There were closer shops however, in speaking with them, though they told us that they could diagnose and repair our Cummins 400 ISL, we didn't feel comfortable after extensive conversations with them. One shop was certain that our main injection pump had failed and quoted us $7,000.00. Another shop quote us $9,000.00 for a mobile mechanic to come and replace the injection pump which they felt was also the cause. Another mechanic came out and after inspecting the engine claimed that we had a stuck injector. We called another mechanic and explained in detail the symptoms, he was certain that we had water in the fuel. With all of the conflicting diagnoses and quotes from $500 - $9,000.00, we felt that we needed to cut through all of the guessing and shops trying to take advantage of our situation. We called Arcata Cummins Sales and Service and spoke with Joe several times. Joe was very reassuring that they could diagnose and repair our engine. After speaking with Joe, we decided to risk the four hour tow with it's associated potential damage to our motorhome in order to have an actual Cummins service shop work on our engine. Arcata Cummins has two electrical hookups for RV's to help make life a bit easier. Arriving Saturday evening, we hooked up and awaited Monday morning. At 8:00 AM, Monday morning Paul knocked on our door ready to get to work diagnosing our engine issues. Within an hour, he had determined that our ECM had failed and that they could have a new one delivered the following morning and installed that same day. True to his word, Paul had the new ECM and had it installed by noon on Tuesday. We took the motorhome out for a test drive and put her through her paces to insure that she was running properly which, she was. In summation, we are so grateful to Paul and Joe for making our plight a priority and giving us the VIP treatment in order to get us back on the road. We highly recommend this facility and wouldn't hesitate coming back to have them work on our motorhome. We are indebted to Paul for his patience in explaining what he was doing and his knowledge and conscientious expertise in repairing our engine. Thank you Paul and Joe.

My old 1968 electrical panel had some connectors that had been damaged over the years and there was no room for adding additional circuits. I had sent pictures of my old panel / service and a few days later Chris came out and took a look at it in person. Soon after, I was given the written quote. I felt it was a fair price, I signed the quote, and he came out and did the work less than two weeks later. He did an extremely neat / clean installation. He went above and beyond to ensure that all of the existing wiring was up to code. In a few cases he pulled new romex to replace some sections of cable that did not have a ground wire. The work looked professional and he even caulked around the box to be sure everything was water-tight. He coordinated well with the city inspector and PG&E because of the working relationships he has developed over the years.

She was honest and so caring with every detail in every conversation I had with her! When we went into pick it up, we were welcomed with open arms! It was like family!
