I honestly didn't think I would enjoy the military latte but it was quite good. the price was high but somehow the mix of everything with espresso and matcha... the taste lingers in my mouth! the ability to get other speciality coffees beansmfrom around the world (DAK, prodigal, etc) is underrated. saves you a trip. ;)

The Drink: Unfortunately, the drink itself was a letdown. The cream topping lacked flavor and felt uninspired. It didn't have the quality I usually expect from a specialty cafe like this. Major Hygiene Issues: The most troubling part was the behavior of the staff member on duty. I watched as the employee repeatedly touched their face and then proceeded to grab salt with their bare hands to sprinkle it onto the drink. Seeing someone handle food directly after touching their skin without washing their hands or using gloves is unacceptable in any food service environment. This location desperately needs a refresher on hygiene and food safety protocols. While the aesthetic of Dayglow is always nice, the lack of cleanliness and the subpar quality of the Taro drink make it hard for me to recommend this spot. I hope management takes this feedback seriously to ensure better standards for future customers.

I'm not going to lie, the trendy pink exterior / decor lured me in but I'm glad it did because the drink I got was so good and gave me the caffeine boost I didn't even know I needed. I got the Totoro which is like take of a black sesame latte with coconut, orange blossom and activated charcoal. The coconut is really what sets it apart for me, so good! I've been on a black sesame latte kick lately and this is the best one that I've had so far! It's definitely on the pricier side with their drinks ranging from $8-$12. But hey, when in a trendy LA neighborhood.

Matcha Einspanner

This iconic pink coffee shop is great for meeting friends but not a great place to bring tech and work due to the limited seating a table space. The Matcha einspanner was not very memorable but was carefully crafted and customisable by the baristas.

By far the BEST Matcha Einspanner in Silver Lake!! The sea salt is a brilliant and unique addition to the Einspanner. I considered getting a second to go! My friend had the Warhol and said it was great as well. Different and well- balanced. Ambience is hipster grudge, and service is great and friendly. Street parking only. We came on a Sunday before going for a walk at the reservoir. No trouble finding street parking and it was not busy in the cafe. It is dog friendly here, with both indoor and outdoor seatings. There is also a good selection of beans on the shelves. Definitely will come back!

Great independent coffee shop. They have a great variety of beans available to purchase. Parking can be challenging. If I happen to be driving by and see a parking, I snag it and head to Dayglow. I love the Warhol. The smaller cortado size hits the spot with notes of creamy orange zestiness. There's good seating indoors and outdoors. If you're not sure what to order, the barista will point you in the right direction. In addition to their milk based drinks, they have a good variety of pour overs as well. With such a high density of coffee shops in the area, Dayglow is definitely at or near the top of the list.

This place was really cute the staff were really friendly and helpful in picking our drinks. The drink I got was delicious and all the drinks the rest of my group got were delicious. We enjoyed stopping by and would come again.

Warhol - had to get 2 for myself

I love dayglow. We tried it in Chicago and were stoked to learn we live within an hour of this location. The Warhol might be my favorite coffee drink ever. I got 2 just for myself bc it's so good. My wife loves the matcha einspanner and she's really picky with matcha. she makes ceremonial grade at home so she's kind of a matcha snob, but dayglow's is good enough for her so that says a lot! I hear this is the original location. Parking is tough. Baristas were friendly and helpful. It was busy on a Saturday morning. We don't like the surrounding vibe - busy street, dirty LA area, but not dayglow's fault. Can we pleaaaaaaase get a location in OC ???

Iced vanilla latte

Dayglow was slammed post lunch as the crowd was rolling out of bed and starting their day. Everything is pink which gives off cute vibes until you hear the hard metal blaring from the speakers which made my day. Service was good and the iced vanilla latte was much better than I expected; it wasn't overly sweet and strong enough to taste the coffee. Their menu is fun and the Warhol 2.0 sounded very good with the condensed coconut. I wish I would've read the details before ordering.

