Sherwin-Williams Commercial Paint Store

$$$$

This Sherwin Williams Store can be found on the west side of Valley View just north of Sunset…read moreDrive. It can be easy to miss in the midst of a nondescript strip mall. I stopped by to pick up an extra gallon of paint for the new house. Even though the house is new, we did decide to add a wall to the second story(long story as to why). When the workers doing the job started getting low on paint, I had to rush out and get another gallon to make sure there was enough to finish the job. Because we wanted to make sure the paint was going to be an identical match (duh) we HAD to go with Sherwin Williams since that is what the builder used. We picked up the first gallon from the Sahara and Arville location several days earlier. It cost roughly $36. For some reason, the exact same amount, same paint, same everything now cost $56 at this location. So, naturally, that begs the question, why? I never got an answer. Unfortunately, time was very much an issue and I simply did not have time to make that drive for the sake of saving $20. So, I bit the bullet and just paid it. It's a shame, too. The two guys who were there at the time were friendly and helpful. This would have been a 4 star review if it wasn't for the price difference. Since I need that specific paint for my house, I can't say I won't be back. I'll just have to hope I have the time to drive to the Sahara and Arville location. It doesn't make much sense to me and I can't help but feel like I got taken. I don't think anybody likes that feeling. 2 stars.

Has them make me paint that they had made up before and it was nothing like the original. She shook the can and brought it back and said this orange. Meanwhile it looks like mustard yellow. After dealing with her we just mixed in some red and made it ourselves. Horrible service. We will use the Bruce St location from now on.

The staff is friendly but seemed to only have one cashier and no one to assist with questions unless we asked the cashier. It was just before closing so maybe that was the staffing issue, not sure.

1 STAR -- I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS STORE FOR CONTRACTORS…read more Very disappointing experience. I purchased a NEW chipping gun/jackhammer for a job, and the equipment did not work properly. I returned it expecting to exchange it for another one, but they did not have the same machine available. Instead, they gave my workers a smaller chipping gun that was not powerful enough or suitable for the work we needed to do. My workers were standing around waiting while I was still paying them. This cost me both labor money and valuable time on my job. Because I could not afford to keep waiting, I had to go to Home Depot and purchase another chipping gun so we could continue working. Now, when I return the equipment, I am being told that I have to pay a 20% restocking fee. How is that reasonable? I purchased NEW equipment that did not work properly, tried to exchange it, and the store could not provide a suitable replacement. I had to spend additional money somewhere else just to keep my job moving, and now they want to charge me another 20% to return the equipment. What made the experience even worse was the attitude of the employee who helped me. During the conversation, he told me that they have plenty of customers. The way he said it made me feel like he simply did not care if I took my business somewhere else. As a contractor and a paying customer, that is extremely disappointing and disrespectful. As a contractor, my time and my workers' time are money. Equipment needs to work when I purchase it, and when it doesn't, I expect the store to stand behind what they sold me. After this experience, I cannot recommend this store to contractors or anyone who depends on their equipment to get a job done. I will be taking my business elsewhere.
