Keira is a pleasure to book with and work with to plan dive trips and she goes out of her way to make sure everyone has a pleasurable dive experience. Captain Jason is very safety forward and makes sure everyone gets on and off the boat securely. He is also so fun and always a pleasure to be on his boat. The instructors we dove with, KA, Tomos and Sonia were super patient and understanding of our different levels of experience. When we wanted to branch out and try new things like lobstering, they were very accommodating, and everyone was willing to work with us to be successful. I love that unlike at places in Key Largo such as Rainbow reef you can actually lobster and Spearfish with Islamorada, but they actually make sure you do it in a safe and responsible way which I really appreciate. We had a very mixed experience with this shop, both in terms of the diving as well as the retail…read moreside. Overall, do not recommend. There are much better options in the area. We do want to say that couple of the staff really stood out for excellent customer service - Jo as a dive guide was amazing, as was Savannah on the retail side - but the overall attitude is very much like you are just a number to fill seats. I question the safety standards. We went out in pretty questionable conditions (there was still thunder and lightening when we left the dock), and we witnessed people diving that really had no idea what they were doing, were bouncing around, kicking coral, not at all in control of themselves in the water - and none of this was directly addressed. The customer service in the dive center was pretty terrible - after we purchased over $1000 in equipment at their retail store, we were told we would get a free dive. Cool. So we booked a dive for 3 days later, and when we showed up, we were told that because we booked online instead of calling them, we could not use that free dive. We tried a few times to get this resolved and were just told "well that is our policy." There are so many options for diving in this area, I do not recommend this shop - they do not seem honest or like they really care about the dive experience, just filling seats.

I live in California and have wanted to go lion fish hunting for a few years. In planning for this…read moretrip I did a lot of online research and talked to many dive shops in Florida. Forever Young kept coming up in my online searches and conversations. When I talked to Captain Tony he came across as extremely knowledgeable and incredibly honest. The morning of my trip I met Captain Rob and Guide Luke at the Forever Young dock. They knew I wanted to go after Lion Fish. They are two consummate professionals that were 100% focused on making sure I had a great day. I confessed to them, I had never used a spear gun or a sling spear. Luke was not phased. While Rob prepared the boat, Luke grabbed a sling spear and gave me an impromptu lesson on how to use it. As we got underway, it became obvious to me these two guys knew the waters in the keys. We made three dives at three different spots. Each dive just blew my mind. Secretly I wanted to get two Lion Fish.... As we approached the bottom on the first dive we came upon six or eight of them bunched together. Five minutes into the first dive, my bucket list was fulfilled. We filled the Zookeeper during each dive. It was surreal. My wife, children, and friends knew the day I was going out with the Forever Young team. As we came back in, I started getting texts..... How did it go ? Did you shoot any ? Did you have fun ? I fired off texts with pictures of the 35+ Lion Fish Luke helped me find and shoot. Everyone was excited. It was a great day. I have never been to Florida before this trip. I don't know anyone in Florida. I knew if this adventure was going to be successful, I would need to go with the best... people who were skilled and knew the waters. These guys are the best. These two guys helped me have the trip of a lifetime.

They had the best…read moreprices for diving that I could find ($65 for 2-tank boat dive with online discount mentioned, normally $70). So make sure you call in and mention you saw their online discount...they knock off $5. A complete gear rental package was $30...pretty good equipment except for the fins. Their boat is docked right next to their office so no long haul there. They usually have 2 dives per day...a morning and midday departure. Being from the west coast, I needed the sleep time and opted for the afternoon departure. Being such a good price meant there was a trade off...here it meant, if you're a certified diver, then you're not getting a dive guide with you. They paired me up with a couple other guys...none of us were sharp on underwater navigating so we had to surface to get our bearings a couple times. But the site we were taken to, weren't very deep anyway. The dive sights were OK, but nothing to brag about. Overall, I liked OD and would use them again if I'm in the area again.
