Nice atmosphere. We were seated quickly on a Saturday at prime time. Server was indifferent as he took our order. My wife and I tried the gumbo. Big mistake. How can you call it gumbo without starting with roux? This was tomato soup with shrimp and okra. I ordered clam strips which were average at best and the portion was small. The premium sides of mushrooms and fried plantains were quite good. I asked for extra tartar sauce for the clams from the man who delivered the entrees. He came back with a cup of tarter sauce that wildly overflowed the container. I found this annoying. My wife fared better with broiled hog fish that she enjoyed, though she thought the presentation lackluster. We received the bill that suggested the tip based upon the meal price with tax. I find it offensive that the restaurant does this to inflate the tip. Often it does just the opposite. read more

We came here on as a last minute decision. I saw they were rated 4 stars and let me just say they deserve 5. I ordered wine and it wasn't the right appellation like it was listed on the menu but their manager Robin took care of us. then the food came, it was AMAZING. The fish we order both the cedar plank Salmon and Grouper Rockefeller. So so good. Dessert just kicked butt on top of that. Get the chocolate mousse cheesecake! You won't regret it! read more

My favorite of all the spots I went to in Naples and now that I'm returning for a second visit later this year I'm not going to make the mistake of skipping on the key lime pie. Apparently it's pretty damn good, and there were multiple people getting whole pies to go if they didn't save room. Service was fine for a slow lunch crowd and the menu offers a wide selection of fresh fish. I mean, honestly you could pass on a menu and just go check out the superb line up of mahi, shrimp, grouper, and on and on. Blackened black grouper was amazing and went well with sliced local tomatoes. There was ice cold beer on tap that helped me forget it was 110* outside. Can't wait to return! read more

Food was good, waitress was sooo kind & helpful. An upside here is they have clear blockades between the booths but the rest of the restaurant is more packed than any I've been to in NY during covid. My lower rating comes from their covid precautions. Where we sat, you can see right into the kitchen. Unfortunately, I could see 2 men & 1 woman (at least) without masks. Several more had theirs pulled below their nose. 1 man was the chef that checks food & adds toppings before it leaves the kitchen & he had his mask dangling off 1 ear and the other side would brush over all the food. I had terrible anxiety here and begged my husband to leave. It's incredible when NYC-with such an incredibly large population-can take proper precautions but a tiny spot in FL can't. read more

Was there in April and besides a little hiccup with new waitress; it was delicious. Ate on their covered porch which turned out to be ideal as it rained after our entree was served. Three of us all enjoyed our meals and wine. Will go back in the fall as food was outstanding as were management when we mentioned issues with our server. read more

Customer is great here the both times I came. Once during lunch I had the fish taco, which I loved. Then for my birthday and my fiancé had the hogfish entree and I had the seafood era diavolo, the sauce was tangy/spicy but it was just right. Beautiful restaurant and great atmosphere and sprinkling clean. Only thing I was disappointed about was the serving of the calamari, it didn't seem like a full portion at all. Our first day in Naples and we came to Deep Lagoon. We had a party of 8 and they were able to seat us quickly despite that the restaurant had plenty of customers. It was a nice quiet atmosphere the waitstaff was very friendly and attentive. They provided us with plenty of recommendations and we each ordered something different. As you walk in you see the various wine selections some local others from various regions, they also had a good beer selection as well. We ordered the alligator bites which were very tender and seasoned perfectly. I ordered the Seafood Fra Diavolo and my wife ordered the pasta primavera. Both were presented beautifully. How the taste of the Seafood Fra Diavolo was amazing! Just the right amount of spice without the heat being overpowering. Plenty of shrimp and Scallops almost in every bite! The noodles were cooked well. My wife's primavera was also done well although IMO the artichoke overpowered the dish. We all split the taste of the key lime pie and it did not disappoint. Where most key lime is overpowering bordering on bitter this one was perfectly balanced and velvety smooth. We may have to come back to pick up a slice before we leave! read more

