What a hidden gem of a music venue! Came here to see Bill O'Connell on a Wednesday night. My dad and I came a little early so we could eat and enjoy the space. Bear in mind the tables are quite small, and it is a tight space. We did order three dishes so they actually brought out a second table to make sure we had enough space. The food was surprisingly good, but I will say the charcuterie board could have used a lot more crackers. Salad was delicious and same with the homemade chips. *They do have an automatic 20% gratuity This was such an intimate setting. We sat in the second row, which honestly, I thought at first was too close but it ended up being just fine. However, next time I will take the third row with the booth. Bill and band were awesome, the benefit of such a small venue is that you get to see magic at work. Their hands were moving like crazy and you could feel how in love with music everyone was. Even everyone in the crowd were in a trance. I did take off two stars because the night was kind of ruined by a group in the front row. Two parents I'm assuming sat down in the front row and pulled two other chairs up. Totally fine, however the young two girls that were with them came after the show started and were extremely disruptive. They kept talking during the show, using their phones and being a nuisance. Everyone around was visibly annoyed trying to ignore them. The man with them was trying to quiet them down but clearly it didn't work. What happened to basic concert etiquette? After 20 minutes of this, I leaned over to my dad saying how rude this family was. Low and behold in the middle of the set the two girls went outside, and when they were coming back, they were so rowdy they knocked over a glass of the gentleman to my right and spilled red wine all over me and there was shattered glass on the floor. They didn't apologize and just sat down. I ended up having to grab a waiter to clean the wine and glass up. Quite the disruption. Horrible, everyone around had their experience tainted because of these "girls" and on top of that she started crying and wouldn't stop talking. It truly spoiled the night, and even worse they disrespected Bill and the other band members. They were in the very front row and just couldn't relax to enjoy the show. I really hope the band knows how amazing they were. Overall, 3.5/5 stars. Not a reflection on the venue or food but more the experience. I would have appreciated the hosts (who seemed to have known this family personally), waiter or someone to have asked them to quiet down or moved them to a table in the back if they wanted to talk a bit as to not disrupt the other guests.

Salvadoran tamale with pork green chile always delivers, and you get to enjoy great live or recorded jazz for free while you enjoy one of Denver's most delicious entrees.

I can't believe I seriously forgot to review this place! On a gf trip to where I used to live, I found out that Sy Smith was performing at this jazz area within the Denver Performing Arts Complex and I had to brave the cold to go. Sy was a musical friend of my best friend who passed away - DJ Kweston so I had to go to the performance as a tribute to both! The area was half full which was great for this intimate venue with small auditorium style seating. I can imagine how this place would jump in the summer and spring! I opted to get a Hot Toddy ($12) and slice of olive cake ($12) since this was a late night show. The olive oil cake was good and thick while the hot toddy helped move it down. The size and presentation of the slice of cake was okay for the price. I would ask for the cake to be warmed though since it was obvious it was in the frig before. With option to order via app and pay with your card, I think that needs to run a bit smoother with the waiters but it was good to have. All in all the venue and its set up for the artist was good to see. Sy was great as usual and it was good to get up to speed with her musical and cancer free journey while listening to great music! Cheers.

