I did some research on yelp and was very impressed with the comments I found about April and Santee Massage. The office complex where April's business Santee Massage is close to the Ramada Inn in Santee. Her office is easy to find, it is the first office on the left (lower level). She shares this location with two talented acupuncture specialists. When you meet April you will find she is very personable and smart. She has over ten years of experience and has gone to school far surpassing time studying massage techniques off many studying this field. She is an expert. Before starting to work on me April asked targeted questions that came from over ten years experience. These questions helped her maximize the time she she spent doing the therapeutic massage. The detail of the questions let me know I was in good experienced hands. Some issues she covered were asking me If I wanted targeted massage specific to my areas in pain verses general massage. The massages was given Small office room one well suited with lights that can be dimmed and aromas to help enhance the therapeutic massage experience. She has a high quality table with a light blanket and sheet below. She even has fans that give a reassuring breeze while she works. Her skill has lead to many returning customers. As she worked on me I could see that her high reviews on Yelp were well deserved. She obviously knows what she is doing. She works with her hands following a guided plan. In her head Her pre-questions now act as a map she uses to move from one area to the next. She worked not only on areas that were causing me pain but also other areas as well. She explained to me how everything when it comes to your body and pain is interrelated. She had special methods she knows like holding up my legs up and folding them towards the main frame of my body relieving tension in my lower back (genius). All her training and knowledge she has gained in those ten years is paying off. From start to end April is very thorough she made sure as she worked that I was ok and not in pain from any of the work she was doing. She adjusted her techniques as needed. From my first appointment I can say April shows a sincere interest in wanting to help. She, because she is good is very busy. You may need a couple of weeks to be able to see her. Post massage: The overall experience was better than expected. I am very happy with the overall results. Yes I am a bit sore, but that is a good thing and to be expected, I think. She makes no promises but is so efficient at what she does that I truly believe she will be successful in helping me over time. Her prices are fair. I plan on seeng her for more sessions until my pain is under control. I fully believe April will using her skills help me feel a lot better. I highly recommend her. She has proven to me that she is very good at what she does.

However, you get over that very quickly as everyone around you is doing the same thing. Hanna was the one who did my body scrub and she is one of the best that I've had. She was super gentle but really got in there and gave me a nice scrub. They have two different areas separated by men and women with a common area that we both share while wearing their provided uniform. They have a privates wet area that is separated by women and men. That's the area where you can shower and enjoy the Jacuzzi or the cold Plunge pool while being completely naked and getting the body scrubs. In the common area, they have a lounge where it's dimly lit calm and peaceful and you can just chill on the sofas. They also have 3 different saunas in the common area. They have light snacks, candy, water, and tea available. But would love to see more fresh fruits. Even though they share a large parking lot with the other businesses around them, it's very hard to find close parking nearby since they only have a few in front of their facility. Highly recommend getting there at least 30 minutes to an hour prior to your massage or body scrub time so that you can enjoy the wet area with the sauna and the Jacuzzis prior to getting your body scrub. We when arrived, we had to wait 10 minutes which wouldn't have been so bad if it weren't for the employees whispering and peaking around the corner at us while we were in the lobby. They put us in a room together which we didn't ask for, like a couples massage, they just assumed. I asked for the masseuse to be more gentle when she started and I'm not sure if she understood me well because she wasn't that gentle. The worst part was the hot stones. They were too hot for the masseuse the handle but they tried to put them on us anyway. We had to have them remove it on our bill because they were too hot to put them on anybody or anything! They even left burn marks on my back. The spa is also covered in dust, the fish tank is disgustingly filthy, and had a musty smell in the rooms. They also refused to give a refund for the horrible service that was provided. The owner and employees will not take responsibility for their actions and inactions (see the owners response below). I have also updated my pictures with timestamps of the burn in question. I still have the mark 2 weeks later and it didn't show up right away, before we left the spa. I am also not from California nor do I live there to have the time to go back. I would never recommend this place.
