Nordstrom is usually known for exceptional customer service, so this experience was extremely…read moredisappointing. My husband purchased a pair of shoes that ended up being too big. The shoes were in perfect condition, with the tags and receipt, and there was absolutely nothing wrong with them. When he attempted to return them, the employee acted as though they no longer accepted shoe returns. My husband has an accent and is not originally from this country, and the way he was treated made us very uncomfortable and concerned that he was being treated differently because of that. I called the store afterward to clarify the return policy and was assured that there was no policy preventing them from accepting a return on shoes. Then traveled out of the country. Before leaving, a manager had assured us that they would take care of the situation when we returned. Unfortunately, by the time we came back, we were outside the return window for receiving the money back on the original payment method. The new manager we dealt with was not understanding or considerate of the situation. In fact, she told us that even the store manager might not be able to do anything, but that manager would not be back for another five days. After everything that had happened, we were left wondering what the purpose of waiting another five days would be. We ultimately accepted store credit just to resolve the situation and move on. Then, as we were leaving, we could see the three employees together through the window, laughing shortly after our interaction. Whether they were laughing about us or not, that is certainly how it appeared, and it was incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful. This entire situation could have been handled so easily with basic communication, understanding, and customer service. Instead, it became a frustrating experience from beginning to end. Nordstrom has a reputation for taking care of its customers. Unfortunately, this particular experience was the complete opposite. I sincerely hope management reviews what happened, because every customer deserves to be treated with respect and dignity--regardless of their accent, background, or how they communicate.

I am writing this review to address the extreme lack of professionalism and decorum displayed by a…read moreshift manager named Sam. The checkout line was incredibly long, prompting a sales clerk to ask Sam for assistance. My family was next in line, but Sam flatly refused to check us out. Instead, she deliberately waited until the lone cashier finished with their current customer before stepping in to help the person behind us. As an African American woman, I cannot definitively say what her motives were, but her behavior gave off a distinct, uncomfortable vibe of racial bias. This was compounded by the fact that she followed us around the store and glared at us with a constant scowl. When we reached the register, I asked the cashier for the shift manager's name so I could report this behavior. The clerk pointed to Sam. Wanting to avoid confrontation with someone carrying such negative energy, I decided to let it go. However, overhearing my question, Sam stopped helping her own customers, walked over to our register, and rudely demanded to know "what's the matter" and "what's going on over here." Neither the cashier nor I had requested her presence. Sam made my family feel deeply uncomfortable and completely ruined our shopping experience. Her blatant lack of respect and poor customer service do a massive disservice to the Old Navy brand. Needless to say, we will never shop at this location again.

Okay, so this is a weird review for me. Let me preface it by saying; I am a dude. I do not wear…read morebra's or women's panties (although I am sure I could pull it off if I had to). I do however have a wife and a daughter who both shop the women's plus size departments. If you are a dude who has ever been in my position you understand the fear I felt when my wife says she wanted to just swing by to pick up a few things and make a return. Such trips can easily spiral downward quickly into tears of frustration,self-recriminations as to not doing better on that diet, and of course the dreaded question; does this make me look fat? Let's just say that she didn't marry stupid so I politely declined to go inside and said I would be happy to wait in the car. She reminded me that the AC doesn't work well when the car is just parked. I told her to crack the windows. By the time she got done giving me The Look, I meekly followed her inside like a kid whose been told he has to go to church before going to Dunkin Donuts. The store was small but well stocked however, and she quickly found what she needed. The returns she made were handled without any pushback despite her having removed the tags from one of the bras and the other being purchased online. She also noted it was nice have real people working in a Torrid rather than a super skinny teeny bopper who couldn't relate making her feel already more self conscious than she is. So she walked out happy, which meant that the rest of my Saturday didn't suck. Hence five stars.

When the clearance items rung up the incorrect price that was not shown on the tag, she argued and did not want to correct the price. I'm thankful for their amazing customer service, but the unprofessional employee Angelica was not helpful at all.

