Mary at Merry Nails is one of the best mail artist I've ever had. I can bring in a picture of the design I desire and she can do my nails exactly as the picture or she adds changes that improve the design even more. Mary even creates designs she thinks would work for me and I've never been disappointed. An important note: when I'd been temporarily disabled Mary as well as the rest of the salon went out of the way to make sure I was comfortable. I found this shop when I no longer could see my former manicurist and I have never regretted this amazing find. I highly recommend Mary and this wonderful shop. read more

This place is horrible. I showed the lady the shape I wanted and this is what I got. Left vs right. She kept insisting it was my finger that made the shape weird and was very rude. I wish I could give 0 stars. I asked in the beginning if she could do the set. I told her if she couldn't just to let me know and no hard feelings. She insisted she knew what to do. It is the older woman on the last desk closest to the door with short hair. Don't say I didn't warn you if yours come out looking differently than what you pictured. I also have cuts all over my fingers from her filing way too hard and cutting me with the electric filers. My friend recommended me this place and I was blown away. I got a full set of gel acrylics with 5/10 nails with ombré 5/10 sparkle french tip and got a rhinestone design. I showed them my inspo and they totally got it, even if they didn't have exactly what the photo looked like, they were able to execute my vision. They even asked for my opinions on which powder, glitter; and rhinestones to use to make sure I knew exactly what I was doing. This set took them less than 2 hours to do and it was very affordable. Definitely not a good feel from the moment we walked in. Don't get me wrong they act all nice, but all they do is talk crap which is normal, but it was so noticeable it made me uncomfortable. Now for my pedicure... It was horrible, I mean if you are doing this for a living I would think you would put some TLC into it. He cut me when trying to figure out how to get my ingrown out and his scrubbing was awful. It was like he was just learning on my feet. I also seen him put the tools he used on me into a sterilizing bag and put it back in the drawer yuck...The lady was pushy when I only wanted a regular pedicure. I can totally tell she was unhappy that I was get that pedicure and polish instead of gel. Definitely not coming back here. It's unfortunate because the owner seems nice. read more

First time here getting pedicure ($25) and I am delighted! Came on Friday around 10am and didn't have to wait. They spent about 30 minutes cleaning and shaping my nails and then massaging my leg and scrubbing my feet. Was totally worth the $25. My toes look super clean. So I checked out this place for the first time this past weekend since my regular nail place was booked. I was not impressed at all. Although the staff was extremely nice and welcoming, my manicure took all of like 15 minutes (more like 12?). The lady was in a rush for some reason, and didn't really let my layers dry as she was applying the nail polish. The manicure itself was average, but the polish application was not great. It's only been three days, and I've had to remove the nail polish since then since it chipped on almost every finger. I wish they'd be a little more patient! read more

I don't trust anyone except Mary with my nails! Both pink and white solar nails or gel. They always look great, never lift or turn yellow like at other places. She cares about QUALITY! I am rough on my nails..last weekend I was painting, scraping paint off things with my nails, moving furniture, cleaning like crazy...and there wasn't a scratch, chip or dent anywhere. They last for weeks. Just went in for a fill. Only $20. Highly recommend making an appointment with Mary. Pedicures are also great with any of the girls. Tools are sanitized. Second time here, first time I went to get one nail repaired, that had broken. They did a good job. This time I had major nail issues, seriously jacked up due to going to another nail place and not doing research on it. After reading reviews on here I decided to go over during my lunch and see. They were able to take me at lunch, but I only had an hour and didn't want to have to rush, so I asked if I could come in at 5 after work, they said ok. I came back and got something called Solar nails $45. its $20 for fill. this doesn't include tip. They don't put on tips they just put the pink and white powder on your own nails. It is less time and I was in at 5 and out by 6. I like this procedure better than getting tips, cause I like short nails anyways. My only thing I didn't like about it is that they don't use gel at the end, just a buffing cream which makes them shiny, but I really like them shiny and glossy. So I ended up going home and putting on some clear glitter nail polish. I will see the next go around if they can put something on it to make em shinier, I'm not sure if they can put gel over it, but it can't hurt to ask. Overall I am pleased with this place, everyone's nice, and not a lot of chit chat. I don't know if its cause it was Wednesday afternoon or what , but I like the atmosphere. I didn't get a chance to get a pedicure, but I will be going back to try it, A lady was getting her feet done, and they are very sanitary, and they did a good job. I have to finally write a review for my one and only absolute "favorite" nail place, it is long overdue. I have been coming to Merry Nails for over 12 years and been doing my nails in general for over 20 yrs and before I found Merry Nails I had the most horrible experiences, you name it I had it done. That has led me to be VERY picky with my nails. When I came to Mary (the Owner) for the first time I thought oh no here I go again and sighed to myself expecting yet another horrible experience and I was wrong. Mary suggested I get Solar Nails in French Manicure I was open to it and I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT and have kept them the same ever since. After discovering my new favorite nail place i had to move to North Carolina and sadly had to start my search all over again leaving me with BAD nails so every time I came back to California my first stop was Merry Nails =). There is no other nail place I would owe my loyalty to but this one. As for the pedicures...I have yet to be disappointed, all the gals have been fantastic and very sweet but I do have a preference and so does everyone else hence the reason she books up so quickly and thats 'Lily' she takes her time to make sure your feet leave feeling pampered..... If you like a little flower or creative designs, they do a great job as well...I keep mine simple but occasionally like to sport a little flower for fun. =) As for the negative reviews, I get it....it wasn't what you wanted or expected however I have learned when you walk in to a nail place you cannot just walk in and say "can I get a full set or a Mani/Pedi' and not be specific as to what you like....remember they see many customers a day/weekly and each one likes something different. Be specific and state your preference and I guarantee you will be satisfied. read more
