Black Oak Café Review…read more PRICES WAY UP... WORST SERVICE EVER... We had been looking forward to coming to the Black Oak Café for my roommate's birthday, because it WAS one of our favorites. At least the ambience is still nice. IT TOOK A VERY LONG TIME TO ORDER: When the server finally came back to our table to take our order, I asked what vegetables does the Chicken Fried Chicken come with? He didn't know so he went to ask. I am not exaggerating when I say that first he went into the kitchen for a while, then he came back out of the kitchen and just stood there near the kitchen door. I was looking at him, trying to hint that we were waiting. Then he talked to one of the other servers. Then he went BACK into the kitchen to FINALLY ask what vegetables... Then he FINALLY came back to our table to tell us... Broccoli. When my roommate ordered, OUR SERVER FORGOT EVERYTHING HE SAID. He had to repeat it all twice.
