Fries and Chicken tawook sandwich
Linda M.

I've been wanting to try this place for the longest and glad I finally did. I believe this is their newest location, it was very clean and had a nice sleek design. To start off the customer service here is just top tier. The gentleman that took our order was the nicest and gave us his best recommendations. What really stood out to me was when we walked in it was pouring rain and he went out of his way and opened the door for us. I believe the owner was in the kitchen making the food, every-time I saw him he was smiling and in a great mood. The food was tasty, we got the chicken tawook in a sandwich and entree meal with hummus and fried. You could taste the freshness of the ingredients and the chicken was juicy. This has to be one of my top places for Mediterranean food. It was a generous amount of food we had to take it to go. I would love to go back and try out the rest of the menu.

Delicious sandwiches and friendly people. I prefer the interior of this site much more than the original location. The sides are quite large, so I wouldn't really recommend everyone in a group getting a combo. Ask for a side of hot sauce if you really want a spicy kick.

Wow. I was truly impressed with this restaurant. Greek groceries are available and I was mostly impressed with the feta cheese! The menu is extensive and I was excited with the gyro and pita bread. This is a walk up restaurant where you order and a number is given and your food is served at the table of your choice. I had the Kafka on pita bread, my husband had the gyro on pita and my daughter who is gluten free has the Kafka with a side of cucumber and other veggies salad. These were all delicious and very tasty! And the baklava was to die for! Service was wonderful and the staff were great and helpful. The restaurant was minimally decorated which was pleasing to me. Very clean and well laid out. This is a definite must try in Scottsdale, easily accessible from the 101 Northbound! I will be back to try other things on the menu.

Tabouleh. Fresh fresh fresh. Did I say fresh????

I will continue to babble about DeBabel because of its great food and wonderful staff and service. This new location is neat, modern, and well appointed. No matter what u order it will be a home run. I drove home almost at the speed limit to be able to dive into all my goodies head first. I have posted a video of the place and some of my food. Thank you guys for opening this new location much closer to home and just as delicious.

Great new location! I didn't even know this opened and was looking for lunch in the area and was so excited to see this! Outstanding food, outstanding quality, outstanding service, and great value, considering the quality. Nothing is bad here. Everything is excellent and top-notch. I feel like french fries oh my God, the best french fries in the world. If you like hummus the best hummus I've ever had. They're pita bread is wonderful and they stuff it generously with meat and great sauces. If you haven't tried it, you really need to. Awesome totally awesome!

The staff are wonderfully friendly from the moment you walk in, and the food itself is fresh-tasting, generously portioned, and very fairly priced. I ordered the steak kebab platter, served with hummus, baba ganoush, and a salad - every bite was delicious. We also tried the chicken kebab with the same sides, and it was out of this world. To top it off, the staff surprised us with a complimentary baklava dessert, three generously sized triangles, flaky and sweet and absolutely delicious. Between the warm hospitality, the quality of the food, and the portions, there was truly nothing not to like. Highly recommend for anyone craving Mediterranean food done right.

My friend order the chicken....I've never seen or tasted drier chicken....we jokingly called it Chicken Chips. Should have returned it but didn't. They must have known as they were plating? Ate very little.... I ordered the lamb kabob....it was ok but pretty bland, looked like processed little meat balls. . Service was good and friendly, no owner on site. In past visits I loved their Asobuco but none was on the menu. That's what I wanted to order. There was free baklava ....wasn't looking for free....went up to the counter to order some. Then was given two out of a bunch of stacked containers behind the register. If I hadn't inquired wouldn't have known. In past visits they always walked around with a tray and offered. This was dry as well..... I do appreciate free but not dry. I was willing to pay. I probably caught them on an off night, business was good which is always a good sign. I'll give them another shot but won't order the Chicken Chips.

I was browsing Uber Eats for Mediterranean food when I found Golden and realized they had something that looks an awful lot like Khachapuri (here it's on the menu as Aldo). So I abandoned my plans of delivery food and promptly made my way in to eat. We got a solid sampling of the menu: - hummus/foul - Aldo with cheese and an over easy egg (I think their default may be scrambled but they do over easy if you ask!) - stuffed grape leaves - labani + black olive flatbread - kufta with tomato sauce - shawarma chicken wrap Lord above, my heart was so happy. The foul is exceptionally garlicky. Perfectly so. My partner said the hummus was his favorite thing we ordered, and he's a pretty discerning dude! The Aldo was excellent. The grape leaves came out hot, which surprised me, but again - solid! Flatbread? Stellar. Maybe even better the next day. The kufta didn't particularly excite me, but I wasn't the one who ordered it, and my partner was happy. My shawarma wrap? Oh boy, that garlic sauce. They even perfectly portion the innards so your pickles aren't all stuck to one side and the fries to the other. You can have pickles in almost every bite! We also got several desserts to take home. I haven't sampled them yet, but the hazelnut baklava in particular intrigues me. Casual ambiance. Options for booths or tables, inside or outside. I am so thrilled to have found Golden - they'll be a regular spot for me!

