This place is really a welcome addition to Ossining. Since opening last winter, they've managed to hire some excellent servers and get the place running like clockwork. This is not fine dining of course, but the quality is exceptional for a diner. Each meal starts out with complimentary popcorn which is a nice change of pace from a basket of bread (especially for those of us who can't eat bread) The dinner salads are interesting and tasty and the produce is always very fresh. The wraps, burgers and so on are equally tasty and nicely prepared. This is way better than your average diner and has become our go-to place when we need a convenient meal at a reasonable price and service with a smile. The overall look is a diner . . . but the shredded duck, carmelized onions, fig jam, thin sliced apple and goat cheese sandwich was not typical diner fare! I requested it on toasted cabatta bread and it was wonderful. Served with a heap of sweet potato fries and slaw ! My BF had a hamburger which was huge and fries. He said it was a really good burger. He's a burger guy, but there are lot's of interesting items on the menu to choose from. Finally, a true test of "diner" cuisine we shared a slice of cheesecake. this diner is so good but the pour service made me jump to land mark diner. i had a server names maybe leo and i'm sitting for over 13 minutes and no acknowledgment about even water. i was so discouraged i went to land mark diner and got serviced in 5 min. i am in the retail business and i understand customer service especially if i am playing good money and i tip very well. it's just misfortunate if this experience because i love the ability they offer for kids witch they do very well with crayons and a coloring page. Recently visited this newish diner on a Saturday afternoon. Friendly and fast service. I split a grilled cheese sandwich and some pancakes with my husband. Pancakes were a tad too cold for me but otherwise good. Grilled cheese was served on thick multigrain bread. Loved the bread but wasn't crazy about the buttered exterior. It's a personal thing - I don't like a slippery, oily grilled cheese. I prefer a dry toast. The sandwich was good and had A LOT of (not too much) cheese. Overall a very positive experience. The menu was vast and more interesting than your run-of-the-mill diner offerings. I look forward to returning to try the mac n cheese and salad options. read more

Second time here. Did not like the first time. Giving them another chance but still not happy. Ordered some waffles and a sandwich for pick-up. My son in law ordered take out meatballs and spaghetti from the children's menu for my grandson. The center of the meatball was raw. He drove back to DD's and was told by the chef and the manager that in fact the raw center was just the way the meat looked. No apologies or money back. They gave him another one and a piece of pie. When he came back, we saw that the meatballs were tiny and practically no sauce. My grandson wouldn't eat it. I went back and was told by the chef that they just look raw because he put in lots of garlic. Garlic apparently turns your meatballs into raw looking meat. The replacement meatballs looked cooked because they were chopped meat. What were the other meatballs made of? Still no apology. They do not know the owner's phone number or name. Nobody there speaks to the all mighty owner ever, except for the manager who wasn't there. So now the NYS Department of Health will be involved. read more

Used to Like I wanted to give this diner a 5 star rating, as the food and service are always good, but we had a really bad experience there on Saturday. I left my debit card on the table somewhere and realized it when I went to pay the bill. We looked all over. The woman at the cashier's desk, maybe she was the manager, but not sure was not helpful or even understanding or upset that I lost my card. I wanted to look through the menus as it was the only place it could have been, but she would not let me look through all the menus saying it wasn't there. She said the breakfast was on the house and have a nice day. Very dismissive. I left my cell phone number in case it was found. I called there today, two days later and guess what? It's there in the drawer. No one ever called me. So, will not be giving this diner any more business. Sorry, but someone should have called as soon as it was found. read more