I'm very disappointed that Dazzle is one of the establishments who have decided to automatically add gratuity onto customer's bills and makes no mention of the added charge. It's egregious to me when someone doesn't know they've been charged and think they need to tip again, it's taking money from unassuming people. It was just 2 of us at the bar. We each had a drink and shared an app. That's it! There'd be NO expectation given that simple scenario (not a group or anything or big table) there'd be a 20% grat charge. Here's the multitude of problems I see with choosing to do this: - People are often out with others, they're busy, talking, trying to have a good time. It's a very distracting situation to notice a small line item on the bill. It should be verbally stated by staff that gratuity is being added. They know what they're doing by not saying anything and it is angering if anyone is trying to sneak a 40% double tip from unknowing customers. Do the right thing -- this ain't it. - Ever notice how faint the ink is on most of these laser-printed checks that most places now use? I swear it's by design. Half the time I can't even read what's on the lightly printed but also the small font choice. The ink isn't even black, it's grey on a white background. That's not easy to read. So, it's easy to not notice. - Additionally, bills with small, light writing on top of it are given in very dimly lit bars. Stacking the odds... you can't always see what's even listed on the bill to notice the extra charge was added. - Gratuity is NOT required. It never has been required. It's the choice of the customer to provide gratuity based on their choice and their perceived quality of service. Even if it's added it is still not required by any law. As server, I NEVER added gratuity to my customer's bills and NOT tell them it's there!! I knew it was wrong to do so, so I did not do it. I'd feel guilty and not want to bamboozle them with double the gratuity unbeknownst to them. And I only made $3.00 per hour!!!! It's still that amount in my home state, it has not even gone up for servers (in particular not bartenders) in all the years since. They make a TON more here in Denver per hour. I believe it is around $17-$19 per hour on top of the tip entitlement they feel, even for mediocre service. I know some people only think about the short game. How much can I get from people asap, right now. But, think of the long game. As restaurants and owners continue add all kinds of different fees whether it be cost of living or historical charges or whatever you want to call it -- on top of that the baseline for gratuity expectations continues to go up from what once was 15% ... to 18% to 20% to 25% I am seeing at times. The people dining out are also trying to make a living. If establishments continue to make going out cost-prohibitive, what do they think this does to the long game? It makes going out unaffordable and something people will do less and less. I see lots of empty seats sometimes. And for Pete's sake, let people decide how much they want to add for gratuity. Add a "suggested" line, but don't auto-add it for every single check. "Suggested" precalcuated gratuity line items should be BEFORE tax/fees, technically there shouldn't be a tip added on top of gov't tax. Which I notice is done incorrectly a lot, as well. Calculate it yourself! Can't trust establishments to do it right anymore. This is wrong, and people know it.

This wide-angle shot makes the place look bigger than it is.

If you love listening to Jazz in an intimate setting, Dazzle is the place to visit. Located at the corner of Arapahoe and 14th street, it is a great venue for enjoying live music. PARKING Parking the car is convenient because there is a multi-level Public Parking garage connected to the Art Center where Dazzle is located. The entrance to Dazzle is just steps from the corner of 14th and Arapahoe, as is the entrance to the parking garage. I also noticed a stairway at the corner of the parking garage that leads from the corner of Arapahoe and 14th up to the first level of the parking garage. RESERVATIONS REQUIRED Unless you are going to stop in on a Friday or Saturday between 10PM and midnight to listen to a performer in their smaller lounge next to the bar, you'll have to reserve a seat before entering Dazzle. You can not walk off the street and buy a ticket at the door for the scheduled entertainers. SEATING Every seat in the main listening area has a view of the slightly raised stage. It's doesn't show it on the seating when you're reserving tickets, but the second and third row of seating are raised like bleachers so you don't have to look through someone to see the performances. The second and third rows (B and C) are cushioned bench seats. The nose-bleed seating, row C is at most 25 feet from the performers. :-) The first row of seats (row A) are chairs with a small table between them. This table is just big enough for two elbows and two drinks. If you order food, they bring over another small table to put your food on. There are seats right in front of the stage. If you spill your drink it will probably wet the shoes of the performers. The seating on the sides of the stage are also chairs with small tables for your elbow and a drink. If you don't care to see the band and you just want to listen to the music, you can sit at the tables located in the bar or lounge area. The sound of the band carries, so you can clearly hear it from wherever you are sitting. Either way, if there is a scheduled performer, you have to stop at the entrance and wait for the person at the door to check your reservation and take you to your seat. LISTENING, NOT BACKGROUND MUSIC One thing I've noticed in most music venues around Denver is that the audience talks while the musicians play. Not at Dazzle. Once they start playing, you get an uninterrupted listening experience. It's like watching a stage play. DRINKS & FOOD This is a place you come for the music. Drinks and food are nice, but not the main draw of this place. Dazzle requires each attendee to order two food or beverage items during the show. I saw the menu and I saw plates of food being served. The selection looked varied, the food looked good, and the portions generous, but I didn't try any because we had just come from dinner. We had two glasses of wine and two Cokes. Our bill was $44. Supposedly that included tax and an upcharge so all wait staff get paid better. I'm fine with that. Just letting you know. BAR / LOUNGE Dazzle has a bar and lounge if you head left, instead of right, when you enter the place. They said on Friday and Saturday nights (10pm to midnight) they are going to have a performer in the lounge. There is no cover charge for that. All in all it is a convenient, pleasant place to enjoy two hours of Jazz in a modern setting.

