Concrete work was good, However the backfill was clay full of rocks & glass & not topsoil. Grass will not grow on the backfill. Best to request topsoil to grow grass on the backfill. I texted him & he said to hire a landscaper. read more

Horrible job, abusive and incompetent owner. They busted a drainage pipe and then poured concrete directly over/into it. We had to have the whole thing excavated and replaced to the tune of $7500 (so far). When we called to (very calmly) notify them of the damage caused and to see if they (or their insurance if they have it) can rectify this, the owner started screaming expletives and death threats (!!). This happened multiple times. The conversation ended with the owner screaming at my sister: "Suck my d*** and die b****" and hanging up the phone. In addition to that, they hit a support column with a Bobcat which caused cracks in the walls upstairs. Also poured concrete over a garage drain, sealing it and claimed that it was unnecessary ( they get to decide?). And a bunch of minor damage to gate, walls etc. This is hands down the worst contractor I've ever dealt with. Stay away!!! read more

Dale did the decking around our pool. He said that he'd done this before, but it was obvious, when he pushed the walls of the pool in about 3 feet with his bobcat, that he'd never done this kind of work. He sold the skimmer return collars that I gave him to install. (They were worth $75 ea X 3) He said that they were not needed. They were. Thankfully we only paid for half up front (a huge mistake) and withheld about a 1/4 of the total, as he used the wrong materials for the base of the interior of the pool. After I told him I wasn't paying the rest (I had to have his work repaired) he put a mechanics lien on my home. Thankfully, in Johnson county, he had to start foreclosure on my house within 1 year. The lien timed out so he gets nada! I pray nobody uses this company or ANY company DALE WILLIAMS represents or works for. He is not trustworthy. Buyer Beware! read more

They did a fair job. It has been one year and a piece of our sidewalk has crumbled. I have not been able to get a response from them. There is a crack down the center of the drive--I do know that concrete cracks. They got concrete on the side of the house. They should cover garage door openings and lower parts of the house to protect garage contents from all the dust and the house from concrete chunks. The majority of the drive seems to be holding up well. read more

