I'm not a fan of dd's Discounts. Not because I'm too boujee or anything but simply because I have absolutely no patience to be sifting through all of the racks. With that said, my sister in law LOVES this place! My visits only stem from her requests to visit. While I may not purchase anything personally, I do find joy in shifting through the toy section with my daughter. I am always amazed by how long she is able to entertain herself with the random things that she finds. Above all, staff is really nice. They greet you upon arrival and aren't grumpy if/when you ask them questions. Everyone does their job and they don't complain. 4 stars. read more

Great store with great discounts. We usually pick up our Amazon packages from here and shop for some items while we are at the store. Deals are usually good and their baby section has a lot of good products and good options. Staff is friendly. Wait times could get a bit longer during holiday season but the staff makes sure to move the lines faster. Their hand bags section has some vegan options and they seem interesting so would highly recommend to check it out. read more

I actually love shopping at DDS, this is more a concern. The problem I had today, was on a purchase for an active workout outfit set. All three items were connected which consisted of a jacket, pants, and a tank top. When I went to pay with the cashier, she was an older woman, she clearly detached the items and said the tank top was separate. I understand she said she has to go off of what their tags say which it did say two set item, however when she scanned the pants and jacket my receipt clearly states 3 set item? I showed her my receipt and she said she still couldn't do anything about it? It's obviously a part of the deal when it clearly states it's supposed to be a 3 set item, and I've bought a similar outfit like this a few weeks ago...the fact that she physically detached the item was strange. Whats even more strange is all the barcodes for all 3 items matched and she was claiming that tank top on its on was $19, and the pants with the jacket together were $19. I have been shopping at DDS for a long time and I've never had workout tank top cost $19 on its own FROM there. Customer service= piece of shit. I came in here because my mom like to get her home appliances here and I happened to run into a blazer I liked for ONLY 7.99. I gave in and purchased it but little did I know when they rang me up they didn't remove the sensor tag. I found out when I got home and didn't have time to come back until the next day to ask them to remove it WITH the receipt and TAG still ON it too! The Loss Prevention guy checked the receipt and tag telling the associate everything matches and it's from their store; Yet the sales associate on site STILL denied that the sensor is not from their store and she would have to check the cameras. Like ok I understand you gotta do what you got to do to back ur ass from getting in trouble with ur boss but the fact that after they checked the camera and removed the tag she didn't even apologize. She said "Next time this happens, you take these things back to us immediately not the next day" . Like bitch you think people got time on their hands ? People got jobs and shit to do. Your ass should be apologizing on behalf of your store for wasting my damn time to drive back to get the sensor removed and that you made me wait 20 min for you to check the camera for a fuckin blazer that is $7.99?! Imagine Ross but a more disorganized, small, and a narrow selection of clothing BUT I can't knock the fact that I got my short shorts for $10. I was feeling like a cow so I got my achieved size (size 3) and also a size 5 (in case I gained weight) but I ended up fitting perfectly in a size 3 so KUDOS. The lady at the fitting room WAS not pleasant at all. My Mom and I came on a Sunday around 12pm and for some reason the store was not busy, packed, or filled w/ customers looking for discounts at all. I was the only one about to go into the fitting room.. when I saw her, middle aged Mexican woman.. she told me to stand behind the sign, hang my items up, she counted it, and then gave me a #. BS. I was the only one for God's sakes and I told you I had 4 to try.. The guy ringing me up was unpleasant too. He did not show any signs that he was happy to have a job.. I swear the wrong types of people get employment while the ones that needs and want to work is out of luck. The bras/panties/lingerie aisle is the worst - I did not even attempt to look. The tops and pants are labeled by sections and the hangers have a color coded label (SM, MED, LG) so it made the shopping search for shorts so much easier so I'll give this place that. I made out like a bandit here! The store was very clean and well stocked. COVID security measures were in place here so I felt safe about coming here. I came here looking for loungewear for my Son and I. Managed to find three sets of brand name top and bottom pajamas, three pairs of basketball shorts, two hoodies for me, one jacket, a sports bag, one hoodie and two shirts, all 18 items totaled a little over $125. Just got profiled at DDs Discounts in Berryessa, San Jose with my bf over a bag policy that is nowhere to be seen or able to be printed out in the store. Came in to look at air fresheners because I needed a car freshener. Less then 5 minutes in the store the "Security person", Adrian, walks over and says if i could leave my bag upfront. I asked why " my manager said so and its store policy he said she is at the front you can talk to her" okay i go up there. The "manager" Diamond, told me if it is bigger than a handbag, and it was store policy. Asked her to "let me see your store policy". She Tried to print out a receipt look in the back of it & Nothing, she then says "I can call the other manager over since i am still in training" Yet people walking and shopping with bigger handbags around than mine. And they kept saying it's store policy. Just because my backpack is not leather or purse looking material. Question the "security" person ' why did you not stop me n told me that I had to leave my backpack as soon as i walked in?" "I didn't see you wearing it. If you're a healthcare worker and you don't shop for scrubs as DD's Discount, you are SLEEPING on incredible prices! Prior to my current job, I normally wear professional dresses and/or business casual looks. Now that I work in a hospital I wear scrubs. A lot of go to scrubs is Figs, which I think is super overpriced... I bought about 10 scrub tops and 5 pants and I spent about $130!! The material and the way they fit is superb as well. They've held up in the wash so far, but let's see how it goes.... Will be stopping by more DDs for more scrubs lol read more

