WARNING: GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!! Worst cake and customer service ever! First of all, this was my first time changing bakeries. I read the reviews on yelp and it said this was the number One place to go in Dearborn. I made the biggest mistake of my life! I needed a cake for my daughter, it is her 15th birthday. I found the bakery very nice and clean inside. I had a lot of questions and the lady helping me answered them very politely(I get very leery about trying someone else's style of cakes). So I bought this vanilla cake with pink chocolate on top with strawberries. Who could go wrong with white chocolate and vanilla cake. Well here is where the problems started, cake slid off the platform in the box on the way home from the bakery. The frosting got messed up on the side that hit the box. The cake was put on level area and kept chilled. So how can a cake slide unless the frosting was already bad? I immediately called the establishment, only to be told I need to return the cake so they could fix it. I am not right around the corner. The owner would not talk to me. He or she could not come to the phone and talk to me. All I kept getting was "the owner needs you to come back now so they can fix the cake, if you wait til tomorrow it will be too late!" I left my number for the owner to call me, do you think I got a call? Nope! Well, after dinner we decided to cut and eat the cake. First thing I noticed was the chocolate broke weird when it was cut. As I continued to cut, the cake fell apart. Didn't look moist but dry and looked like old corn bread. My daughter and I went on to try it even though it looked like a two year old made the cake. It was so dry and tasted old we couldn't eat it. So $25, was a waste on this cake! If you want a good cake and people that put their heart and soul into their livelihood, go to Roberto's in Taylor on Van Born Rd a block east of Telegraph! Don't waste your time or money with a bakery that sells kitty litter for cakes! Roberto's has cakes for everyone in the family and they are very reasonably priced as well! As for Dearborn Sweets, you really should just shut down your bakery. No one needs to go through what I've been through. read more

I was in the neighborhood of this bakery on an errand, so I thought I would stop in to check them out. I bought a variety of little cookies from the far right counter in the store and every one of them is DELICIOUS!!! My most favorite turned out to be a marvelous flat little cookie with sesame seeds on top. I could eat these until the counter goes empty. So crisp, so light and buttery, sooooo wonderfully fresh tasting. I also got a couple chocolate layer cookies with jam inside. Also heavenly. Someone's grandmother is back there baking these cookies for us. No after taste or "store bought" taste at all. This place is using high quality ingredients, so its like home made, but even better. The service was also very nice. Friendly and polite staff. And, the hours are great especially for people who have jobs...they are open until at least 10 pm every night. Next time I stop in, I will try one of the beautiful cakes I saw in the counter. I'm glad I live a bit of a drive from this place because, as far as cookies go, super YUM. A+++ read more

I like their cakes because they are beautiful, and not super sweet like some other bakeries' cakes. The cashier was nice, and professional. My wife loved the fruit tart. Picked up a most beautiful and delicious fruit tart for our family get together. First, the tart was excellent. And it was so beautiful! Everyone commented on how lovely it was. The perfect dessert to bring to a family gathering. It was huge too ... could have easily fed 16+ people for dessert. And it was accented with chocolate dipped strawberries for a final touch that made it perfect. And the best part? It was $25. The ladies at the counter were very helpful and kind. I called ahead and they set aside the tart for me, for pick up. This bakery is clean, spacious, well organized and has friendly and helpful staff. We got some Arabic treats (fried dough in syrup!) to snack on, on the way to the party. They are super sweet. Some had rose water syrup inside. I'd recommend the pine cone shaped pastries ... they had nuts in them and a hint of anise. Just wonderful. The entire experience was great. Thank you Dearborn Sweets! We will be back. read more

The best sweets you can buy. Cheap clean moist and always fresh. By this time of the year gets crowded and also they offer a variety of Arab sweets (I'm not a fan of those) I'm getting the birthday cakes from here from now on. Small little bakery, very clean and very much no real customer traffic. Prices are ridiculous! 1 tart was $4.99. 1 Macaroon was around $2.00. Not sure how they stay in business. No qaunity discount. Dearborn Sweets is the best bakery in town for french pastries, cookies and cakes. I prefer their pastries over Shatilas, Masris and Divine Sweets! Their tiramisu is heavenly and I buy it every time I have family or friends from out of town visiting and around holidays. I also had divine sweets bake my massive (3 tier) wedding cake, which was completely finished by our only 60 guests and was universally complimented.
