My Fiancé went in got the guy to come out to fill 3 - 7 gallon tanks which is 21 gallons at $3.45= $72.45 + tax(8.250%) $5.98 would have made the total $78.43. We get the receipt and the TOTAL WAS $95.89!!!! $17.46 HIGHER THAN WE EXPECTED!!! We were charged for 22 gallons @ $4.00 AND they did 1 tank at 0.2 gallons for a total of 23 Gallons!!! TOTAL RIP OFF!! We won't go there ever again! THIEVES!!! THIS PLACE IS A RIP OFF!!!!!

You drive up t the tank set up, meet with attendant and unload your tank(s). Once the tanks are filled & returned you'll receive a receipt. Take that inside the shop on the corner and pay your bill. I had a really frustrating experience at this U-Haul. I took my propane tank in to be filled this…read moremorning. It had the valve knob on it when it left the back of my truck to be filled, and it was placed right back into my truck afterward. A few hours later, we were leaving for a camping trip and realized the valve knob was missing. We drove all the way back to U-Haul to ask about it. The employee called the person who filled my tank, and he confirmed that he did fill my tank and had to turn the valve knob to do it before putting it back. Then I was told, "Maybe you didn't have the knob when you brought it in." That made absolutely no sense. If I didn't have the knob, how was the tank filled? Especially after the employee who filled it had already confirmed he used the knob during the fill. The tank never left the back of my truck except while it was being filled. Instead of taking responsibility or helping resolve the issue, they dismissed my concern and offered no solution. We were left scrambling before our camping trip because a part that was there when we arrived was suddenly missing. Very disappointing customer service. I expected much better.

I let them know that our tank was empty and had run out a couple days ago. The gal on the phone wanted to make sure that we had propane ASAP to be able to run our furnace and appliances. She told me that they would send out a serviceman that day to put about 20 gallons of gas in the tank, do a safety inspection, and get everything safely turned on. I was instantly impressed that they would be able to do that on the same day. She also said that we would get delivery of propane to fill the tank within a few days. Oh! And she told me that as a new customer we would be getting a discount for our first delivery!! I was very satisfied with all of that and told her I would be available all day to receive her call for when to expect the serviceman. She called me a few hours later to let me know that the serviceman would not be available that day, so the owner himself was on his way to put some gas in the tank and get everything turned on. I was surprised and she said they didn't want us to go another day without gas for the furnace and appliances. Especially since it's been pretty chilly at night lately. The owner showed up within an hour and let us know that the serviceman has just called and would be available after all. So he went ahead and put the 20 gallons in but said he'd leave everything else so the serviceman could do the full inspection before turning everything on. He also said we would get our first delivery before Friday and assured that the 20 gallons would be more than enough to last us, with normal use. The serviceman arrived barely 10 minutes after the owner left and began his inspection. He then came inside to check if everything would turn on correctly. He was very nice and thorough and he had high praise for the company owner. That says a lot to me, when an employee has such positive things to say about the company and the owner of where he works. Today, Wednesday, just 2 days after I called to become a new customer, the truck arrived to fill up our tank! So, yes, I am EXTREMELY IMPRESSED and SATISFIED with the service - starting with the initial phone call to inquire about their service through to the delivery. Other companies told me it would be 5-10 days before they could get a truck out to us. And on top of that, one company had a $99 inspection/setup fee. Thornton's DID NOT CHARGE A FEE to have the owner and serviceman come out! I was not expecting to need to change our home propane provider as we had been with the previous company for over 4 years. But I'm actually glad that I did some shopping around and found y'all!!! Thank you Thornton's!!!

Due to the changes with the office staff not being able to keep up with billing, I've asked numerous times in the past two weeks to have a supervisor call me to discuss this issue and still haven't received any response. Now I'm coming back from my trip out of town still with no answers and my propane is low and forcing me to look for alternative options for gas. Horrible Admin Staff
