We also wanted 2 rugs cleaned for free that we bought from them 3 years ago. A few days later, Ogi the owner came to the house to pick up our rugs. He returned days later with rugs for us to choose from. They laid the rugs on our garage floor and I was rejecting majority of them. Too masculine. I wanted to return to their shop and choose again. Ogi said you can get more confused looking at hundreds of rugs in the store plus they can look different at the store compared to your home. After more than 10 rejects, he took one rug made of silk and cotton which caught my eye. He asked me to step on it with my bare feet and it felt so soft. They brought it to our room and you can see how the colors changed because of the Iight. I was sold on this rug so after negotiations, an agreement was finally met. He offered to clean it first and deliver it in a week. Hakkan previously gave us a small rug to take home to test out for our front door. It was a bit thin so we had Ogi take it back. When he delivered our new rug weeks later, he gave us a better rug for our door which he got from his Berkeley store and it was perfect. He gave it to us for free. He repeatedly pointed out that the carpets I was considering were "cheap," and when he mentioned another one was around $4,000, it came with a "well, that's expensive -- what's your budget?" tone rather than an attempt to genuinely guide me. I went in because I'm not an expert and wanted knowledgeable advice, but I left feeling unwelcome and talked down to, which was disappointing given the positive reviews I had read beforehand.

We love it (this was months ago and I'm just getting to writing about it) but if we hadn't, he offered a three day trial with the option to return and exchange if it didn't fit in our space how we hoped. No joke, we got more done in one day with them than three weeks with the Floor Store. Stay far away from the Floor Store unless you want overpriced material and slow, ineffective communication.