Some restaurants chase trends. Others just quietly keep making really good food year after year…read more This is one of those places. I'd been here several times years ago, and after coming back, I'm honestly wondering why I don't eat here more often. I ordered the chicken shawarma, a stuffed grape leaves platter, and hot tea. Everything was exactly what I hoped it would be. The chicken was well-seasoned, tender, and wrapped with the classic toppings, and the portion was fair for the price. Speaking of price, the value here is honestly hard to beat. The stuffed grape leaves platter came with hummus, tabbouleh, pita, and hot stuffed grape leaves. I had completely forgotten they serve them warm, and my brain needed a minute to recalibrate because I'm so used to cold dolmas everywhere else. Once I took a bite, though... yep. That's how they're supposed to taste. Soft, flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely delicious. I ended up adding some of the hummus and tabbouleh to my shawarma, which made an already great sandwich even better. The service was just as impressive as the food. My server was genuinely kind, gave me a few extra minutes when I couldn't decide, checked in without hovering, and even offered to package my hot tea to go when he noticed I was still working on it. (For the record, ordering an entire pot of tea for one person was an ambitious life choice on my part.) The dining room isn't huge, and there's also a small market attached, which adds to the charm. This place reminds me that consistency is underrated. Years later, I came back, and it was just as good as I remembered. Great food, great service, great value. I'll try not to wait so long before my next visit.

Got the food fast and the rose water lemonade was good. Mango juice tasted like Jumex and that's yummy to me lol Waitresses were nice and attentive. Bathrooms and the floors in the dining area need some TLC. Hopefully the kitchens kept up with. Waters we did not drink. They should probably clean up the walkway to the bathroom too there was just a bunch of stuff. They also have a store attached which was cool. We didn't look but still cool. Chicken shawarma was bomb!

Every detail you notice is extravagant and purposeful. Visiting on a Saturday for lunch, there were plenty of other families eating together too. I noticed the crowd was mostly older, which lets you know this restaurant is a true staple in the community (I find that usually the old people know what's up). As all 4 of us weren't super hungry, we split the Persian Room Special- Combination of barg (Filet mignon), chicken filet and Koobideh kebab, served with basmati rice and grilled tomato. It was a huge portion of food, served on a large silver platter. The menu states that it serves 2, but it perfectly filled us 4 adults! Granted, we weren't super hungry to begin with, but 2 is definitely an underestimate. I'd say it can easily satisfy 3 hungry adults. Anyway, quantity aside, THE FOOD WAS AMAZING! Everything was so flavorful and paired well together. The meat was also juicy. My favorite was the koobideh kebab for sure. There isn't much more I can say, as the food speaks for itself. The Persian Room is definitely something you need to try for yourself. Weeks later, I'm still craving it and will definitely be back!

Her lamb shank was so fatty, there was barely any meat. The sauce it comes it wasn't hot - it was sort of warm, and she said the flavor wasn't there. My rack of lamb was ok, cooked to rare just how I wanted it, but it too, had a lot of sinew for little meat lollipops. My rice was also room temp, which could be fine, but seemed a bit odd to me. Thankfully this was a business meal, but we would have been both extremely disappointed had it come from our own pockets. Given all the five star reviews, I want to think this was a really off night. Wouldn't be my first choice next time, but I could go back and give it another shot.

Wear comfortable shoes. There was a $10 pp charge and cash only. Not sure why the reviews speak so negatively about security. They were all very friendly and welcoming with me and husband. There's plenty of seating inside and outside and no charge for tables. It was slow when we arrived around 10 pm but there was a live DJ playing trap and hip hop. It slowly filled up and by 12 there was no seating available. The crowd was predominately black which was comforting since my husband and I are a biracial couple (he's black im Puerto Rican) and we barely came across many black people or Hispanics for that matter, in the Scottsdale area. It felt welcoming and they played the music we had been looking for the entire weekend. We got a hoohak and a few drinks. The hookah is about $65 and the drinks are highly priced which is common in that area so it was expected but the drinks were strong so we couldn't complain at the price. There were only servers but they were both on top of it and constantly checked on our table. Security was also helping a lot with seating staff, cleaning tables and even changing out hot coals. Overall it is THE place we've been in search for. It is so much better than in an overcrowded club with no place to sit. This will be our go to place and I can see that it's also plenty of customers favorite as well since I witness a lot of the customers being greeted with hugs like they were family. Don't listen to the reviews and check it out for yourself. This place is a great vibe, I highly recommend.
