I've been in the aquarium hobby for longer than I'd like to admit and I rarely come across a store that literally has everything I need in one trip. Usually it's one store for equipment, a different store for aquascape materials, one for fishes and corals, and oh... that one store an hour away that happens to carry the test kit you need. I came to DSC the other day needing the most random items; a Gh/Kh test kit, RO water re-mineralizing liquid, a TDS meter, and a RO/DI unit and they had ALL these items in stock. I've never experienced that before, usually I get the "Oh we can order that for you and it'll be here in a week.." comment. Lastly, I have to give a shout out to Maddy and Jaden (spelling may be off). Both of them are a huge help and great to chat with to find out about all the cool upcoming tank projects in the store. Talking with both of them the other day has convinced me to get back into saltwater tanks which I plan to do in a couple months. Jaden even gave me a brochure for the new Red Sea Reefer all-in-one aquariums which is exactly what I was looking for (See what I mean about they have everything)?! If you're in the Temecula area or just passing through I highly recommend checking out DSC, especially if you are in need of aquarium dry goods. No other shop in the area compares. read more

DSC is a class act. This is one of the last remaining hardcore tropical fish stores in our area, and it's a great one. Kyle's knowledge is extremely diverse in both freshwater and marine. The store is clean, the tanks are spotless, and his livestock is healthy. I was quite impressed with the freshwater specialty fish that the store offered. I can't imagine needing a store more complete than DSC especially considering Kyle's background and valuable advice. read more

A little while ago after we moved we had them come and service our fish tank and clean it and the next morning after they cleaned it all of our fish were dead. They ended up telling us that there was a disease in the water but i don't see how they were fine but die right after they came to clean our fish tank. read more

I have been patronizing deep sea creations for about 4-5 years now. I'm reading alot of negative reviews I personally have not had any problems. I drive to here from menifee because I like there selection and there knowledge is very high in the salt water category. To there defense on customer service when I get someone to help me I always have lots of questions and they take the time to explain anserws in depth. I know I'm not the only customer with questions since this is the way you learn in the hobby. Everyone's questions take them time to anserw and lets face it yelpers if they hire more people prices wouldn't be as good. That being said I would still rate the customer service at 5. I would much rather wait my turn and have them anserw my question in depth rather a quick anserw so they can help the next guy. I've been in the hobby for a while now and have studied forums, I feel I am pretty knowledgable in the hobby but always seem to learn something new from there staff. If you guys are looking for aquarium maintenance look no further! I've been really busy at work and kinda lost the time it takes to keep up on a reef tank I'm sure we have all been there at some point. From neglecting my tank things started to suffer. Hair alge, cyano parameters were out of whack so I decided to set up a maintenance schedule with them. Ceasar is fricken great, originally I had in my mind just a couple of appointments to get my tank back in line but after he came a couple of times I'm kinda hooked on the service. ( I know it feels like a cop out) but after caesar did the maintenance and recommended some things and made the changes my coral has never grown so good. Since I've started on the monthly service I've had no hair algae, cyano is gone and I love coming home to a sparkling tank. He really cares as if it is his tank and is not there just to do his job and go. I like this, and feel he goes the extra mile. Ceasar is very polite and trustworthy in your home. Just be careful though cause if your idea is just to have him come out 1-2 times the service is addicting and you will probably end up just continuing it. read more

I really wanted to like this place and make them my go-to place for my fish and supplies. When you walk in and talk to them, they give a good impression and you believe that they are going to take good care of you and provide good service DO NOT be fooled by their optimistic friendly attitude ... The bottom line is that they do not follow through. I placed a special order for some fish that they were out of but that they assured me they carry regularly and would have no problem getting within a week. I asked them to call me when they came in or also to call me if they learned that there would be any delay. I waited over a week and called them only to learn that they had not even placed the order yet and to get the same "1 week" promise. This was repeated week after week for 4 or 5 weeks. Every single week I repeated my request to be informed of any change in the expected receipt date. Every single week I waited more than 1 week and called them. Excuses varied, distributor was slow, etc. But I could accept that they were having unusual problems getting the fish ... I could not accept their total disregard for my requests to be contacted and updated. On my last call, I was again promised 1 more week. I was again promised a call if they arrived. I was again promised a call to inform me if there would be any further delay or change of plans. But I stopped calling back to ask again whether they had come in or were on the way. That was 4 weeks ago. The store never called me once either while I was actively counting on them or after I gave up on them and shopped elsewhere. Deep Sea Creations is a failure in my book. read more

Deep sea was able to prevent the potential structural damage from the original technician, they relocated my tank and sold me an awesome bio sump at a reasonable cost. My coral is now thriving as well as my fish. i hope others are made aware of the professionalism, attention to detail, and pride that they take in their work. After being taken advantage of by a different "so called" technician I couldn't be happier with their service. The staff is always fun and they are knowledgable, we really enjoy or weekly visits to shop and pick up water.

