One of the best stores I've been in and I'm from Orange County! Not a super big store but it was really clean, well organized and really welcoming. I really enjoyed all of their tank displays... so much so that I looked at each on at least 3 times. Nice collection of fish in the back for sale and all looked healthy, no overcrowding. I've been a customer of Deep Sea Creations for almost three years now. They set up my Red Sea120 gallon tank. Been a customer for a few years now and have to say that the staff, Kyle, David, and Ryan are very knowledgeable about all things fish and corals! I actually travel 25 plus miles because of their excellent customer service, extensive in-stock product inventory and their willingness to share their "fishy" wisdom and coral knowledge. They also will test your water and advise on products that can help you perfect your aquarium inhabitants environment. Recently, I needed antibiotics for a sick fish in quarantine and neither the Hemet local fish store or Petco had it. I was very happy to make a trip to Temecula as they had several different types of antibiotics and advice on the best application for our circumstance. Great aquatic store. Will take the time to answer your questions and try to solve your struggles. Awesome options for aquascaping. More tanks than most local aquatic stores. Sells a wide variety of Seachem products and is willing is special order a product if they don't regularly carry it. This store has a great RO/DI water program in which you can buy gallons and get some back free. I have not visited any other store that has a program like this. Will be returning and even though this is the furthest store from me (45 minutes) it seems to be worth the drive. read more

Awesome place!! I really don't understand why people have left bad reviews. At first glance from outside I wasn't expecting much. But when you go in its probably one of the cleanest fish stores I have been into. It's also way bigger then it looks! They have a ton of stuff... The coral selection is great.. they had buy one get one half on on all of the corals when we were there. . They range from $10 to $60 or $70 so they have a nice selection for any budget. The fish look healthy and the staff is awesome. They were very helpful and patient with us, even though we're beginners and had a lot of questions. I have been a customer here for a few years. I will say they have a great selection of healthy fish and good products. However, they lack in their customer service. I was in there on a Sunday and there were two employees working. One is busy helping a customer while the other one is having a personal chat on his cell phone on the leather couch! They didn't even acknowledge my presence. I could handle waiting a bit if they at least say hello and that they'll be with me shortly. This has happened on more than one occasion. It is very disappointing. Needless to say they are losing business with their poor customer service because I end up leaving after waiting so long. read more

A few months ago my 12 year old son decided he wanted an aquarium. Not knowing ANYTHING about fish and wondering if we should go salt or fresh, I took him to Deep Sea Creations. Long story short, he now has a 60 gallon salt water tank, has read 5 books (per their recommendation) cover to cover, and is learning SO much as he is in the process of filling his aquarium. We go to DSC about 3-5 times per week (he would go every day if we let him) and each time the staff answers all of his questions and takes the time to explain everything in detail. This place was pretty cool. One of the better reef stores I have been to. They seemed pretty busy while I was in there and every employee was helping someone. It seemed like they were having full conversations with the customers to figure out what would work best for each customer. They had a pretty good selection and decent prices. I would have liked to see more live rock though. I will be back to this store anytime I get a chance to pass through Temecula. read more

The staff is very knowledgable, they are pretty good about not selling sick fish. They do have a pretax good selection of dry good and equipment although they are a little more expensive than other stores. There selection of fish often seems sparse. Maybe I'm just coming in on the wrong days. All in all I do like this store. The employes are knowledgable and they won't sell you a fish that is sick. I just avoid buying dry good here read more

This is on the fish, and our experience regarding their fish. Iv'e ordered on two different occasions, with both taking over a month and by that time already finding the fish I needed. On another occasion, I bought quite a few fish, with most dying. The rest that survived were aggressive and ended up fin nipping at all my other fish, resulting in a few dying. I never knew about the picking until I actually saw it... I would also like to mention my water quality is normal, and I never had issues with fish like this before. Oh, did I mention that the employee's recommended these in a peaceful community tank, I cannot know how these fish behave, unlike them who should know if a fish is highly aggressive. I went to the store to try and return these fish for possibly half store credit? But nope, we need to donate them. Highly disappointing for this policy, will be buying my fish elsewhere... read more

