert, my dinner party enjoyed a slice of the Huckleberry cheesecake...which I did not taste...but which vanished beneath my eyes in matter of 20 seconds. The homemade pickles were mild and still crisp, and even my pickle hater friends enjoyed theirs. To end everything off, we ordered a whole huckleberry-peach pie. They don't sell whole pies typically so they offered us one of their pie baking tins if we were to bring it back. Sadly, we won't be in town past the morning, so we had to decline, but they boxed up our pie in pieces and we left on our merry way. If I came back, I'd probably go with the burger instead. Our bartender was really nice, and the staff overall was very friendly and welcoming. Wednesday nights are Ladies Night and they have dancing, although we didn't stick around for that. After a long day of traveling, we were just too tired and wanted to grab something to eat.