I first tried the Totoro 2 years ago, and it will always be my favorite cafe drink in all of LA. I chose it because of the name, but it's also sooooo good. I'm a huge black sesame fan, but there's something about it that makes it stand out from all others. I'll always shed a tear when I pay but it's worth it. As for the cafe itself, the interior is so cute! There's some seating inside, but the tables are small. Street parking can be difficult depending on the time of day.

Love this little coffee shop. Definitely gives off this trendy, hip, modern feel. They offers coffee beans (their brands as well as others) and I'm overly impressed with the packaging of these beans... I ordered the military matcha and my friend got the Warhol. Both was amazing. Service was great-friendly, pleasant and for informative.

Military Latte

I was in the area with a friend and we were seeking an afternoon pick me up. We both were eager to try Dayglow and had such a great experience! I opted for the Military Latte and it was delish! Made to order and beautifully presented. I loved the flavor. Their location is so cute. I wanted to stay and hangout for a little while. Parking was a bit of a challenge with only street space available but we managed to snag a spot on a Sunday afternoon. I noticed they have bags of coffee beans available for purchase, which is always a good find when making fun coffee drinks at home!

This is such a cute coffee place. Definitely a good place to work remotely it's fairly quiet inside. There's seating outside too but it's a little louder because of the traffic and people walking past. Their pastries are good too. Love their donuts! I've had a few of their drinks but my favorite so far is Fantastic Mr Fox. The servers are always nice and will definitely help with recommendations if you're unsure of what to order.

I heard the studio ghibli menu ended in 2021? Is this true, ive only heard about this place now!!

They change their items and it's always best to call them. This place is great. We were happy when we found it.

How much for a dozen?

It was really interesting that one of the Americanos was made with Ecuador Los 4 Mundos beans, and the other was made with Colombia El Diviso. When a staff member brought over my hot Vanilla Latte, I asked to make sure it was decaf. He took it back just to double-check for me, and then confirmed that it was indeed decaf. The coffee here is all delicious, and the staff are incredibly friendly, which I really liked. However, the chairs were quite uncomfortable to sit in, and the Vanilla Latte was still pretty sweet even though I ordered it "less sweet." Still, the coffee tastes so good and the staff are so incredibly kind, so it's a really great coffee shop. P.S. A funny thing: They had dog treats in a jar. I immediately thought of my boss's absolutely super, incredibly cute dogs, so I asked for an empty cup and packed some treats to bring to the office for them today. But when I finished my coffee and was heading out, I totally forgot and accidentally threw the cup of treats away along with the empty coffee cups. OMG. (But seriously, all dogs and cats always absolutely love me. Hahaha. When I get to work, my boss's dogs come over wagging their tails and greeting me so excitedly--they are just so, so adorable. And as for cats, there's a stray that I've been feeding every single morning on my way to work for over 4-5 years now. She currently lives at the Buddhist temple I attend. Every day when I go, she follows me around everywhere. She absolutely loves it when I scratch her back with a brush, and when I'm done and try to leave, she taps my foot to tell me to scratch more! It's just so totally cute and lovable. It's a completely white cat, and so incredibly pretty.)

When I went to pick it up, I grabbed a saucer to avoid spilling on my way back to my seat. Before I could even walk away, one of the baristas snatched it from my hand and said, "You're not allowed to use that. The saucers go with the latte mugs!" I paused, glanced at the empty café behind me, and replied, "There are plenty available--surely I can use one." He continued, in a dismissive tone, speaking to me in a way that felt unnecessarily disrespectful. I chose to walk away and still enjoy my pour-over. But it's not just about serving good coffee. As Maya Angelou reminds us, people will always remember how you made them feel. And in this space, I felt unwelcome. As a paying customer--one who tipped in advance--that behavior felt undeserved and unwarranted. For that reason, there's no need to return.