Poured a new concrete porch and steps for me and not only was it sloppy he was argumentative when I asked him to clean up some spots and proceeded to scrape all the trim off the front of my house. Terrible company and owner do not use We hired Dale at D.C.Concrete to replace the porch & stairs in the front of our house. BIG mistake. Check several places for reviews. BBB, Yelp & more & you'll find several reviews describing the owner Dale's bad behavior. Also, make sure you get an actual contract & take before & after pics in case you have problems. The job was completed in about 2 days. We had no complaints but there was still cleanup needed. That's where the problems started. Concrete splatter needed to be cleaned up & finishing touches to complete the job. Dale sent 1 guy on a Friday night to clean up & put a sealant on the stairs. The guy was at our house from about 6-10 pm. He didn't finish the cleanup & put so much chemical on the stairs our house reeked for almost 24 hours. The stairs are still stained in places with this chemical 3 months later. Dale said it will go away. When will it go away Dale? 3 years from now? We complained to Dale who said the guy was new and he fired him for the mistake. If he was new and didn't know what he was doing why send him to a job alone? Dale comes by a few days later to finish the cleanup himself & I thought our business was done. My wife is the one who dealt with him the whole time & contacted him again to come by & clean a few other spots which he agreed was necessary & said he would do. (I saw the texts.) This was still right around the time the job was completed. I work nights & sleep during the day. Almost 2 months passed since the job was done & around 3 pm on Monday 6/3 I wake up to the sound of a concrete saw & wonder what's going on. I look out my window & see 5 guys removing blocks from the retaining wall in the front yard & using a concrete saw on our brand new stairs. I walk outside thinking these ppl are at the wrong house. Nope, it's Dale and the gang taking apart our retaining wall...to clean up concrete splatter. I call my wife to see what's going on. She said Dale texted her & said he'd come by & clean the remaining spots but she didn't know he was going to take our wall apart. Basically Dale decided the concrete splatter couldn't be cleaned without replacing some blocks but didn't call to ask if we would want that done. Spoiler alert: We would have said no. I told him to stop what they're doing while I was on the phone discussing the situation. He gets angry & tells his guys to put everything back. They sloppily put the blocks back & I'll probably have to pay someone else to get everything fitting the way it's supposed to. I was not rude to Dale. Dale on the other hand was cussing at me, dropping f-bombs, saying that my wife is getting on his effing nerves & more. I tell him, "She told you to wait until after 5 pm when she was home to show you what she wanted done. He yells "I don't have time for that!!" I tell him we paid a lot of money to do this project & this is how you treat your customer? He says "It may be a lot of money to you!!" I'm not rich and yes $3500 is a lot of money to me. He cusses out his customer in front of his crew. Dale is a real piece of work. I tell him they need to at least fix the damage they already did. He says they will come back. After that I called him several times and sent texts over the next few days to see when they would return but he never responded. This is something described in other reviews as well. So we paid this company about $3500 for a new concrete porch and stairs and ended up with Dale & DC Concrete actually causing property damage to my retaining wall and leaving cuts and cracks in the brand new stairs we just paid for which also need to be repaired. We had our drive way done in Aug and they did not do it correctly and water still collects in the driveway which was the reason I had it repaired by them. They have put me off until Nov 2nd to come fix it and they have been putting me off ever since. Today the 18th of Nov they were to be here at 7:30 AM then called and said they will be here at 3:30-4:00 PM. No show for the 4th time. This company is not worth the time or money spent. I would not recommend them for any job. Update: After informing them I was going to take alternate action to get it done they finally came out and corrected the problem. We had the unfortunate experience of hiring DC Concrete to replace our driveway. At first, Dale seemed very professional and easy to work with. The price he quoted was fair and the job was completed in a timely manner. We paid in full the day the job was completed and that is when our experience with DC Concrete took a turn for the worse. Upon completion of the job, we noticed several areas of discoloration. Our driveway looked very splotchy and aesthetically unappealing. When we asked Dale about it, he said it would fade in a couple weeks. Well, its been almost 5 months and it looks just as bad as the day the job was completed. After reaching out to Dale to explain our concern, he again stated.....it will fade. I live at 15009 S. Locust St. in Olathe. Your concrete company came to my house and poured half my driveway and my front steps because the old steps were breaking away from the stoop. Now just a few months after you repoured the front steps they are breaking away from the stoop again. You told me they wouldn't ever break away again was this just a line of bullshit or what. I have never felt more disrespected than while trying to deal with the owner, Dale. Shortly after completing the repair on my driveway, it started to break again. I called Dale knowing that I was still under warranty but he said that it wasn't due to his work and so it wasn't honored under his warranty. He offered to repair the small section that was cracked which I agreed to but that we should wait til it got warmer. I called again in the summer to set everything up, he answered and said he would come by to check things out and that's the last I've heard from him. He will not answer, nor will he return any of my messages. I'm getting ready to start the process of taking him to small claims court. If I could give zero stars I would. Hired DC concrete to put a pool deck around our pool. Dale was the cheapest, and his work shows it. He sunk the skimmers into the concrete instead of using the supplied collars to make them level. It started raining while he was pouring, and he asked me to go get him some plastic to cover the wet concrete. So, he was unprepared! The poured edge was nothing like I asked him to do. It was uneven and parts of the concrete had to be ground down to put the liner into the pool. I asked him to pour the bottom of the pool and he said he could. I asked for a portland cement/sand mix, NO ROCK, as this cuts the liner. He tried to get me to let him use rock. I refused...but he used rock anyway!!! It was poured in a way that I had to buy a commercial grinder and grind down 100' of concrete up to 3 inches to be able to fit the liner in. I asked him to keep trucks off our septic mound in the back. I looked out and a full cement truck was sitting on the mound destroying the lateral lines. When I wouldn't pay him the last $1000 I owed him because of the work and repairs I had to do, he put a lien on my house! This wasn't a problem as I didn't plan on moving in the next year and knew he wouldn't hire a lawyer to foreclose within that year! He has numerous records on file with the Johnson county legal system of him being sued by others, him trying to sue others, as well as domestic issues. To top all this off, while Dale was using his bobcat to move rock up against the sides of my pool walls, before pouring the decking, he pushed the pool wall inward toward the deep end of the pool. When I came out and asked, after watching him do it, he said that it "just fell in". That he was nowhere near it when it happened! He's a liar and a con man! Later, he texted and tried to say that I texted him at 3 in the morning. I didn't because I was more than DONE with him. He called the sheriff saying I was harassing him. They interviewed me and found nothing. I asked if they'd done this before because of Dale. They just smiled and rolled their eyes. If you like to argue and fight, hire DC concrete. read more