What a difference another location makes. dd's has a place roughly 10 miles from where I live, and I was not impressed, not one little bit. It's much different in San Jose. I stopped into the Dollar Tree to pick up some things, only to find that there is a dd's next door. I need to buy my daughter some clothes anyway, let's see what this store has. It's not the best; you can't get 10 junior girls outfits for $9.98. That means I'll never find the best, har har. But for just under $20, I did snag a nice dress and two nice tops for her. You need to look hard and burn a lot of gas to find a deal like that. This dd's gets 3 stars, in contrast to the Picksburg one getting 2, because of its selection of others. The mens clothing and shoes were much better, a much larger selection of shoes. It looks like the women's section is sizeable too, I can't speak for the quality and price. Not much upper-end, but the clientele probably wouldn't buy it anyway. I don't see myself switching from Savers to this one, I'm likely to go to both when I'm in the South Bay and looking for girl clothing. It's a pretty good place to try out for other things, too. read more

I LOVE dd's discounts to buy sexy super affordable clothes, even cheaper than Ross (yonger sister of Ross, even cheaper). I found it by pure coincidence and I was happy like a hummingbird! When I saw the prices, I wanted to take the whole store with me. I have been since a couple of times and can't wait to go back and get more sports clothes (good friends extraordinary prices, like $8 for something tagged $88). I got lot of sexy mini dresses, tops with the style and colors that I like for only $4 and underwear very pretty for almost nothing. What I don't recommend is the cosmetics section, they should improve in bringing better quality products. Shoes are also awesome, got very pretty flats for $8, nicely done, not shoddy looking at all. I haven't explore yet all the home stuff goodies, but they have plenty and rotating. read more