Such a cool jazz club! If you love music at all, visit while in Denver!! I had been to Dazzle once before, but I am not a Denver local and the last time I was there it was at a different locations a block or so from its current location. The new location is convenient to the Larimer area and was a pleasant venue. I stopped in to see a jazz show one evening while I was in Denver for work. The show itself was sold out - but the staff was happy to let me come in to sit in the bar area to easy the show and grab a.beverage. To be honest, that was probably even better than sitting int eh main audience area. If was off to the side, but the view was still pretty good. While there I ordered a Coffee Martini and a Prime Rib sandwich - both were delicious. The bartender/serve was friendly and attentive. I will definitely continue making a habit of checking out shows at Dazzle each time I am in Denver.

Great jazz club in Denver right by the performing arts center. Service was very attentive. We got the espresso bourbon float for two. Creamy drink with a nice orange flavor. The music was nice and I loved the atmosphere. There was no cover charge on Saturday night, I think there usually might be? We sat at the bar seating since the seats by the stage have paid ticketed seating. Really enjoyed our night here. Highly recommend!

Really lovely & intimate venue. Dazzle books an amazing variety of musicians and usually at affordable prices. Limited food menu and full bar; patrons are encouraged to order two items, minimum.

    Ready for the concert.

After reading other reviews and checking out photos beforehand, I knew the Colorado lamb was a must-order. It's not something I usually go for, but it ended up being my favorite dish of the night. Absolutely worth the hype. We also ordered the birria short rib and hickory smoked picanha, and both were solid choices. The shrimp and corn grits were amazing, and I really loved the aged cheddar mac and cheese. Other dishes like the chickpea croquettes and the chili relleno were also pretty good and rounded out the meal nicely. The wait staff was fantastic. Super friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. The restaurant itself has a cool, lively vibe. The only minor downside was that the outdoor heaters were a bit too hot, but that's a very small nitpick. Overall, an easy 5 out of 5 stars. The building itself is beautiful so there is a star for that and the cowboy art on the wall. We ordered some whiskey drinks that did not dissapoint. The Peacemaker is very booz forward, while the Big Blue Bear is milder. Our service was nice and quick. We decided to start with an app of Artichoke dip. It came out in a skillet, but was not very hot. The cheese on top was not melted and I had to use a knife and fork to cut it up rather than dip bread in it. It was tasty all the same but would have been much better and more enjoyable had it been thorougly cooked. This put us off a bit, so we opted to skip the entree and go straight for dessert. The Burbon Peach Crumble is also served in a skillet, and - you guessed it - also lukewarm. It made for a very dense hard to spoon out experience. If it had been hot like one would expect in a skillet, I believe it would have been better. The photos on their website look really great and the two dishes I mentioned look like they are cooked much better than what we recevied. Maybe we just had an off night, I am not sure. I am uncertain if we are up for trying again....