We recently won a fish at a fair and went to Petco for advice and products as we are new to this. Sadly a week later our fish passed away. We stopped by Deep Sea Creations and spoke to Derick who was very knowledgable. There was so much more we should have done and would have done if we knew better. I highly recommend this place because besides it being their specialty they are courteous to their customers and take time to answer all your questions. Deep Sea Creations is the place to go for all your Salt or fresh water needs. Very helpful at all times, and they always have good solutions to help you out. I have been a long time customer for maintenance on my fresh water tank, just recently got into salt water. I now have two salt tanks my first venture the Red Sea Max 65 Gallon, 180 Gallon that Derek has helped me design and plumb. Derek has helped design and ordered my 450 Gallon tank. Went down there from corona to get some puffer fish but they were sold out but the girl said I could order them and they would be in about a week or so. I have been looking all over for them and since this is the only place that sales them I ordered 3 . So I'll wait for them to get here. My experience at DSC was poor. The place was almost empty. And even tough they were not busy I could not get service. The staff was to busy talking on their phones. And playing around to even greet or help the customers. This was after I went out of my way to work within there poor hours of not opening until noon and closing before I get off work There are much better fish stores to shop that has better hours. I was in here this afternoon and it was really the "last straw" for me; I have decided not to patronize DSC anymore, and I let them know this as I was leaving. Despite the fact that I haven't been all that impressed, I have made a number of purchases here simply because it is close to my home and convenient. However, it's just not worth it anymore. This afternoon, I was in the store picking up a powerhead. It was marked as $29.99. However, when I went to the register, it came up in the computer as $39.99. I pointed out that it was marked as $29.99, and he went to take a look (I guess he didn't believe me, even though I've been in there a number of times). He then proceeded to return to the register, looked at the computer for a moment, and informed me that the price was mismarked. He was not willing to give me the item for the marked price. As far as I know, they were legally obligated to sell me the item at the marked price, but I was not going to press the issue all that much for $10. Not worth my time and energy, but they have lost a customer. Like anyone else, I've had this sort of situation occur a few times in my life, but in every other case, the price was adjusted to match whatever the item was marked at, without me even having to ask or make an issue of it. Very, very poor customer service and especially not a nice way to treat a customer that has been in the store many times before. Leading up to today, I've thought about giving up on them several times. There are a number of reasons: (1) Sometimes it takes too long to get helped (although it was getting better). (2) I had them hold four fish for me on one occasion, and they went ahead and sold two of them to someone else before I returned to pick them up. (3) One night, I went in for saltwater and it was not available/very long wait, for some reason. (4) Not an impressive selection of fish (to me, anyway) (5) Purchased two fish from them, and both died. Fish I have purchased from other sources are alive and well. (5) I've noticed that prices on a number of items are really much too high. As just one example, the powerhead I was purchasing (that was marked $29.99) is available at an online retailer for $25.49 right now. I was willing to pay the $29.99 since it would work about the same once shipping was taken into consideration, but they really wanted $39.99 for it? You've got to be kidding me! There are other issues/observations but I think I'll just leave it be now. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this store to others. read more

I have been a customer with Deep Sea Creations since they opened. I have posted on yelp before with them. All good. They have lost a long time customer. I went in to buy some fish food back in May and was waiting at the counter with my frozen food. Dave was helping a customer and then he came to the counter and said he will ring me up right after he looks up a price for them. Well 10 min later Dave started to ring her up so I walked out. I went back 2 weeks later( after I cooled down) I spoke to Dave about getting some corals and there was 1 that I wanted because we had it before. It was the 26th of May. I asked Dave if they have a sale for the holiday weekend. He said ,it starts tomorrow. I asked if he could mark the 1 coral as sold and then I would come back tomorrow and get it along with 3-4 other corals. Dave said " I will mark it sold and no worries no one has showed interest in it anyway". I said if not I will buy that 1 right now. He said" I will mark it sold and put your name on it". I said thanks and we left. Well at 6:10 that evening Dave called me and said he sold it. I told him I thought you had it marked sold for me and how wrong it was to do something like that. I hung up, Not real Happy. Kyle called me and asked what happened. I explained it to him and he said "Hold on a minute I want to check with Dave real quick". Then Dave gets on the phone and tells me "Well I got full price for it". I hung up on him. Kyle called me back and said he was sorry for what happened and I told him I am done, I do not like being treated like that. Kyle said he would have Derick call me. Well 10 days later and no call from Derick, so here is my experience and my REVIEW. Customer service in #1 in any retail business and they have lost it. So with that , they have lost a long time customer. I will be doing all my business down San Diego way. It sucks but I would rather make the drive than be treated like that ever. read more

One of the better stores around with good selection of dry goods, fish, and corals. but they are more expensive than all others in the area. they also need more help. They are always busy so getting good help is difficult during peak hours and on the weekends. They guys tend to get overwhelmed and are not so courteous. it's a shame really because I've gone during off peak hours and they are great. read more

I have owned fish tanks since I was 12 years old and it was not until 5 years ago (i am 47) that I decided to jump into the saltwater world. I am just an aficionado and not an expert. Two years ago I moved out of my home and made a terrible mistake by trying to save money, move the aquarium by myself (110 gallons). I lost most of my fish and a few expensive coral pieces. Like they say "don't try this at home kids!". I moved again 3 weeks ago and for a month an half I look for someone to move the tank for me. I founded a store in Temecula (will not mention their name here) who told me to call the a week before my move Terrible mistake! they never returned my calls!...eventually the owner of that place recommend Deep Sea Creations, this was the best thing he did for me. Deep sea Creations schedule the move around my schedule, returned all my phone calls and more, came the day they said they were coming and move the tank utilizing professional equipment. Their people were not only knowledgable but also very professional and friendly. Because I was moving I had neglected my tank and it was full green algae and Aiptasias. After 24 hours of the move, my tank looked and still looks incredible. Deep Sea Creations will come this week to do a follow up an start the build up process. I can't tell you how impress I am and how thankful that I was able to hire them for the job. If you don't know what you are doing or if you are thinking on saving some money by doing things without the proper equipment my advice if is worth something to you is (DON'T DO IT). Call this guys and save your money and peace of mind. By the way I did not lose one fish or coral this time. Happy in Menifee! read more