Disappointing Experience for a Long-Time Shopper (Saved by Connie & Debbie)…read more I have been a long-time Kohl's shopper, but my recent visit during their clearance event--which advertised an additional 50% off the marked clearance price--was extremely frustrating. The extra 50% discount wasn't applying correctly at self-checkout. When I politely asked for assistance, the employee supervising the area, Angelica, gave me a visible attitude and repeatedly argued with me, insisting the marked price was already correct without even checking the promotion. To make matters worse, manager Nicole (or Nikki) was also involved and displayed the exact same bad attitude instead of helping to resolve the pricing error. After ringing up all my items, the hostility from both the employee and manager forced me to void the entire transaction and wait in a long checkout line just to get to a regular register. Thankfully, Connie and Debbie at the main registers completely turned things around. They stepped in, immediately applied the correct promotional pricing without hesitation, and handled everything with a warm, welcoming smile. The selection was a few cute items but mostly winter items. Connie, Debbie and Sheena deserve 5 stars for fantastic customer service! However, the visible attitude, wasted time, and lack of professionalism from Angelica and manager Nicole/Nikki were completely unacceptable--especially toward a loyal, long-time customer. Kohl's needs to address staff courtesy and ensure management actually understands current store sales.

Clothing is sorted by designer (so much less wear and tear on pieces--brilliant), and shoe clearance sales are always separated out to keep the rest of the inventory pristine. Because I make a point to treat them with kindness and respect, I have only received that same kindness in return and helpful service whenever I've needed it. Honestly, I prefer shopping here even over Dillard's regular sales--the team here has made the experience so easy for me. The store itself is spotless, bright, and well laid out, with ample parking and even bottled water available for purchase. I know when to shop to catch the best deals, and there's plenty of seating for the non-shopaholics you might bring along. If you do outlet shopping, this is the best store that doesn't feel like an outlet. And, it is why I am a big fan and a regular. For those expecting even better deals, it is a business's perogative when they discount even further. This store has introduced me to new brands that where out of my reach- and now I have a stunning wardrobe! Here is my philiosophy - I buy summer closeouts at the end of season and I buy fall and winter when the best sales are happening. If that timing doesn't work for you - there is generally an array of quality merchandise at reasonable prices. The staff is ALWAYS kind and considerate. The ones I have come to know fairly well - are real gems. I look forward to my trips there. Finding the unexpected is always a treat.

This is one of my absolute favorite stores to shop. I come here a few times a year, load up a cart…read more(or 2) every time with discounted clothing and shoes! That being said, it saddens me to lower this store to a 4 star rating. The last time I shopped here, it seemed that the workers here stocking the racks and shelves could not be bothered. Sizes were all mixed up. The swimwear section was a nightmare to shop. Women's swimwear separates were completely mixed up. Tops and bottoms all mixed up on the same racks with children's swimwear mixed in! I literally wasted over 1 hour of my shopping time here just sorting through swimwear trying to find anything that matched in a size small. I gave up and went to a completely different part of the store. Pretty pathetic that the Buc-ee's in Goodyear had their swimwear and clothing all organized by sizes and here everything was mixed up! A gas station was more organized than this place! The same thing with some of the clothing sections....sizes all mixed up. You had to look through every piece on the rack just to find the size you were looking for! This is unacceptable given the nature of this store. The customer is doing you a favor by purchasing last season's items and moving your product off the shelves...you, the store, should have the sizes organized at the minimum. Another issue I had was that the workers here that were bringing out new racks of clothing to put out on the floor were constantly in my personal space as if I, the customer, was somehow in their way. Seriously! They'd be wheeling out a rack and just about mow me down and start speaking in Spanish right next to me...as if I don't understand enough Spanish to understand that you're talking about me and not saying very nice things... Another problem was kids running amuck in this store. Maybe implement some policies about kids in this store? There were multiple parents here shopping and allowing their kids to run all over the store. Ill behaved children that were bumping into other shoppers, shopping carts, hanging and swinging on clothing displays, playing with shoes, the list goes on and on. A newer problem with this store is the re-seller madness. I don't have anything against re-selling or re-sellers in general, but when you have multiple people pushing their way through the doors at opening and loading up carts filled with the exact same style of discounted designer shoes and not leaving 1 left for any other shopper, maybe it's time to implement some restrictions. I hope my next shopping trip here is a better experience.
