Went in for my birthday to get a dozen and use my free birthday promo the latter part of which was refused by the cashier who couldn't understand what I wanted until I said birthday in a very clear questioning tone and her answer was "no " the "HOT" sign was on and every single one of my donuts was cold ( and we were not offered a glazed donut). Poor quality as well the product tastes deeply of grease as tho the ones cooking don't know how to properly cook pastry. Meh and just meh. Years ago when they began to be a national thing, they were good. For the last several 15 years or so, I really have not enjoyed them. And here's the problem I encountered recently... Three times, I tried to order ahead on my phone. No go. I would make my selection and get either to my cart or even ready to pay and it would think and think and give me an "Oops! Something went wrong. Try again later." Three different times. Today, trying to get donuts for my students, I decided to try it online on my computer. Nope. Same thing. "Oops!" So I go to the physical store. I wait in line. Then I'm told "We're down." Huh? "Our system is down." So how long until it is back up? "10 minutes." Brother! Too late, I need to get going to school. I get someone to watch my class while I go back. OK, good. Now they have fresh donuts. Got an apple fritter, custard and creme filled chocolate, maple donuts, raised glazed, chocolate sprinkles. They are all only OK to a little less than OK. Just not going to buy them ever again. It's going to be either Donut Star Cafe, or THE best, Deli Fresh & Donuts in S. SLC. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. Their automated AI ordering system is the complete worse. It never works and the service at the window is terrible. They don't know how to think of the automated system doesn't work. You are forced to get out of the car and go inside because they have completely turned their back against customer service. I'm always tempted by the hot donuts light. Next time I'll just keep driving. It was $15 for six donuts so I told them I'll just take 4 because I thought that was too much. Man, this experience was a mess. I was on the hunt for the Barbie limited edition donuts. I came in on a Saturday and Sunday. Saturday afternoon I come in, and there is a MASSIVE drive thru line, so I go inside. Reader, I waited 30 minutes inside. Both days. The root cause of this is they had one employee who was taking drive through orders, in store orders, AND packaging everything. There was only one person working on Saturday at 1 PM. Yesterday was National Donut day so I went here to get my family donuts. They had a deal where if you bought a dozen donuts you could get a dozen glazed for $2 and that's what I ordered in their drive through. It showed up on the order screen correctly so I thought nothing of it. Man I absolutely love Krispy Kreme donuts but this location really isn't a good one. Places two app orders this past week, the first one I arrived to pick it up and they claimed they couldn't find my order despite me showing them it on the app but luckily they were quickly able to make up a new one so annoying but not a big deal. The next one is the one that really ticked me off I order a dozen of the cookies and crème filled Scooby Doo donuts but when I arrived it was just the assorted Scooby Doo donuts, I stood there waiting 5-7 minutes (at 7:30 am when there's no one even there) before being acknowledged by the Spanish worker. I explained that they were the wrong ones and I just wanted to switch them out please. She proceeded to just argue with me about it and get all pissy. I open the app and show her where it shows I ordered 12 of the filled, not assorted. She yanks the wrong box out of my hand and goes and fills another one and tosses it at the counter at me and walk off. I was pretty pissed, especially when I got home and discovered almost all the ones she gave me were hard and stale and 2 didn't have any crème in them at all. So $22 down the drain and I definitely won't be going back to that location. Absolutely ridiculous and horrendous customer service Updated to 3 stars after talking with the assistant manager Jay who was awesome and apologetic and offered me a free dozen glazed donuts on top of my replacement order. This is not my first rodeo with Krispy Kreme. Unfortunately, I had an unpleasant experience during their Halloween Scooby Doo extravaganza. Had to wait in the lobby for seemingly forever. As they only had one checker. (However, there were lots of their employees standing around doing nothing. But only one checker.) Anyway they seem to keep serving people that were not in the line which was highly annoying. Finally got to the front of the line then another person was served before me. How that happened, I'll never know. Anyway got my order together tried to pay with my gift card, and then they had to switch me to another