I really enjoyed their sour cream donut and the chocolate covered custard filled donut. I wish I could've gotten an apple fritter because my husband loves those. Apple fritters were all gone by 11 AM. Go early for the best selection, and be prepared to make a compromise on what you might want! A very disappointing visit as we had heard good things. The selection of donuts was mostly picked over, we got a dozen. We each tasted a donut hole that was mediocre. The drink cooler was not very cold so drinks were not enjoyable. They told us they were out of French Toast after we ordered and paid. We switched to grilled cheese which they said was more expensive. When we got to our table we realized that the grilled cheese was $5.80 less than the French toast so after a little debate my wife went up to the counter and explained it and the guy offered her some of the last of the donuts, my wife said no thanks and the guy gave her a five dollar bill. The grilled cheese was not good. My breakfast sandwich was warm and not too bad. It had bacon with a maple taste. The biscuit was fresh but not sure it was made on site. The total bill for the sandwiches, no sides, and a dozen donuts was about $50, $45, counting the $5 back. It felt about $20 overpriced for what we got. The cashier was unfriendly and aloof from the beginning. Maybe he was having a bad day. We were the only customers at about 12:30 on a Saturday. read more

I ordered thru Grubhub. Falafel wrap for me and chicken combo for the guy. Both entrees were mediocre and that's putting it nicely. Falafel was hard. Cookies were stale. Will not be ordering again. Plus they didn't have soup available and I swapped it for a drink. At least the prepackaged drink was fine. read more

This was the first time I've tried Citadel and we ordered through Door Dash. We ordered breakfast burritos, donuts and iced coffee drinks. The burritos looked nothing like what was shown in Door Dash - my husband and I both ordered breakfast burritos. Pros: the burritos were HUGE, Cons: the only things in them were scrambled eggs and sausage, despite what was shown in the pictures and that I'd indicated we wanted bell peppers, onions, and mushrooms on the order form - we ended up adding packets of Taco Bell sauce and salsa we had at home to up the flavor. We also ordered cold brew coffee and an iced cinnamon latte with almond milk. They were both ok, nothing special, but not bad. The donuts came in a daylight donuts box, making me think they were from DD not the Citadel, if I'd known that I would have just gone to DD. In addition, My 2 kids really wanted sprinkle donuts and they only had 1 regular donut with sprinkles in stock, so they upgraded the other regular donut to a premium long john with sprinkles. I appreciate the substitute since it saved us from an argument over who gets sprinkles. In addition to the sprinkle issue we also requested 2 apple fritters and again had to accept a substitute (of a cinnamon roll donut). Not a huge deal for the sub, the roll was tasty, but it seemed strange to me that they would be out of so many standard items at 9am on a Sunday morning. Overall I'm not very impressed by this restaurant. If my choice was this restaurant or nothing it wouldn't be a terrible choice, but I wouldn't seek out this restaurant for breakfast in the future. read more

First off, I only just dropped in because I was looking for a quick breakfast bite after getting my oil changed, and boy, was I pleasantly surprised. Their beef schwarma was a blast on many levels: the beef was cooked well, but it was not dry or tough, and the tangy sauce paired well with the cucumber and lettuce. Also, I recommend finishing it off with the bakaba; the honey-soaked filo dough is so delicate it just melts in your mouth. All the while, service was as nice and friendly as it could get. Yum! Too bad this wasn't around when I was frequenting the BMV next door. A quick coffee or donut (or Turkish delight - wow they looked good) for standing in line would be wonderful! Love the vibe of the cafe. It's clean and there are a lot of options at an affordable price. I got a buckeye latte and I know the same drink costs over $5 at my local coffee shop. Best shawarma I've had in the Columbus area thus far!. I had the chicken shawarma and it was freshly made with a good sauce and note soggy at all which is a problem in most other shawarmas I've tried in the past. I've been to this care before but took my mother for the first time and she loved it (she's a picky eater). Their coffee game is really high and tough to beat; and the Turkish delights always fresh. Nice place with kind people who run the establishment worth checking out. read more

I have been meaning to try this place for a long time so I decided to stop by on my day off with an empty stomach and open mind. The people here are so very kind and generous. I was excited to try Turkish coffee since a friend of mine had made me some in the past and it is not easy to find authentic coffee. I tried their Turkish coffee and I found out I don't particularly like it made with cardamom... I was going to leave without saying anything about my dislike of this particular spice but the gentleman working noticed it didn't drink it and insisted I try another coffee on the house. I instead tried the baklava latte which was AMAZING! I plan to come here more often and even try some food as well. So happy I stopped in. read more

We visited this cafe a few days ago as it was one of the stops on Hilliard's Ice Cream trail. This was one of six stops and unfortunately it was ranked last on our list. The Cafe had six flavors to choose from and we were also given the option to use the ice cream in a milk shake. I was a little concerned given the amount of ice build-up in the Ice Cream cabinet as it led me to believe the ice cream was old and sadly that turned out to be case. Our group ordered four different flavors and three of them had freezer burn. As the employee was scooping ice cream into our dishes, I noticed several flavors were close to being gone, so I believe the freezer burn taste was due to that. The employees were nice and were helpful with our questions, but since we came for ice cream and got a sub-par product, we were disappointed. I would like to come back though and try some of their food, especially because other reviews rank this location very well. read more

Incredibly friendly service and a wonderful atmosphere! The gentleman at the register was incredibly kind and attentive. The cold brew is just right -- not acidic at all and smooth. There is a very nice selection of baklava and other items in their coolers in the front. After a pleasant experience at the BMV next door, this was a fantastic find as I waited for my Uber! This was my second time stopping in for a quick coffee. The selection of baklava is wonderful. I've tried several different kinds and they were each fantastic. The two coffee drinks I've tried are "ok". Recently, I tried the buckeye coffee which left a lot to be desired. They literally scooped peanut butter (generic Aldi brand) into the coffee. It wasn't blended well, whatsoever. I actually ended up throwing it away. My other issue is both times, I was the only customer in the shop and service still took over 10 minutes for a basic drink. The Hilliard location is painted beautifully inside. That is why they get T one star. The "kabob" we ordered was similar to having a microwaved hot pocket. We should have known when we walked in and there were no other customers and no yummy smells from behind the counter. I am not sure if I was there on an off day or what. The food was simply terrible. The overpriced salad was made with iceberg lettuce and had refrigerated and tasteless tomatoes. The man taking my order offered thousand island, mayonnaise or mustard for my dressing and at that maybe gave me a tablespoon. It was inedible. My son ordered the chicken schwarma which was bland. The chicken noodle soup was a glorified Campbells soup with hunks of fatty chicken. This lunch was a total waste of $28. Never again! read more

This was such an uncomfortable experience. I had dropped my son off at the BMV and decided to come here for coffee while I waited. There was no one at the counter upon entering, matter of fact, there was no one in the place to begin with. After a few minutes someone came from the back and "assisted" me. I only wanted a black coffee but they kept pushing a $20 platter of baklava on me. When I declined the 4th time, I finally got my coffee. It was cold and watered down. I paid $4 for nothing.
