This is solely based on service as my windows were only tinted 6 days ago. I created a project for quotes on Yelp asking for ceramic tint on a 2023 Honda HR-V. Daylight Tint is close to home & quoted the lowest price for LLumar (owner Pedro stated he does not use 3M because of haziness). I asked for availability on Friday & he stated 12PM was the earliest via Yelp. Come Friday, I attempted to call the shop at 9:30AM to confirm the appointment - no answer. I called again at 12PM & reached him. He was confused & said my appointment was scheduled for 9AM. I politely corrected him & told him per the message on Yelp, he stated 12PM. He eventually agreed. I arrived to the shop 5 minutes later & had the same conversation. He's not a man of many words (as other reviewers mention) so checking in and completing the intake form took less than 5 minutes. I added the windshield strip for an additional $50 and was told it would be ready in 2 hours. I got the text that my car was ready less than 2 hours later. Came with my boyfriend an hour after & paid via Zelle. I confirmed not to put my windows down for 48 hours & left happy. I waited an additional day (72 hours total) to put my windows down & immediately noticed strange changes with the front windows. When the auto down or up feature is pressed, the entire door panel moves in or out about 1/2 an inch - instantly noticeable. And then, if I leave the window open at any length & close the door shut as one normally would, the window sounds loose & rattles. So that was another alarming difference. I knew that meant the window must be misaligned somehow so I pinched the top of the window & was able to easily wiggle it. I checked the rest of the windows and noticed the same problem. I immediately text Pedro who agreed to check them out & scheduled to take my car in a few days later (originally the next Friday but I rescheduled for Thursday, 6 days from original install). Well today came & I went to the shop. I waited 6 literal minutes in the lobby before I had to literally call him to meet me. That was upsetting because not only does the front door have a greeting sound, I also waited at the counter as he worked on a car outside of the huge window right beside the counter & still didn't acknowledge me. He was working on the driver's side of a car, then went to the passenger's side, then came back to the driver's side AGAIN & still didn't come to the lobby. So I called his cell as he stood there & let him know I was there. He followed me out to my car & checked the windows himself, acknowledging something was wrong. I was told to leave my car for 2 hours. I didn't hear anything after 2 hours so I assumed it was getting serviced & wasn't done yet so I waited 4 hours total to follow-up via text. I asked if he was able to fix the windows & he responded with, "No sorry, definitely this problem is not from the job we did." My jaw dropped. Don't you think if there was a concern with the windows before the tint application that an ethical and trustworthy business owner would think it's worth mentioning before touching the car? Yeah, ditto. We continued going back & forth where essentially he gaslit me telling me it was a dealer issue, along with a screenshot of a random Reddit post about rattling windows. I retorted back & said I didn't appreciate him trying to make me believe my car had an issue before he serviced it & I found it unprofessional, reminding him my car is new, was never tinted, & had no issues with the windows before I brought it here. His response was "I'm only trying to tell you this is not from getting your windows tinted," & "I'll show you when you get here." I didn't respond to that as I was understandably upset. I despise dealing with anything auto alone but tint is pretty straightforward & always was for me. So I had my boyfriend pick up my car & discuss the concerns instead & Pedro showed him the process for the tint application & repeated that the process does not involve removing the door panels. He kept making it about their process & didn't understand it doesn't matter how the tint was applied. The issue was the obvious issues created after the tint was applied. And I've had multiple new cars tinted before (elsewhere), the last being in 2021, & never experienced this issue (or gaslighting). Did I mention my car is new with less than 2K miles on it? And it was not a factory or "dealership" issue because I would have noticed these issues beforehand & had it addressed immediately? He shut that down. The 2 stars I gave is because the shop is clean & well-maintained and because he agreed to cover the dealership cost to fix the mishandling or damage he's in denial about. I plan on scheduling that ASAP & was sure to obtain proof of that agreement via text. Moral of the story: Save yourself the headache and spend more money elsewhere. read more

I had just gotten a brand new 2020 Toyota Corolla Hybrid for work. And since I do a lot of driving and spend a lot of time in the car, as well as carry around a lot of medical supplies in the car (needles, tubes, gauze, etc.) and food and water in the car, I didnt want random people looking into my car. Especially since I do a lot of work in some pretty unsavory neighborhoods. With this entire Covid-19 pandemic, it was nice to have a service where they come to your house and apply the tint, and it all gets done without me leaving my house, or getting out of my pajamas for that matter. I contacted several mobile tint companies, and this company was the first one to answer back. And for the price, compared to the other places, was actually a lot cheaper. For example I had the nano ceramic film (which blocks 99% UV, or so they say) installed, and it was about $250 cash, the other place wanted about $330 for the same thing, which is crazy. There was a lot of communication via text message as to when he would come and why ceramic was better than traditional tint, and warrenties and time and all that good stuff. So we settled for 10am the following day. When the day actually came, and I was waiting since 900am, by 1015am he still wasent there, no text, no call, nothing. So I texted him. He said he was cutting the material and would be here by 1045. 11am comes and he finally shows up. For all that communication by text, he only maybe said 3 sentences to me the entire time he was there installing it in my garage. Maybe it was the covid-19, and social distancing and all, but dude he was very quiet and to himself. Took him about 2 hours which is what he said. So I paid the man and he left. So as I was looking through my car, there were 2 rolls of I dont know what, lying on my pasenger seat. I thought it was the roll that was from the ceramic film, I was about to throw them away, and you see him come back and it turns out it was part of the window mechanism that he forgot to put back in. Great thing he remembered, eventually. He also left his scissors and other sharp objects on the top of my car, which could've possibly punctured my tires if they had fallen to the ground and I ran them over, which could've been disastrous. Also as it was a sunny day, sitting inside the car with the light blue sky and puffy white clouds. Each window is stamped with the 3M logo. Its small, but on a clear, sunny day like it always is in Southern California, its a nuisance. Like I've had over 6 other cars tinted before from different places, and I've never seen the manufacturer logo on the tint ever. It's just weird and unneccessary. Overall though the tint looks really good. I got dark up front and limo black in the back and it looks great. No bubbling, no peeling, which is expected for $250. So its a great product, and I'm happy for the most part with how it looks, but the customer service could've definitely been a lot better, the professionality of putting everything back without having to come back to do stuff, and making sure you got all your stuff before leaving, and that weird 3M logo on all the windows was just not something I liked or expected. But it looks great, and that's why it's not a 3 star review. read more