So I always drive by a bunch of DD's Discounts all over the bay area wondering what kind of store it is. Is it a grocery store (it's what I thought it was at first)? Is it like a Dollar Tree? A Ross? Enter Me and my partner in crime Nicky. Dollar Tree was next door, so if this place was a bust, then we could just run next door. In front of the store was a dude and his food cart selling those Mexican chips they sell around my neighborhood. They put hot sauce, and it's in a plastic bag? Never knew what they were called... Right when we entered the premises, we were greeted by a Loss Prevention dude (it says so on his back minus the dude part). The store is and probably always be a hot mess. Ran over to the housewares section, found some cheap pillows, bunch of car mats, lots of wall frames, etc. Maybe I'll find something cool over at the shoe section-um no. Maybe I'll find something cool over at the clothing section-no. This place is really overwhelming if you plan on finding a wardrobe here. Unless it's for children, I suggest you head over to Ross. Every time I shop the San Jose/Saratoga Ave store the "Security " has a way of making a person feel like they were shoplifting. They followed or watched me the entire time, isn't that profiling? Hey, I was there for almost 90 minutes and from the time I entered the door it started! I spend over $100 every time I go there, that's a lot for a discount store. I find it to be rude and makes me uncomfortable having eyes following me. I have mentioned it to staff and they just continue. Why? Security needs to find a less obvious way to watch whom they watch. Came here to get a pair of shoes for my oldest and my youngest ( really needed to use the bathroom. I asked if she could use the bathroom, a woman named Danielle who said she was the store manager was very rude and nasty to me. I said look shes small and about to pee her pants could you please allow her to use the bathroom, she finally agreed and then proceeded to harass me as I waited for my daughter. She kept telling me how she didnt have to let anyone in and how she was doing me a favor and I should be thankful and how it will never happen again, I just stood there so confused. We thought it was another dollar store like place but it's more like a low end Ross? Layout and merchandise are similar, of course, the merchandise do not have any "brand name" but more "off brand names". Nonetheless, the items are of current trend and decent quality for the price. This first visit here was fruitful - my sister got 2 sets of bathroom rugs for $7.99/set. She was mighty happy as she explained the same sells for $9.99-$12.99 at Marshalls and other similar stores. I did even better, 2 sets of 2 panels w/ scarf at $7.99/set - something that will cost upward of $12.99 at Target and other places. Two pairs of fuzzy cushy slippers - one w/ large snoopy embroidery at $5.99 and an Aerosole at $4.99. Last but not least, a trendy top w/ bright clear plastic buttons at $5.99 and two pullover dress at $7.99 and $10.99 - perfect for the summer around the neighborhood or my upcoming trip to New Orleans. I live really close, so I tend to walk in to buy what I need for interviews and such when I need it. Suddenly, as of last month, the cashier stops what she's doing, smile, and says "welcome to dds." Maybe it's because I looked super ripped and beamed with confidence from destroying that iron at the gym before I went. I personally like to think I was just super attractive that day, but I am wrong. And as the other yelper said this DD's does not have a customer restroom either which sucks because you will be in there for a long time.... the lines are always long and you weill spend some time looking through some junk. I got a really cute Baby Phat bomber jacket for $80.00, their purses are off the hook, and when they had perfume it was priced well (only the "real" perfume- not the Marcus Jacobson- if you know anything about perfume you know what I mean). And I have to agree housewares are the bomb. I got some pots for $10.00... no name brand but who cares- they do the job and seem to be very sturdy. I looooooooveeeee the D... DD's discounts that is! I've always wanted to go to the one here in Vegas, alas I never go to that lovely area so when my not mama in law took me here I was actually super excited. This store is huge, it's basically like a Ross, just cheaper and a little more cluttered. Upon entering the nice security dude welcomes you, this is when your adventure begins. To the right you have your purses, shoes, and housewares. I found an awesome cross body gray colored purse for 11.99$! Its awesome! The purse area is some-what color coded, but it doesn't stay that way with its patrons. The shoe area is small and the selection isnt very huge, if you wear a size 9 like me. But they do have some cheap finds! Clothing is located in the middle areas and the rows and aisles are weird. Juniors aisles are vertical and plus is horizontal. Then you have the dresses which is also vertical. I guess whatever works, right? For us fatty women they do have a great selection of clothing for great prices! I found a whole crap ton of shirts and even pants all priced under 9.99$! I'm a cheapskate, but these clothes were all constructed with a good quality. I bought this blouse that was 19.99$ at Target for only 4.99$, beware though! I found this hella cute blouse for 5.99$ and once I got home to try it on there was a huge whole on the seam. The great thing about this place is they take returns and even give you money back with your receipt not just a gift card or exchange like other stores. The only qualms I have with this store is that there are no bathrooms, and you really can't find a worker on the floor. The cashiers though are super nice and helpful! Yay! read more

DD's is a lower end discount store. Hierarchy of discount stores is as follows (least to greatest): DD's Discounts, Ross, Marshall's, TJ Maxx. Unlike sister store Ross, there's almost a complete lack of name brands. But don't let that deter you from coming in and scoring some awesome, albeit a bit random, stuff. For example, my sis found the cutest pink zebra print car floor mats, which were just ten bucks for the set. I fared pretty well, myself. I walked away with purple plush slippers with bow and charm details ($5), cute print no-show socks ($4/six pack), and best of all... a Hello Kitty comforter ($19)!! Would I say DD's is awesome for it's clothes? Not so much, but they have great accessories. Not including the shoes or handbags, anyway. The selection is sparse and mainly off brands. read more

Although, I believe Marshall's and TJ Maxx are very similar and at the very top is Loehmann's. I find that if you're willing to shop at Ross, you might as well skip it and go straight to DD's. They have very similar looking stuff, but DD's is much, much cheaper! Yes, DD's lacks the brand name, but you can't even tell. Every department is fair game here. I even found a bunch of decent women and juniors clothes. I LOVE the men's section. You can find nice dress shirts, light jackets, and sweaters for under $20. Great place to do your Christmas shopping. Last time I was here, I spent $65 on gifts for seven people! My greatest find: a fleece lined jacket for $6.99! But, like Ross, the lines get crazy. Last week, I picked up a pair of cute black leather boots for only $17.99 which would typically cost $75 or more at another shoe store. You can always find a cute sweater, velour/cotton workout set, or jacket to buy for under $20. Also they have amazing deals on children's clothes and accessories-most of the time you can buy something lovely for $4.99. I had to give it 4 stars instead of 5 because at times it takes a while to find a cute shirt. It may take at least a half hour to find a specific style/design. I once ran in here at 8pm on a school night because I needed a green shirt for an event. It wasn't very crowded at all! The line, sure, was a little lengthy since it was near closing time. But I found a cheap green longsleeve for only 7.99! It was late and I was in a hurry, but I grazed through the shoes and home section for a bit. Haven't had time to look through thoroughly, but I have a good idea what's going on. This store sells a bunch of independent labels that look like quality. I wouldn't bother with the shoes though because their sometimes defected,look at the bottoms.
