Recently spent a leisurely afternoon at this Korean day spa, which is small compared to those in other cities but the largest one in San Diego. The gender-specific wet areas (nekkid-only ;) and co-ed jjimjilbang (spa uniform required) cover the basics well, but the lack of an on-site restaurant is a bummer. There's only a minimal snack bar, but at least it's free! Suggested order of operations: book a body scrub + massage combo so your spa admission is included, arrive minimum 30 minutes ahead of time to utilize the bathhouse, and afterwards hop between the Red Clay, Himalayan Salt, Ice, and Relaxation Rooms for up to 2 additional hours. Your mind, body, and spirit will thank you!

Didn't make a reservation online but did a walk in for a group of 5. Was helped promptly and gave basic information that sent a waiver to our phone to sign. Did the $55 spa entrance and jimjilbang. Got our clothes and went in. Spa was nice. Hot and cold tub and saunas. Jimjilbang was ok. The ice room was closed so there was only two salt rooms, one was too hot for us all. We didn't really use the JJB much. Common area has free snacks - biscotti, mini chocolate, tea/water, pineapple, Chex mix etc. this place doesn't have food options. Overall nice experience but a little small compared to the other ones I've been to.

This Korean spa is affordable for all that you get! They've changed the snacks to more American snacks and the hot tub was broken when I went which was disappointing. However, they gave us a discount since we wouldn't be getting the full experience! The price is $45pp excluding any scrubs and massages. This gives you access to the hot tub, cold plunge, wet and dry saunas, salt room, red light room, cold room, and jimjilbang (common area). No phones allowed in the locker/sauna/hot tub areas but I snagged a photo in the common area!

Love coming here! I come 1-3 times a month Just don't recommend getting a scrub in the last 2 hours of them closing. They will rush your scrub & not do as thorough of a job As long as you know this, this place is great

I've been to a Korean Spa in the past but not specifically this one. This was my first time and I enjoyed my quality time with my mom and sisters. This place is great if you purchase the services because the entry is included! If you're from LA or OC, this does not compare to the Korean Spas from OC/LA , as this one is very small in comparison and does not offer as much in the jjimjilbang (only 1 salt room, 1 clay room, 1 cold room). $50 for entry fee for 3 hours Upon arrival, we made appointments for the body scrub and oil massage to treat my mom and ourselves for my mom's birthday. They give you your 2 towels (1 small for sweating and 1 larger one for showers) along with your uniform in the basket and the wristband with lock to your locker. The common room (both genders) had free various snacks/fruit as well as hot barley tea and lemon water for refreshments, probably to make up for the lack of food court. I'm happy they offered it. The common room also had couches to rest for their guests. Personally, I like to check out the jjimjilbang first and then use the only female hot sauna/steam room and hot tub and then enjoy my service. Some do it the other way around though, just based on preference! I rated it 4 due to cleanliness as there was just a little spots in the bathroom that needed more deep cleaning, other than that they did a great job at cleaning the baskets and trash! I mainly came for the body scrub& oil massage (60mins) which offers a hair wash and collagen facial and cleansing milk. Hanna worked on me and she did amazing!!! They basically flip you over on a massage table like a baby seal and scrub every inch of your body, then they massage you with oil. After the body scrub my body was as soft as a baby's butt HAHA. So smooth and the cleansing milk really rejuvenated my skin and made it feel plump. My facial was so relaxing as well and I love when people play/ wash my hair. I'm pretty used to be nude around my mom and sisters so it's not out of my comfort zone to walk around naked in the female section. I feel like Yu Spa is a great first time Korean spa, for those who want to embrace this relaxing experience. I would definitely recommend coming here, but only for the services as the entry fee is just too expensive to my liking. This place is great to treat a friend or even a family member.

This was my first Korean spa experience so I did not have much to base off on. But l was more-so anxious about being fully nude in the gender separated areas (male/female spa & locker sections) which is their requirement. Staff & front desk was professional, friendly and informative. Any and all questions were answered without judgement which I appreciated a lot considering I was very skeptical and nervous. Cleanliness of the facilities looked standard and nothing felt out of the ordinary. I constantly saw staff clearing out laundry baskets and cleaning the bathrooms probably every 20 mins or so. Locker rooms felt clean as well as showers. The women's hot sauna, jacuzzi and cold plunge felt very clean. Gender neutral areas were upkept well and provided some snacks and few beverage options. Luckily it was not very busy when I went around 3 pm on a weekday. And prices felt very decent and fair. I felt that this was a very good introduction to Korean style spas if you are a first timer and unfamiliar with the traditional way of how they operate.

We when arrived, we had to wait 10 minutes which wouldn't have been so bad if it weren't for the employees whispering and peaking around the corner at us while we were in the lobby. They put us in a room together which we didn't ask for, like a couples massage, they just assumed. I asked for the masseuse to be more gentle when she started and I'm not sure if she understood me well because she wasn't that gentle. The worst part was the hot stones. They were too hot for the masseuse the handle but they tried to put them on us anyway. We had to have them remove it on our bill because they were too hot to put them on anybody or anything! They even left burn marks on my back. The spa is also covered in dust, the fish tank is disgustingly filthy, and had a musty smell in the rooms. They also refused to give a refund for the horrible service that was provided. The owner and employees will not take responsibility for their actions and inactions (see the owners response below). I have also updated my pictures with timestamps of the burn in question. I still have the mark 2 weeks later and it didn't show up right away, before we left the spa. I am also not from California nor do I live there to have the time to go back. I would never recommend this place.

