Finally! I have a stylist in Cincinnati! It has been more than a decade since I've had a stylist…read morefor a multitude of reasons, and I'd honestly given up, but I FOUND HER! Aniya has a quaint little suite in the Nobel building just across from Mcklenburg Gardens, which is close to UC's central campus. Truth be told, I'd tried another stylist in the same building and was less than impressed for the same reasons I've never been able to find a stylist in the past: I was on time but she had another person in the chair and had to start 30 minutes late; I had to have my hair already washed and blow dried, all she did was corn-row me, and she charged me $100! She was nice enough, but nobody is going to consistently pay you to take advantage of them. Thankfully, there were other stylists in the building I could try out, and I'm glad I did! Aniya over in Suite 1 is serving up JUST the right services at just the right pace and prices. She's been READY for me when I show up, I've had an amazing shampoo experience on the bowl, she detangles like a pro (no pulling or snags!), and my cornrows stay in place for a month solid. Best of all, she only charged me $50! Now that's a stylist I can get and stay behind. I'm looking forward to trying her silk presses and other services. They're all reasonably priced, and she's a delight to work with: professional, kind, talented, and not trying to make you pay all her bills while having you do half the work. Go check her out!

In April, I made plans to visit Cincinnati and started looking for a place to get my hair…read morehighlighted and cut. I found Parlour online, and the reviews were great for all of their stylists. I booked with Caitlin V bc she specializes in blondes. Caitlin lived up to her reviews and then some! She took the time to talk to me about what I wanted and she more than delivered. Not only is she talented, she is kind, funny, and really interesting to talk to. I was in need of a 'pick me up' w/my hair and I got it! I am 66 and have had my hair cut and colored all over the world, and I have to say Caitlin is one of the best. Wish I lived in Cincinnati, I'd be a regular! The salon is peaceful and trendy, without being intimidating. The salon manager, Jack communicated clearly with me by email, and was so helpful when I was making my appointment. They were also prompt in responding to my questions, which can be a rarity these days. The front desk staff was so welcoming and made me feel like a long time cherished customer. They gave me recommendations on restaurants and places to visit in the area (shout out Victoria!), as it was my first time to Cincinnati. I could go on and on about what a great experience I had at Parlour. If you are looking for a salon or stylist, give Parlour a try! Absolutely thrilled with the whole experience! And, I am picky! Everything exceeded my expectations, especially Caitlin!

Rude conversation from Haley, who openly judged what I was asking for, and used around 4 bowls of bleach on my head. She also talked to me about what DILDO her boyfriend bought for her. It's taken me a long time to leave this review because I spent so long feeling guilty about what it…read morewould take to leave an honest review. I went here some time ago to have a wig cut. Nothing fancy, just needed the bangs thinned out and a tiny bit snipped that overhung on my ear. I had an appointment, went in, and as soon as the stylist picked up the scissors I wanted to bolt. The older lady there has hands that shake badly. Enough so that every time she got close to my ears or my eyes I held my breath and tried not to move. She was nice enough, asking questions and trying to be polite, but I was unable to relax in that short amount of time because I was terrified of being poked. The worst part was the time and price. It took her all of five, maybe seven minutes to thin the bangs and shape up the sides, and had the audacity to charge me $50. $50 for shaky hands and 5 minutes worth of work? I can't go back, and I can't recommend that you do, either.
