a variety of doughnuts in a display case
Eddie C.

Great little donut shop right in the heart of Grand Junction . It's very old Timey and has a locally owned flair and attitude. The donuts are definitely made by hand as each donut was a little different and they had a wonderful variety of different types of fun donuts like cherry pie and bacon maple, I wish I was able to bring my kids with me when I traveled and went to fun spots like this because it's not every day you get a unique experience like daylight donuts I give a solid four stars only because of the price it was $32 for 18 donuts while I'm not totally up to speed on the price of donuts I don't think that donuts should cost that much apiece but it is locally owned and up totally worth it. The donuts were delicious and the staff was wonderful and friendly. They have a drive-through, which is a plus and the seating area is probably the largest seating area I've ever seen in a private Leo donut shop.

Time to EAT the donuts!

"Every day may not be good but there's something good in every day with a donut"---that's what the sign says in the shop. It started our day really well! Daylight Donuts (on NORTH Avenue) is the best donut place in town. Their donuts are the perfect blend of not too dense and not too airy. My daughter says they are nicely frosted! My favorite is the Honey Bun...chewy donut with a nice crunch, and not too heavily dressed with drizzles of honey and frosting. There is a great variety of cake donuts, fritters, hand pies, and more. Something for everyone. A handy drive through is available if you're car-bound. They also offer coffee, lattes, milks, and other drinks. Great for kids and adults. It's a bit sterile but spacious and clean. The staff is friendly. Come early though as they start to run out of donuts by mid-morning. A great way to start the day!

I just had one of their breakfast burritos. It was hot, and tasted good. Is was pretty large and filled me up.

You know when you look forward to something and when you get there, they somehow manage to exceed…read moreyour expectations? Well, this place does. And I would attribute that to the team working there. Before you even walk in, you can smell the donuts outside. When you walk in, you are met with a fairly large space to accommodate a small retail area in one corner, games and seating in two other corners, and the counter display in the final corner. We were helped right away by a lady who basically knew what I was going to ask before I did. I appreciated how helpful she was. We ordered 2 donuts (I got one of their cronuts or "square donuts") and 2 breakfast burritos to go. The donuts were excellent - fresh and warm. The cronut was crunchy on the outside and soft inside and the sugar glaze sweetened it up. The breakfast burritos had a variety of ingredients that were nicely balanced. Highly recommend!

Haven't been here since it was still Daylight Donuts. After my granddaughter's graduation from CMU,…read moreI decided to pop in. The combination of a croissant and a donut puzzles me, so I ordered a maple with a bacon strip (which they charge you extra for) and a strawberry cronut. Both were delicious, but the maple would have been better without the bacon strip. I was caught off guard by how messy and crumbly the donuts were. Careful when you eat them in your car as I did. The dirty chai I ordered was hot, but middle of the road as far as taste. The grand total came out to $15, and unfortunately didn't see any kind of pricing anywhere. But then again I didn't have my reading glasses with me. Despite this, the lady at the front counter was super sweet and helpful with all my questions. Will be back again in the future.

The greens added a little kick, the onions perfectly sliced; almost paper thin. The green chiles cut into little morsels add that Smokey bit we crave when we think of fiesta style foods. There were bits of queso fresco crumbled over the whole thing, giving that tang. Even the brown rice was treated with the utmost respect and has the most amazing flavor and hearty texture! Lastly, I'm sure someone back there made that citrus crema from scratch and I basically licked that little ramekin clean! Thank you, thank you! A stop anyone in Junction will not regret!

This used to be one of our favorite local breakfast spots, but it's really gone downhill. Service…read moreis minimalist by design, ambiance and decor are nice but dark & dreary during the winter months due to the lighting. I could mention several criticisms of recent managerial decisions, but I'll just limit it to one. The "American Breakfast" has disappeared, replaced by an a la carte ordering model. I assume this reflects price creep and the reality that the market will not support a $20 counter-service breakfast (especially one that prompts for pre-tipping) when a comparable $12 option is available across the street at a full-service restaurant. Combined with long wait times and lukewarm food, caused by either amateurs in the kitchen or lackadaisical food delivery by the counter-staff, Cafe Sol has regretfully moved to my "occasionally OK" list.