While I appreciate the management's attempt to rectify some issues, the current quality simply does not match the premium price point. My friend and I booked our treatments at specific times online to maximize our time together, only to be told days later that the times were unavailable. In trying to resolve this, I discovered the spa had also changed my friend's appointments without notifying her. It took a 45-minute phone call and multiple follow-ups before a director finally stepped in to provide a day pass and an acoustic vibration meditation session to make amends. While I was grateful for the gesture, the meditation beds were unfortunately quite uncomfortable and didn't live up to the "state-of-the-art" description. For a spa that charges $200+ just for facility access, the upkeep was surprisingly poor. There were used towels strewn about the common areas, overflowing trash in the bathrooms, and when trying to locate an unused locker, myself and the staff member assisting me had to open several before finding a robe. The steam room was barely functioning with minimal to no steam produced. A large group of women in the solarium was incredibly loud (screaming and laughing) for a long period. While I'm glad they were enjoying themselves, multiple staff members walked by and never once stepped in to maintain the quiet, relaxing environment guests expect. While not part of the spa itself, the poolside service was notably slow; my friend waited an hour for her food and had to rush through it before her treatment. We were served without utensils and had to wait several more minutes for a server to return. I have long considered this one of the top two spas in San Diego, but after this experience, the value is no longer there. Management's effort to make it right was appreciated, but a luxury spa shouldn't require that much effort from the guest just to have a basic, clean, and coordinated experience. I'll be enjoying the other local luxury spa options moving forward.

But when a special occasion arose with a group of girlfriends, I resigned myself and just handed over my credit card. Kyoko, the main spa attendant, greeted us warmly and showed us around. She was a friendly and helpful presence throughout our visit. I got the 60 minute relaxation massage, and it was worth every penny. My masseuse, Jasmine, was excellent, from the moment she greeted me to when the message was over and she bid me farewell with a tiny cup of their fresh-squeezed orange elixir and a warm towel. Speaking of towels, so many towels everywhere--all cloth. Nary a paper towel to be seen, even in the bathrooms. Their robes were fluffy and luxurious, and the slide sandals were nice quality, no cheap flip flops here. On our visit there weren't that many other guests (we did get there later in the day), so it felt very tranquil and private. We availed ourselves to the steam room, sauna, and whirlpool before and after our treatments, and hung out in the well-appointed ladies lounge with some of the available snacks: almonds, dried apricots, and housemate oat bars that were really yummy. It was a rare treat for me and I enjoyed every minute! Don't forget to get your valet parking validated before you go.

I will start with my pros, then cons. Pros: 1. Their Froze was delicious and refreshing. A nice treat for a warm day! 2. The landscaping and grounds themselves were really pretty. 3. The massage I had was nice. Was it the best massage I've had? No, but I was relaxed and I can't complain about it overall. Cons: 1. SERVICE AND FRIENDLINESS. From the start, the vibes were just off. The demeanor of pretty much all the staff was prickly, to say the least. We were celebrating my birthday, so my mom brought a small box of five cupcakes for us to celebrate my day. She had called ahead and was told this would be fine. However, she was told they do not allow any outside food and drink despite her calling previously. So, they took them and we had to collect them when we left. Fine, no big deal if that's their policy. They should make sure everyone is aligned on that fact though. Then, we asked if it would be possible to shift an umbrella so all of us could have some shade (it was sunny and hot and we are fair skinned). We were told we are absolutely not allowed to move any umbrellas or chairs whatsoever. Again, we are paying close to 1,000 for our day and we can't even shift an umbrella to make everyone comfortable? Wild! Overall there were several small instances of this nature where the staff wasn't very accommodating or friendly. 2. Facilities. WAY too small for the amount of people they book for services. The locker room is incredibly tiny and not large enough for everyone to comfortably change. There are only two women's bathrooms and they are located in the spa locker room. Not close to the pool and there were lines for the bathrooms at multiple times. Overall some of the facilities were a bit run down and cramped. In my opinion, if you're considering a spa day, go to Rancho Valencia. You'll get your money's worth there. Friendlier staff, nicer facilities, better food, and an overall better experience. Will not be booking again at RB Inn.

There have been some improvements from 10 years ago yet still kept its nice Italian feeling vibe. The only negatives were: 1) That some of the umbrellas over the cushioned seating by the pool wouldn't lower so even if you had an umbrella over your head it didn't lower enough to actually give you shade. 2) My massage ended up being 20 plus minutes late and then also was less than a 50 minute message. My therapist ended the massage abruptly and said our time was up. It didn't feel like 50 minutes so I checked my phone when I got up. It was more like 40 minutes at most and I knew because I had sent a text to someone when I was in the waiting room 45 minutes before and I hadn't been called back yet. When I asked the therapist if it was a full 50 minute she said yes. Yet the Spa made it right and gave me 20% off for the confusion as their computer system was not working, the delay and for the shortened message. Besides all that, my massage was very nice so they can keep their 5 stars. Parking is free but there is a little walk. Lunch was delicious. We both had hamburgers with a blueberry lemonade. Very nice spa overall.
