The entire menu is overly priced for deep fried mush. Equivalent to gas station fried food but way more expensive and way less seasonings! And service, well that's a joke. One person taking orders for the entire restaurant and seemingly could care less about anything at all. Over $100 for 4 deep fried goop dinners. Came in last night for the Friday special whips the two piece catfish dinner with two sides and hush puppies. Wow, all for $12.99!!! The fish was well seasoned, the coleslaw was my favorite and the homemade hush puppies were delicious also. The staff is very friendly and the food is definitely worth coming back for!!!! read more

Came in after church on Easter. 5 of us sat right away. Server was very sweet. Brought pitchers of tea for table and crackers. I had shrimp sandwich with coleslaw, husband had the catfish basket and beans, my mom had the shrimp basket and coleslaw, and (not pictured) fried oysters basket. All was very good. Sent here by locals, it is as local as it gets. Tables full of Policemen, Servers so chipper they would put Pollyanna to shame and of course tourists like us gagging for a catfish sandwich. The place is huge so if you go bang on lunch and dinner time it may take a while to come out. The fried green tomatoes were lovely and we made our our remoulade sauce to smear on. We stopped in for dinner. The place is really clean and the staff is very friendly. The food was mediocre. My husband ordered the catfish sandwich with a fillet the size of a blue gill. His fries were fresh! I ordered the fillet dinner. I think maybe we are just used to getting huge pieces of catfish, because I also found my fillets to be small. I ordered green beans and baked beans for my sides. The baked beans were good. The green beans were at room temperature and over cooked. Everything was just flat, missing that something extra. It was nice to try some place new. We may have tried dessert, but our check was brought out before we could order it, so I guess we should be thankful we were spared. read more

Walk through the door and you are taken back to the 1980s catfish restaurants in LA and Miss. down home just good fried food with all the sides. Had the catfish filets , Cole slaw and cheese grits. All were great not to greasy just all around great food. Service was excellent. The hush puppies are more cake tasting than typical dry cornmeal hush puppies went great with butter. Let's call it what it is. Good, no frills fried food. For the area (Milton/Pace/Pea Ridge) there's not a lot of reasonably priced seafood options. And when you want fried shrimp... well this is one of the places you end up. The tea is good, and whatever beverage you order, you get a pitcher at your table. It's helps and honestly it's good sweet tea. I split the shrimp & catfish and it was yum. Highly recommend. I'm not a fan of their slaw but my mom is. Best fried seafood spot I've had so far in this area. The service is quick and kind. The restaurant has a homey mom and pop feel with dimmer lights which is something I personally enjoy. They get out food quick so you're never waiting too long, but don't let that fool ya. Your food is hot, fresh, & ready to burn your mouth if you're too quick! Give it a minute to cool down. The catfish is sooooooo good! I thoroughly enjoy the catfish, the cheese grits, the okra, & the hush puppies every single time. My husband loveeeees the coleslaw, but I am personally not a fan. It's just extremely fine and I'm more of a crunch girl myself. I really enjoyed the key lime pie as it was actually lime flavored and packed a punch. The crust was tasty as well! If you've got the stomach for it, I recommend the all you can eat as it's a great deal at less than $26 for catfish and shrimp! They keep it coming and your two sides can be interchangeable! First let me start by saying I'm a native Floridian and somewhat of a seafood "snob". We ( work group) stopped here for lunch and that was a good decision. While there was a short wait it was worth it. The service was good, fast and attentive. She was happy to answer our questions and the drinks came fast. The menu had many great lunch selections. We chose the fried oyster and the catfish baskets . The meals came out fast and were steaming hot. The oysters were good size, hot and some of the best fried oysters any of us had eaten in a good while. The breading was crunchy and not greasy or soft the coleslaw was a mayo base and was good along with the hushpuppies. The catfish as well was cooked perfectly and piping hot. So I came home to Milton for a few days and I brought my girlfriend and a friend with me. I brought up the idea of catfish, they thought that sounded great, and I knew just where to take them. I've been coming to David's Catfish House for a long time now, and it has never let me down. We get here and we get seated promptly. The delicious sweet tea starts flowing, and the menus get examined. I decide to order off the lunch menu and get the Fried Catfish Plate with double fries. I got the filet option, because the whole catfish option isn't served with the head on. Just warning you now. Shame. My girlfriend orders the Popcorn Shrimp Basket with cole slaw. My catfish is wonderful. The breading ratio is so small, and the amount of meat that is inside the filet is well worth the price. So good. I'll get this every time. Their hush puppies are a little bland on seasoning or flavor, but they're fried well and are not oily, which is always good for puppies. The fries were good, too. A nice crisp and cooked all the way through. A wonderful vessel for my ketchup. The popcorn shrimp was also wonderful. The seafood here just doesn't taste like it's frozen. I don't know if it's frozen or fresh, but it tastes absolutely dynamite. The cole slaw was good, too. Not too wet. Everyone that works here will give you the southern charm that you deserve while eating catfish in the South. The decor is quaint and rustic. It's all just themed so nicely and everything is simple, just like I like things when I'm home. Wife and I stopped by for lunch Friday, both ordered 3 piece fish with sides and drinks, total came to $60.00 + change. On the back page of the menu there was a "Family Pack" for around $40.00, wellll, as I attempted to order it I was informed as she was pointing to the small print that the "pack" was only for "takeout/to go". Went down hill from there, sweet tea was bitter, our fish and french fries tasted like they were fried in old oil. Cheese grits were uneatable, and I'm still trying to figure out how in my order of fries, half was under cooked, and the other half was really, really done. You are probably wondering if I will go back, probably not, will I recommend David's Catfish House, probably not. For the price vs the quality of the food, I will spend my $60.00 elsewhere. I struggled with this post because the waitress was amazing however, I think this restaurant needs a wake up call. My daughter and I went to David's Catfish house in Milton Fl today. The old rank and dirty smell hit us first, now I can say we should've left but no. We stayed. I ordered the seafood platter and she ordered the catfish fillets with fries and grits. My food was overcooked, soggy, the fish had a muddy, dirty taste. None of it was edible. The grease needed to be changed. the flies were bad. They can Fry but cut corners with the quality of Food. This place used to be really good. I went today July 1, 2023 at 2pm. I ordered the haburger steak with a baked potato and a side salad. I recieved my salad quickly. I looked my salad over and there were multiple leaves of lettuce that were brown obviously left out away from refrigeration. When I took my first bite it wasnt cool. Another lady down from me called the waitress over and complained her bake potato was old. When I recieved my plate the bake potato was small and wasnt even hot. How can you melt butter with a lukewarm potato. After my first bite I alsi noted the potato tasted old. If the truth were known the potato was left over frim the day before or possibly several fays. Very disappointed in this Davids. Was a waste of my money. read more

I ordered 6 jumbo boiled shrimp with a side of grits and coleslaw. The shrimp tasted like it was boiled in plain water... no seasoning at all. Now, I've been coming here at least once a month for a few years so I know what its supposed to taste like. This is not it. The waitress took my 5 uneaten shrimp to the back so the chef could "check it out," then came back and said they would reduce the charge from $8.99 to $4.50. Our server did her best. We had a party of 8 and not one dish was cooked correctly. Everything was overcooked and dry and not much in the way of flavor.