We had a fabulous Friday night dinner here with great service, fabulous dinner and desserts. For appetizers, we ordered the nachos with pulled pork, tavern tater tots, and the hot pretzel. We thoroughly enjoyed all of the appetizers and all were presented beautifully. For dinner, I ordered the Greek salad which was very fresh and was a large portion (could have shared between 2-3 people). My boyfriend got the Reuben, which he loved. We were very happy with DD's. The service was top notch. The fare was good hardy dinner food. Very family friendly. Very quick. My 8 yesr old says it's a zoom restaurant. Zoom you got your food. Zoom coffee refill without having to ask. Dropped a fork? You guessed it my 6 year old dropped her fork and zoom out of no where the waitress was there with a new one before we could ask. I want to like this place so bad! They have a old school diner atmosphere with things very unique, such as fried green beans, shrimp Po boy etc. The food is decent but every other time I order from here im shaking my head. This time I ordered pickup through the online system and arrived 15 minutes after and still waited 10 minutes despite the restaurant being basically empty. Once I saw the burger, the top bun was on the side of the burger, pressed against the foil, like it was thrown in the box. I know I ordered the Big Dipper but that being said, wouldn't you be more careful knowing that. It became an absolute soggy mess! Also, the burger comes with a sauce to dip the burger and they only gave me like 2 drops. Cheap restaurants do that crap! For a $13.50 burger, should've been filled up halfway at least.(Photo below) Past experiences dining in the restaurant include forgetting waters, condiments, being ignored when ready to receive our bill. This is such a great place. We moved to the area 6 months ago and this has quickly become one of our fave 'low key' dining spots. Have yet to order something that wasn't delicious and it's the first diner I've been to where the food is served up so nicely, you can tell the chef has an eye for detail. They've got a handy online reservation system, too! This would be a five star review, except that I heard they don't necessarily treat their staff as well as they should. Oh my! I usually go straight for the eggs Benedict when I'm visiting a new breakfast spot. I didn't stray too far from the Benedict but I did try something new. I got the Highlander. So good! Poached egg, pureed white beans, a slice of tomato, spinach, and chive hollandaise on an English muffin. There were home fries as a side but I truly was so satisfied by the Highlander that I didn't eat much of the home fries. The service was attentive and the prices reasonable. It's a 3 1/2 star. Staff was nice and place was clean. I like seeing places busy that's always a good sign. We went at lunch time and were seated right away. Allie was our server and she was pleasant and attentive. Food was good. It's was typical of most places in Ossining, both good and bad parts but nothing worth mentioning since they have just opened. I'll go back to try breakfast. And it's not that I wouldn't go back for lunch but I wasn't that wowed to have to go back for lunch or dinner type foods. I will say this. Serving frozen fries and onion rings is lame. I expected fresh cut but got frozen and for 30 bucks plus tip for a burger and sandwich I expect fresh. Something to consider. Returned for dinner a few nights ago and again I'm not overly impressed. The burgers were dry and over cooked. The chili lime dressing for a salad was tasteless. Service was slow and a bit sloppy... I'm confident that they will do better. I will still go back for breakfast and give another update. read more

Really enjoyed this restaurant. Stopped by on the weekend for the first time, and I was honestly very impressed. My understanding is this is a new restaurant, I drove past it in the past and it looked like an abandoned old diner, but is new new and revamped. Interior is very classy, clean and styling, exactly what a diner should look like. Service was perfect, didn't have a problem with it. Waitress was very nice, did everything very timely, the food and check were brought out without any wait which was good Food was also good. I got the classic eggs and sausage, tasted like any other diner like it should have. Small complaint would be the toast, it was pre-buttered with quite a heavy portion, I'd prefer the butter on the side but that was fine The one star I'm taking off is from my order of the omelette. Not sure if the blame was for the menu, waitress, or kitchen but I ordered a vegetable and cheese omelette. Menu specified that it included tomatoes, spinach, onions, mushrooms, etc. but when I came to the table it was only cheese. The waitress was nice about it and said it can be reordered and you can pick 1 vegetable topping and an extra charge for any additional, which was ok but I decided to just eat the one I had to avoid waiting extra longer. Though the menu did specifically state all those vegetables were to be included. So this definitely has to be looked at by the staff Besides that, this was a good experience and since I live pretty close I'm definitely coming back read more
