Very good donuts. I work closer to the daylight donuts in Murray, so I usually go there first but I was close by and saw there was one here in Sandy as well. Their chocolate old fashioned was very tasty and had a nice thickness to it that wasn't too dense. Their cinnamon rolls and fritters were outstanding. I had a white cake with toasted coconut and that was very delicious too. Daylight has fast become a favorite donut shop for me. read more

Best cake donuts I've had! Bad thing is they only make a certain amount so the good stuff runs out early and when the donuts are gone they close up shop for the day. They make less during the week than on weekends. My faves are the lemon and orange cake donuts but they run out early! You'd expect a fresh tasting donut on a Saturday morning but ours didn't taste fresh or good. If you like grocery store donuts you'll have no problem with these and their unpleasant aftertaste. I have since been every Saturday for the last month and experienced nothing short of fresh delicious donuts. Their apple fritter is one of the best around. The next place us the one on state street and 2700 south, and THEN... If you want a raised donut banbury. This is the best donut in the state and they try to keep it traditional. Not worth the time, I am from california where there is a donut shop on every corner, and everyone says this place is great ... beg to differ. First they charge to much for small average donuts. Plus they make a very limited amount of each kind (been there at opening and late morning) so you are stuck between getting the donut you want and what is great. The previous customer's comment about a disheveled dirty looking server were spot on. However, I assume that is the norm, we just don't see it usually. So in my quest for great donuts, I persevered through this unappetizing welcome and tried the Old Fashioned. As a donut lover, I figure this is a good way to gage a shop. It had that great sour cream flavor that is often missing from old fashioned donuts, but it was too dry and left a fairly stale aftertaste. These are you typical fresh made donuts (which is a good thing), because who doesn't love donuts. Pretty standard donuts that are quite good, however there is very little variety of flavors and types. Also, a big plus as it is located next to a beans and brew to enjoy with coffee. read more

The service was far from good, and the guy seemed to be put out at the fact we couldn't make up our mind due to the lack of variety. Dave, the owner, truly cares for his customers and the bakers truly care about each and every donut they make! WOW!! Great Service! I was trying to get a large order for my company and it is always hard to find someone with the inventory. Daylight Donuts goes way above and beyond. The moment I called they got on the phone to talk to all the other stores to see where they could get the inventory. They were able to find all the boxes we needed in Provo and had someone already heading down to the Sandy area so they had them delivered. Amazing service! Fantastic donuts. I would not recommend this place. The donuts tasted like they were at least a day old at best and the service was absolutely terrible. The staff couldn't be bothered to get me a lid for my coffee or a straw for the other drink I ordered and were generally annoyed at having to answer questions that wouldn't arise had the donuts been clearly marked. Let me be clear that this donut shop does not sell crullers, even though a phone call to them before the hour round trip drive said they do. When I walked in and asked about crullers, the very young man pointed to the old fashioned donuts, "Here they are!" I explained that those are old fashioned donuts and not crullers. Before you get to my review, please know that my rating is for the donut quality and not the prices or customer service. We just had a new Daylight Donuts open up in West Valley. I was so excited because we LOVE donuts and have tried many donut shops over the years. I decided to stop in this morning to treat myself and my coworker. The guy working was really friendly and gave me great descriptions when I asked about the different donuts. The prices were reasonable. I took my first bite of the chocolate frosted knot. I did like that it was kind of crispy but chewy, but that's where my donut like ended. I wanted so much to love it and even made myself eat the whole thing, which my mouth and my stomach didn't want to do. There was a really odd "old oil" taste and it left me with a film of grease on the roof of my mouth. Ick. I'm waiting for my coworker to come in but I hope she doesn't ask what I thought before she takes a bite. I may try one more time to make sure it wasn't just me. Maybe. read more

These folks make you feel good coming in. They must train their employees well because they always seem to lift me up with their attitude. I have a lot of experience with some vary basic favorites like the glazed twist, the maple bar and the chocolate old fashion. The dough is soft and flavorful -- not artificial. I'd have to say the same about the chocolate and maple frosting, it tastes more real and does not have that sort of commercial after taste. For some reason something in their recipe really tastes much different and better than what you get at "bakery" counters in grocery stores and even at some other donut shops. I like em'. read more