If Apple made an aquarium store, this would be it. It's a beautiful store. It's like going *to* the aquarium. Awesome selection of CUC critters. Good/OK selection of corals (last time i was there, there was a better selection). The guy that owns this place is super helpful. Plus, he has a demo of a Red Sea Max set up. Oh... and the live rock selection - Perfect! an area with 3 small acrylic bins of rock. Tongan (I was surprised... can't normally get this stuff), and 2 other kinds.. Tongan was $10 a lb! High! But it's rare nowadays. the middle bin was $5 lb looked like the usual stuff. and the last bin had 2 types, at $9 /lb. Anyway, so this place has prices that run high, except on corals and fish and some other stuff. LS was pricey but I picked some up and said I'd be back for the LR. To be able to hand pick that beautiful rock is worth the money. Great selection on Fresh and Marine Fish. Planted aquariums too. Lots of supplies. They are super friendly, and super knowledgeable. The cleanliness, selection and knowledge and friendliness of this place is great! Right next to Best Buy, easy to find. Edit: last time I was there, the selection was really bad... so I knocked it down a star. Otherwise a great place, and probably just have to check back. read more

I enjoy going here. The staff is decent an knowledgeable. As with any establishment, you should have an idea of what your goals and products are that you want to buy. Do your research if you dont want to get bamboozled. If you walk into a place completely oblivious, of course they will sell you a man eating shark they didnt want in their tank... wouldn't anybody? SW/FOWLR/Reef aquariums are not for the "hobbiest" that doesnt at least try to learn what is being put in his expensive water. If you just want to buy things, hire someone to manage your rig for you. This shop is top notch! I have been reefkeeping for 8 combined years, and I can tell you that I learn something new almost every time I visit. The staff ( including Kyle and David) have spent an unbelievable amount of time explaining product use, and livestock information. While they are a busy store,but they are always ready to help and truly seem to enjoy what they do. Last year I had a tank crash , and after going( in a panic) to the shop, and figuring out what to try to reverse it, I was hooked up with an incredible offer of help to hold onto my most prized corals( in their display tank !) while I got my tank through the recovery process...Saving me a fortune in lost coral! I can't tell you how many times I have recommended this shop, and this helpful, well educated staff! Livestock has always been very healthy, and one thing I like about this store is their honest suggestions.. even to the point of dissuading a potential sale, in the best interests of their livestock and your tank setup. I am somewhat of an impulse buyer ( only reef critters!) and have tried to tempt Fate a few times, with non reef safe, or incompatible livestock. And I can tell you, they will not try to sell you what won't work. It's not all about their bottom line. I bring my 14 yr old son with me every time I go, and he has learned so much from Kyle and David.. and has been treated so well there, that he hopes to become an intern when he gets his work permit, and hopes for a job opening in the future.. (Watch your backs, Guys! lol) Although they are not the nearest saltwater fish store to where I live ,I'll be happily bringing them my business for many years to come ( reef Gods allowing! lol). read more

DSC has the best variety of product hands down. They do cater to/specialize in salt water set ups. We have a fresh water tank and always find exactly what we need without having to go to a number of stores. The staff is helpful and friendly. They know fish. Very convenient when your fishies are hungry. Personally, the fish tank is my hubby's hobby, not mine, so I appreciate that I can sit on the couch and watch the beautiful sea life while he shops. I love this place! Good healthy fish, friendly employees (I could go on for hours talking to them XD gotta remember not to talk Kyle to death.), and a well-kept store. I have gotten several fish through my time as an aquarist and have not been disappointed! One of my favorite things about this particular store is that if a fish gets sick, they will treat it, and do so properly. I've been to at least one other store that simply lets them die. I have so far adopted both Bartlett's Anthias and a couple of Mandarin Dragonets from them. All have done terrifically well. The staff are wonderful, and it's terrific to have people to talk to who actually know what they're talking about!! Dry goods are a little pricey, but no more so than other aquarium stores. I personally buy my dry stuff online. That said, they've been quite the lifesaver when I need something immediately. 5 stars. The few times I've gone into this store the staff is never at the front desk. In fact I've had to knock a few times at the supply room door located waaay in the back to complete a purchase. I think a few times people have gotten water and after impatiently waiting to pay, just left with the water. The staff is barely knowledgeable about the product(s) they sell. I was told a few times the equipment I was interested in on their shelves was inferior and directed to a higher priced item they didn't carry/ have on hand. I've placed orders for fish then never called to pick up. Only after I walked in a few days after to see my order in a tank for general sale. They have a 10 inch fox face in a 60 gal tank with an 3-4 ft eel the poor fish is stressed and looks sad. A few times I've seen them get in copper band butterfly that slowly starved to death. Other fish I expressed interest in only to find it was a shop employees that they were medicating. So sick fish from another tank in the shop system?? If asked to get a frag from a main colony the employees just stare at you. I later learned that most of the workers cant frag coral. Some of the workers have admitted to only working their to get first picks from patron drop offs I.E. equipment. i hope this is seen by the owner(s) and improvements are made. read more

Tropical fish stores are not known for being the cleanest stores in the world as water splashes and salt creep destroys everything. The exception is this store. By fare the nicest most organized tropical fish store I've ever been to. On top of tidiness the staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Life support systems are exposed so you know the tanks are being well taken care of and they don't hide what's going on. The coral tanks are nicely lit by the latest LED lighting showing how amazing coral colors are. They have everything in stock that anyone could need and if they don't have it they will order it and it's in within a few days. I can't say enough about this store as it is defiantly a must stop shop for anyone who is into aquariums. read more

This is probably the nicest looking and organized LFS I've been to in a while. They usually have a nice selection of products, corals, and fish. The workers there are always helpful, and their display tanks are always maintained well, demonstrating some products they sell (a lot of mid to high end stuff). After recently re-visiting Deep Sea Creations I have revised and edited my previous review on them. I had given them 4 stars due to the fact that for the longest time. (Over 2 months) their coral tanks were 3 quarters empty. But recently after visiting their store I can easily say its the best place to find amazing corals for a reef aquarium. This store did a total 180° on their frag tanks and now carry among the best and rarest corals I've ever seen. There will be no disappointments when visiting them and I am glad to see this store come back with a vengeance. In my opinion the best coral reef shop in the area. read more