register, and I had to wait another five minutes for someone else to check me out. Very frustrating experience. Those donuts were OK, but they definitely were not fresh. Then months later, I came back this morning. They supposedly open at 6 AM. At 7:03, the doors were still locked. And drive-through is not answering. I just waited in the drive-through. At 7:08. They finally answered. One hour and eight minutes after they were supposed to. Ridiculous. Got my donuts and came home. Pretty sure they are day old. Not very good. Which is unfortunate! I love Krispy Kreme doughnuts. I've been going here off and on for years. But once my gift card has run out, I see no reason to go out of my way to come back to this location. Very disappointing, as in the past they have been my favorite donut. I ain't mad, as I had a key lime donut a year ago in what turned out to be (unrelated) a very important night. So now that they have the gimmick of all gimmicks going on with their vaccination donuts, I was sucked back in. (If you're the one person who hasn't heard about this, if you show your proof of COVID vaccination, they'll give you a free donut. Once a day. All year.) Again, I ain't mad. I respect the serious marketing skills on display, and I do like their fresh glazed donuts. They weren't as fresh tonight, but unless you see that hot sign glowing, you just sort of go in and roll the dice and take what you get. Even if you don't get a hot one, they're not out there selling day-olds. Is it the very best donut in the world? The state? Nah and nah, but I mean, it's a dependable, wonderful donut. This location is always busy, and as a result, it's not super tidy inside, the drive-thru lane seems to be a little long, and today even the hand sanitizer station at the entrance wasn't working so ya, there are some improvements to be made. Krispy Kreme has the best doughnuts, hands down. The fried dough is always so soft and light, it's like popping a sweetened cloud into your mouth. Though KK has a wide selection of doughnuts, the original glazed is my favorite. I'm glad they now have a location in Sandy so people in SLC don't have to drive to Orem. This KK has only been open for a month, yet their drive-thru line is still as long as ever. I don't like that cars in the drive-thru lane can block off movement in and an entrance to the parking lot. I had been deprived of KK for over a year, so this time I got myself a dozen original glazed yummies. I had some feelings of guilt after eating that box by myself, but ultimately no regrets. These doughnuts stay very nice even a day or two after! If you have time to walk inside the store when the orange-red "HOT NOW" sign is lit up, you can watch fresh doughnuts go through their life cycle. Absolutely mesmerizing. read more

This is one of the worst Krispy Kreme locations ever. I am a glutton for sugary punishment because I still come here when I'm in Utah, but it always disappoints me. First, there is always a huge line at the drive-thru, day or night. Doesn't matter when you go, there will be a giant queue of cars that stretches back into the mall parking lot and blocks traffic. Once you get up to the ordering window, be prepared with several back-up doughnut options because they're always out of just about everything. The doughnuts here usually range from mediocre to nearly inedible. The coffee is the same. On my last visit, I got a small cappuccino and a glazed doughnut. (Side note: I've never, ever seen the "Hot Doughnuts Now" sign lit at this location -- totally weird). My doughnut tasted and looked really sad. It had clearly been fried in super old oil, with a dark brown exterior and a funky, old taste. My coffee was almost oaky and reminded me of chicory coffee that you'll find popular in New Orleans. Maybe it's because it's Utah and they have no clue how to make tasty coffee. Visit this Krispy Kreme at your own risk! I don't feel that this location is worth the calories or the disappointment. read more

Krispy cream donuts are the best, we all know that. But have you tried their coffee. If not, don't bother! It is disgusting. Four of us went in and got the adorable ghostbusters donuts, which did not disappoint. But all four of us also got coffee and we all HATED it. It was bitter and the flavor was awful. Never again will I order a much needed coffee from this amazing donut shop. Sad, because nothing goes better with delicious donuts than coffee. Great doughnuts and quick service. The drive through line was nearing toward the street entrance but the employees moved everyone through the line so quickly I did not mind the wait. The employee who was at the window had gloves on his hands and a smile on his face. They were out of a couple kinds of doughnuts by the time I went at 11:30 AM. It seems as though their donuts are fresh whenever I come here and they always have a good variety still no matter the time or day.