From being welcomed at the front door and led through the garden to the elegant but homey entrance, we felt genuinely welcomed. The open kitchen was staffed with relaxed but focused and happy appearing professionals. They all made eye contact with us and greeted us in to the contemporary dining room. The seating was comfortable and in spite of an open kitchen, the staff was quiet and professional. The attentive servers were extremely informative of all the dishes and beverages. We were fortunate to meet and be served by the GM who clearly has a passion for creating a full-circle dining experience. We learned where the ingredients were sourced and grown and nuances of preparations down to the smallest of the honey butter served with mouth-watering sourdough bread. I highly recommend reserving the special outdoor cabanas with fireplaces to enhance the experience. This will be a favorite place of mine while visiting Denver.

We didn't take advantage of the patio vibes or rooftop deck with a fire pit, but this is still on our list! While waiting for a table, we cozied up to the bar and ordered drinks. One of the bartenders noticed I ordered the hibiscus margarita and asked me, offhandedly, if I was a fan of spice. Yes, please. With that, he cancelled my order and made me something "not on the menu" but what I called the "Patrick special." So good. Thanks, sir! We ordered burgers and shared their buffalo cauliflower starter. This, my friend, was absolutely amazing. Loved the buffalo spice paired with the bleu cheese. Easy way to enjoy some veggies. And along the same theme, I ordered the Buff and Bleu burger. This was so good, so flavorful and so messy. Don't judge me, but I resorted to using my fork, lol! It was so well balanced. Will have again. Parking here means street parking, but there were plenty of open spots on a Saturday night. The walk was nice. We can't wait to return, maybe on a game day, or maybe to enjoy Sunday brunch on the rooftop. Maybe a sunset for another date night. With this level of yumminess, the possibilities are endless.

Great location, relaxed vibes, especially on a Sunday evening. The beer was solid, but the food stole the show (mostly across the board). Most of our group was happy with their dishes. I had the steak sandwich with a side salad, and the sandwich was top tier. I'm a sucker for a good sandwich, and this one absolutely hit the spot. It was also pretty large, which made it more of a fork-and-knife situation than a handheld one, but no complaints there. A few people in our party upgraded their sides to the sweet potato fries, which were next level. Perfect balance of crispiness with a hint of sweetness that made them stand out. One miss in the group was the mac and cheese; my sister ordered it and wasn't a fan, felt it was too liquidy/runny and underwhelming compared to everything else we tried. Only minor knock overall was that the kitchen was pretty slow, especially considering it wasn't very busy late on a Sunday evening. Not a dealbreaker, but something worth noting if you're in a hurry. Overall, great first Denver meal; good beer, mostly good food, and a relaxed spot that made for a solid welcome to the city.

The food, the service - I couldn't have asked for a better experience after a prior evening letdown. I'm not a chicken lover but the chicken salad sandwich was phenomenal. It was well balanced and the focaccia delic. My absolute favorite were the donuts, I could swim in that compote. Every dish was spot on and I'd absolutely return. The server gave us a lot of info like telling us which food dishes were James beard award winning. The breads were yummy but very small and the server came around to distribute it to us individually. We tried the fresh bacon first -- it's basically a piece of pork belly in a garbanzo bean mush with butter / oil around it. I liked the bean mush the most, it added a lot of flavor to the pork. The pork is actually pretty similar to a piece of Kalua pork, we were eating with some Hawaiians and they thought it was just like kalua pork minus rice. I ordered the artichoke tortellini but it was extemely rich and I was a bit shocked by how creamy it was. Served with small pieces of artichoke hearts and some cheese. I found it was best if you ate it with a bit of the broth as it adds a lot of flavor that balances the super creamy tortellini. I loved the dessert-- it's basically a chocolate cake with raspberry sauce. Some of my table mates ordered the peas and carrots dessert and it looked really interesting kind of like a salad. I took off a star because they seemed to keep clearing only half the table and taking away our silverware without giving more. We found ourselves short of utensils a few times! There could also be more clear signage about where the bathroom is.