When in Florida, you gotta try the seafood. We decided to drop in Saturday after a long day of work. I booked a reservation just in case but wasn't needed for the off-season. We were seated immediately. Service was generally attentive and friendly with the exception of one server that was a little short but recovered nicely. We had the stuffed mushrooms, coconut shrimp and triple tail. All were delicious and cooked perfectly. We had just enough room for the key lime pie. I had high expectations based on Google and Yelp reviews and a search for good fresh fish. Upon entering the restaurant my family and I loved the environment and felt excited about trying the food. Having the fresh market on site added to a sense of reassurance of freshness and quality. The menu was large and impressive with delicious descriptions, only building the anticipation further. Unfortunately, the experience quickly went downhill from there. Starting with our drink orders, our 3 children ordered lemonades. After my wife and my drinks came the children's didn't, so we gently reminded the waitress. Two showed up, but again had to ask for another. The lemonades barely resembled even lemon water. They were not sweet and had only a slight hint of lemon. If from a machine, was the syrup and water ratio broke?The waitress quickly offered to not charge for them, once we informed her. Next, our (fried) calamari appetizer came. While it looked and tasted okay, it was rather generic and there was only one tiny dipping dish of marinara or cocktail sauce (?). Not very creative or generous for something so straightforward. The calamari could have had more variety in sauces and flavor, for example an aioli or sweet chili sauce. Our entrees. Fish and Chips. My older boys ordered Hogfish fish and chips, and while the fish and chips tasted as expected, it was nothing special. The worst part though, it did not come with any tartar sauce or anything beyond a lemon wedge! The boys had to resort to ketchup and ranch dressing we had to request. Fish Tacos. My wife had the Fish tacos and I tried one. First, a proper fish taco should be served on a corn tortilla, bit I can look beyond that. They were pretty decent, though a bit too saucy in my opinion, which made the fried fish and flour tortilla get soggy much quicker than it should. Her side item was a potato salad, it was bland and unoriginal, and actually didn't taste any better than a grocery store bought potato salad. Oyster Sandwich. I ordered the Oyster Sandwich, but again was disappointed. Fried oysters tasted like any other previous mentioned fried food with little additional seasonings making it unique. The worst part again is there was no sauce! Of all misses, why didn't a sandwich have any signature sauce or even simply mayonnaise?! The sandwich was literally bun, a slice of lettuce, tomato and a heap of under seasoned fried oysters. On all orders, we relied on Tabasco sauce and pickles to provide depth in flavor, Hot dig. The youngest had a hot dog and fries. Easy, no complaints there. Additional observations; - the receptionist and person working at the market both were wearing their masks below their chins - the wait staff seemed very busy for a place that was less than half full. Sauces and seasoning and missing things: Simple misses and lack of attention to detail could easily be remedied. The food needs to live up to its menu description at the very least, and also it's price points. Provided those changes, it could very easily take Deep Lagoon to the next level, but otherwise risk losing customers and reputation. read more

This makes me so sad to give it a two star rating. I loved this restaurant when it was Randy's and so we continue to go because we thought it would have the same great food. This year I ordered a crabcake as I do every year when I go to Naples. It was absolutely the worst crabcake I have ever had in my life. Call the waiter over call the manager over and have them take it back. It was greasy it had more feeling in it than crab meat which you would think at a seafood restaurant it would have much more crabmeat. They obliged and brought me out a shrimp cocktail instead of the crabcake. The shrimp were overly big and honestly did not have good flavor. Needless to say I was extremely disappointed. I told my family about my visit and I don't think I will ever come back. This makes me so sad. read more

The reviews were understated. Great service, seasoned host an overall superior late Saturday afternoon dining experience. Initially wanted to just grab a cup of Chowda and and entree. That all changed when reviewing the apps menu. Chose to have a well timed series of apps. Cup of Clam Chowda, then Grouper fingers that were served exactly as described on the menu. Our first time at Deep Lagoon and very impressed with the food and service ( our waitress was very helpful and on point) We had the crab cakes and plank salmon both perfect and enjoyed the look and feel of the new location. One complaint was the fellow that greeted us when we entered the restaurant was a bit snobby and started with the usual do you have a reservation/ No / place was very quiet for a rainy Tue night We said we would sit in the bar and he said all the high tops were reserved ( he somehow found us one ) and the rest were empty the time we were there. I stopped in here tonight because of the reviews on yelp. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff. I sat in the tap room and took advantage of the happy hour specials that ran from 4 to 6. They had some small plates on special as well as a number of cocktails and wines and beers. I highly recommend stopping in to try their happy hour specials the food was outstanding. After enjoying a couple of small plates I feasted on one of their entrées that ended up being the most flavorful fish that I've had in months. Everything at this restaurant came out fresh and fabulous. If you are in this area and are looking for something unique and fresh I recommend stopping in here and trying out their food. My wife and I stopped here on our way to the airport for a quick bite. We ended up getting there during happy hour. The food was great and the deals were great as well!!! Good selection of beers - Domestic and craft. Can't go wrong with a Jai Lai! My wife enjoyed her house wine as well. We had two happy hour appetizers - shrimp ceviche and coconut shrimp. Both were excellent! The ceviche had large chunks of shrimp, crab and topped with avocado. Excellent spice. Not fishy at all. Even better we're the 2 coconut shrimp - super crunchy, great flavor and an excellent orange sauce. Then we split the grouper bites and a side of fries. Very tender and flaky. Excellent!
