I had water in the pan... why? The fan died. So my unit was freezing the dead fan & when it thawed, the water would fill the pan, set off the sensor and kill the power. Also, my unit is old. Mike came that night to price out a new system. I got two quotes from other companies. But decided on Shanahan because of their reputation, service as well as pricing. Talked with Mike and Conner (the owner) about our options and they came on a Saturday to install even though they didn't have an opening until Thursday. New HVAC filter, reset breaker. Thermostat batteries are fine. Still not kicking on. Sent Yelp message to RES because they have always been quick to respond. And they did this time as well and the woman who gave me a call was nice and tried to help. Pretty disappointed that they can't quickly swing by today. From what I've read, it's likely a dirty flame sensor or the ignitor switch (neither of which is a long job - I just don't have the tools). HVAC less than 5 years old, so parts are under warranty with RES; however, I had to call someone else. Bottom line: Someone else is coming today, but I could end up paying for parts. Kind of feels like my current needs weren't lucrative enough for RES to make a concerted effort to swing by.
