If my family wasn't traveling in the next couple days, I probably would've gotten a bunch of different ones to try. Front counter person started to whine because we had the door open for a minute trying to read the menu because they don't allow dogs which is fine but just give us a sec to be able to read your menu... super sensitive. We bought a dozen plus One Came to $68.35 w/$5.00 tip My first impression when entering, oh nice ppl are supporting this new place, they were somewhat busy. Service was great, counter setup and clean , welcoming etc! Now from what I've had in all my years of doughnuts these are definitely big and more so like a bread dough, not your typical smaller doughnut. Maybe if they weren't so big they wouldn't be so overwhelming. This by no means is a bash.... But I highly doubt we will stop in again. Flavors are somewhat bland and similar to one another, except for the non-gluten lemon choice, And I would contribute that to the lemon icing on top. Otherwise it's not all that either, but it's on the smaller size which is good and softer being gluten-free. Maybe I'm too picky but with prices at these I'd prefer them to be extremely tender and light and or more flavorful and not so cake dense. My goodness where to start ?? Let's start with the aesthetic of Deux, the open floor plan of this shop is very welcoming. It's like look we have nothing to hide and the employees genuinely look happy to be working there. Very clean and pleasing to the eye. The minute you walk in you are greeted with a sincere "hello" and smile. The donuts are so pretty you almost don't want to eat them. But, I managed to go ahead and get a few. First was the old fashioned, it's almost like a play on an "old fashion" donut with "old fashioned" flavors if that makes sense. It looks dense but is surprisingly not heavy cake like consistency not too sweet. Perfect crunch on the outside and deliciously moist inside. Next was the pastrami donut, now, stay with me... think a cake donut, but not sweet, yummy slightly crunchy outside and stuffed to the gills with pastrami, cheese and a perfectly flavored seeded mustard and onions. Also got the olive oil and salt donut it was perfectly raised and sweet with a light salt flavor. Nas came out and shared their story with us and it was nothing short of inspiring. I've had this on my list to try for some time! Went yesterday 10/2 and tried the Old Fashioned and the seasonal Pumpkin Cheesecake. The service was very kind and friendly! The boxes are a very nice touch, that is where the 2 stars come in. However, the old fashioned and pumpkin cheesecake donut we purchased were not good. They both were dry and lacked flavor. Extremely dense and just not good. The price for both were $11.42, overpriced. I mentioned I've followed for some time and a Yelper, and they didn't even mention the check in for a free item. Disappointed . Also, they send a text with your receipt to rate them on square, as well as a review by text... I responded and did both and requested a full refund... with no response from facility. Full disclosure, i insta-stalked this Deaux-nut (haha) shop way ahead of its recent opening because the owner seemed super passionate about their product and their flavors seemed unique. If you're looking for a regular glazed or maple bar (nothing against those) this is probably not the place but certainly a place you won't regret trying. These doughnuts are definitely gourmet! Their flavors are unique, and the texture of each doughnut lent to the most delicious bite. We tried the following: Olive oil and salt (served warm) -this was my absolute favorite! A yeast doughnut with a nice chewy texture, loved the salty-sweet combo.
